2. क्या तू उसकी नाक में नकेल लगा सकता वा उसका जबड़ा कील से बेध सकता है?

3. क्या वह तुझ से बहुत गिड़गिड़ाहट करेगा, वा तुझ से मीठी बातें बोलेगा?

5. क्या तू उस से ऐसे खेलेगा जैसे चिड़िया से, वा अपनी लड़कियों का जी बहलाने को उसे बान्ध रखेेगा?

5. Will you tie him like a pet bird, like something to amuse your servant women?

6. क्या मछुओं के दल उसे बिकाऊ माल समझेंगे? क्या वह उसे व्योपारियों में बांट देंगे?

6. Will fishermen bargain over him? Will merchants cut him up to sell?

7. क्या तू उसका चमड़ा भाले से, वा उसका सिर मछुवे के तिरशूलों से भर सकता है?

7. Can you fill his hide with fishing spears or pierce his head with a harpoon?

8. तू उस पर अपना हाथ ही धरे, तो लड़ाई को कभी न भूलेगा, और भविष्य में कभी ऐसा न करेगा।

9. देख, उसे पकड़ने की आशा निष्फल रहती है; उसके देखने ही से मन कच्चा पड़ जाता है।

10. कोई ऐसा साहसी नहीं, जो उसको भड़काए; फिर ऐसा कौन है जो मेरे साम्हने ठहर सके?

14. उसके मुख के दोनों किवाड़ कौन खोल सकता है? उसके दांत चारों ओर से डरावने हैं।

14. Who can make him open his jaws, ringed with those terrifying teeth?

15. उसके छिलकों की रेखाएं घमण्ड का कारण हैं; वे मानो कड़ी छाप से बन्द किए हुए हैं।

15. His back is made of rows of shields, fastened together and hard as stone.

16. वे एक दूसरे से ऐसे जुड़े हुए हैं, कि उन में कुछ वायु भी नहीं पैठ सकती।

16. Each one is joined so tight to the next, not even a breath can come between.

17. वे आपस में मिले हुए और ऐसे सटे हुए हैं, कि अलग अलग नहीं हो सकते।

17. They all are fastened so firmly together that nothing can ever pull them apart.

18. फिर उसके छींकने से उजियाला चमक उठता है, और उसकी आंखें भोर की पलकों के समान हैं।

18. Light flashes when he sneezes, and his eyes glow like the rising sun.

19. उसके मुंह से जलते हुए पलीते निकलते हैं, और आग की चिनगारियां छूटती हैं।

19. Flames blaze from his mouth, and streams of sparks fly out.

20. उसके नथ्ुानों से ऐसा धुआं निकलता है, जैसा खौलती हुई हांड़ी और जलते हुए नरकटों से।

20. Smoke comes pouring out of his nose, like smoke from weeds burning under a pot.

21. उसकी सांस से कोयले सुलगते, और उसके मुंह से आग की लौ निकलती है।

21. His breath starts fires burning; flames leap out of his mouth.

22. उसकी गर्दन में सामर्थ्य बनी रहती है, और उसके साम्हने डर नाचता रहता है।

22. His neck is so powerful that all who meet him are terrified.

23. उसके मांस पर मांस चढ़ा हुआ है, और ऐसा आपस में सटा हुआ है जो हिल नहीं सकता।

23. There is not a weak spot in his skin; it is as hard and unyielding as iron.

24. उसका हृदय पत्थर सा दृढ़ है, वरन चक्की के निचले पाट के समान दृढ़ है।

24. His stony heart is without fear, as unyielding and hard as a millstone.

25. जब वह उठने लगता है, तब सामथ भी डर जाते हैं, और डर के मारे उनकी सुध बुध लोप हो जाती है।

25. When he rises up, even the strongest are frightened; they are helpless with fear.

26. यदि कोई उस पर तलवार चलाए, तो उस से कुछ न बन पड़ेगा; और न भाले और न बछ और न तीर से।

26. There is no sword that can wound him; no spear or arrow or lance that can harm him.

27. वह लोहे को पुआल सा, और पीतल को सड़ी लकड़ी सा जानता है।

27. For him iron is as flimsy as straw, and bronze as soft as rotten wood.

28. वह तीर से भगाया नहीं जाता, गोफन के पत्थर उसके लिये भूसे से ठहरते हैं।

28. There is no arrow that can make him run; rocks thrown at him are like bits of straw.

29. लाठियां भी भूसे के समान गिनी जाती हैं; वह बछ के चलने पर हंसता है।

29. To him a club is a piece of straw, and he laughs when men throw spears.

30. उसके निचले भाग पैने ठीकरे के समान हैं, कीच पर मानो वह हेंगा फेरता है।

30. The scales on his belly are like jagged pieces of pottery; they tear up the muddy ground like a threshing sledge.

31. वह गहिरे जल को हंडे की नाई मथ्ता हैे उसके कारण नील नदी मरहम की हांडी के समान होती है।

31. He churns up the sea like boiling water and makes it bubble like a pot of oil.

32. वह अपने पीछे चमकीली लीक छोड़ता जाता है। गहिरा जल मानो श्वेत दिखाई देने लगता है।

32. He leaves a shining path behind him and turns the sea to white foam.

33. धरती पर उसके तुल्य और कोई नहीं है, जो ऐसा निर्भय बनाया गया है।

33. There is nothing on earth to compare with him; he is a creature that has no fear.

34. जो कुछ ऊंचा है, उसे वह ताकता ही रहता है, वह सब घमणिडयों के ऊपर राजा है।

34. He looks down on even the proudest animals; he is king of all wild beasts.
