1. जिनको बाबेल का राजा नबूकदनेस्सर बाबेल को बन्धुआ करके ले गया िाा, उन में से प्रान्त के जो लोग बन्धुआई से छूटकर यरूशलेम और यहूदा को अपने अपने नगर में लौटे वे ये हैं।

1. And these [are] the people of the land that went up, of the number of prisoners who were removed, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon carried away to Babylon, and they returned to Judah and Jerusalem, every man to his city.

2. ये जरूब्बाबेल, येशू, नहेम्याह, सरायाह, रेलायाह, मौर्दकै, बिलशान, मिस्पार, बिगवै, रहूम और बाना के साथ आए। इस्राएली प्रजा के मनुष्यों की गिनती यह है, अर्थात्

2. [Those] who came with Zerubbabel [were]: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, [and] Baanah. The number of the people of Israel:

3. परोश की सन्तान दो हजार एक सौ बहत्तर,

3. the children of Phares, two thousand one hundred and seventy-two;

4. शपत्याह की सन्तान तीन सौ बहत्तर,

4. the children of Shephatiah, three hundred and seventy-two;

5. आरह की सन्तान सात सौ पछहत्तर,

5. the children of Arah, seven hundred and seventy-five;

6. पहत्मोआब की सन्तान येशू और योआब की सन्तान में से दो हजार आठ सौ बारह,

6. the children of Pahath-Moab, belonging to the sons of Jeshua [and] Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve;

7. एलाम की सन्तान बारह सौ चौवन,

7. the children of Elam, a thousand two hundred and fifty-four;

8. जत्तू की सन्तान नौ सौ पैंतालीस,

8. the children of Zatthu, nine hundred and forty-five;

9. जक्कै की सन्तान सात सौ पैंतालीस,

9. the children of Zacchai, seven hundred and sixty;

10. बानी की सन्तान छ: सौ बयालीस

10. the children of Banui, six hundred and forty-two;

11. बेबै की सन्तान छ: सौ तेईस,

11. the children of Babai, six hundred and twenty-three;

12. अजगाद की सन्तान बारह सौ बाईस,

12. the children of Azgad, a thousand two hundred and twenty-two;

13. अदोनीकाम की सन्तान छ: सौ छियासठ,

13. the children of Adonikam, six hundred and sixty-six;

14. बिग्वै की सन्तान दो हजार छप्पन,

14. the children of Bigvai, two thousand and fifty-six;

15. आदीन की सन्तान चार सौ चौवन,

15. the children of Adin, four hundred and fifty-four;

16. यहिजकिरयाह की सन्तान आतेर की सन्तान में से अट्ठानवे,

16. the children of Ater [the son] of Hezekiah, ninety eight;

17. बेसै की सन्तान तीन सौ तेईस,

17. the children of Bezai, three hundred and twenty-three;

18. योरा के लोग एक सौ बारह,

18. the children of Jorah, a hundred and twelve;

19. हाशूम के लोग दो सौ तेईस,

19. the children of Hashum, two hundred and twenty-three;

20. गिब्बार के लोग पंचानवे,

20. the children of Gibbar, ninety-five;

21. बेतलेेहेम के लोग एक सौ तेईस,

21. the children of Bethlehem, a hundred and twenty-three;

22. नतोपा के मनुष्य छप्पन;

22. the children of Netophah, fifty-six;

23. अनातोत के मनुष्य एक सौ अट्ठाईस,

23. the children of Anathoth, a hundred and twenty-eight;

24. अज्मावेत के लोग बयालीस,

24. the children of Azmaveth, forty-three;

25. किर्यतारीम कपीरा और बेरोत के लोग सात सौ तैतालीस,

25. the children of Kirjath Arim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty-three;

26. रामा और गेबा के लोग छ: सौ इक्कीस,

26. the children of Ramah and Gibeah, six hundred and twenty-one;

27. मिकमास के मनुष्य एक सौ बाईस,

27. the men of Michmas, a hundred and twenty-two;

28. बेतेल और ऐ के मनुष्य दो सौ तेईस,

28. the men of Bethel and Ai, four hundred and twenty-three;

29. नबो के लोग बावन,

29. the children of Nebo, fifty-two;

30. मग्बीस की सन्तान एक सौ छप्पन,

30. the children of Magbish, a hundred and fifty-six;

31. दूसरे एलाम की सन्तान बारह सौ चौवन,

31. the children of Elamar, a thousand two hundred and fifty-four;

32. हारीम की सन्तान तीन सौ बीस,

32. the children of Elam, three hundred and twenty;

33. लोद, हादीद और ओनो के लोग सात सौ पचीस,

33. the children of Lod and Ono, seven hundred and twenty-five;

34. यरीहो के लोग तीन सौ पैतालीस,

34. the children of Jericho, three hundred and forty-five.

35. सना के लोग तीन हजार छ: सौ तीस।।

35. the children of Senaah, three thousand six hundred and thirty.

36. फिर याजकों अर्थात् येशू के घराने में से यदायाह की सन्तान नौ सौ तिहत्तर,

36. And the priests, the sons of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred and seventy-three;

37. इम्मेर की सन्तान एक हजार बावन,

37. the children of Immer, a thousand and fifty-two;

38. पशहूर की सन्तान बारह सौ सैंतालीस,

38. the children of Pashur, a thousand two hundred and forty-seven;

39. हारीम की सन्तान एक हजार सतरह।

39. the children of Harim, a thousand and seven.

40. फिर लेवीय, अर्थात् येशू की सन्तान और कदमिएल की सन्तान होदब्याह की सन्तान में से चौहत्तर।

40. And the Levites, the sons of Jeshua and Kadmiel, belonging to the sons of Hodaviah, seventy-four.

41. फिर गवैयों में से आसाप की सन्तान एक सौ अट्ठाईस।

41. The sons of Asaph, [the] singers: a hundred and twenty-eight.

42. फिर दरबानों की सन्तान, शल्लूम की सन्तान, आतेर की सन्तान, तल्मोन की सन्तान, अक्कूब की सन्तान, हतीता की सन्तान, और शोबै की सन्तान, ये सब मिलकर एक सौ उनतालीस हुए।

42. The children of the gatekeepers, the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, a hundred and thirty-nine [in] all.

43. फिर नतीन की सन्तान, सीहा की सन्तान, हसूपा की सन्तान, तब्बाओत की सन्तान।

43. The Nethinim: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,

44. केरोस की सन्तान, सीअहा की सन्तान, पादोन की सन्तान,

44. the children of Keros, the children of Siaha, the children of Padon,

45. लवाना की सन्तान, हगबा की सन्तान, अक्कूब की सन्तान,

45. the children of Labanah, the children of Hagabah, the sons of Akkub,

46. हागाब की सन्तान, शमलै की सन्तान, हानान की सन्तान,

46. the children of Hagab, the children of Shalmai, the children of Hanan,

47. गि ल की सन्तान, गहर की सन्तान, रायाह की सन्तान,

47. the children of Giddel, the children of Gahar, the children of Reaiah,

48. रसीन की सन्तान, नकोदा की सन्तान, गज्जाम की सन्तान,

48. the children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda, the children of Gazzam,

49. उज्जा की सन्तान, पासेह की सन्तान, बेसै की सन्तान,

49. the children of Uzzo, the children of Paseah, the children of Besai,

50. अस्ना की सन्तान, मूनीम की सन्तान, नपीसीम की सन्तान,

50. the children of Asnah, the children of Meunim, the children of Nephusim,

51. बकबूक की सन्तान, हकूपा की सन्तान, हर्हूर की सन्तान।

51. the children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,

52. बसलूत की सन्तान, महीदा की सन्तान, हर्शा की सन्तान,

52. the children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,

53. बर्कोस की सन्तान, सीसरा की सन्तान, तेमह की सन्तान,

53. the children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Tamah,

54. नसीह की सन्तान, और हतीपा की सन्तान।।

54. the children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.

55. फिर सुलैमान के दासों की सन्तान, सोतै की सन्तान, हस्सोपेरेत की सन्तान, परूदा की सन्तान,

55. The children of the servants of Solomon: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda,

56. याला की सन्तान, दर्कोन की सन्तान, गि :ल की सन्तान,

56. the children of Jaala, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,

57. शपत्याह की सन्तान, हत्तील की सन्तान, पोकरेतसबायीम की सन्तान, और आमी की सन्तान।

57. the children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth, the children of Zebaim, the children of Ami.

58. सब नतीन और सुलैमान के दासों की सन्तान, तीन सौ बानवे थे।।

58. All the Nethinim, and the sons of Abdeselma [were] three hundred and ninety-two.

59. फिर जो तेल्मेलह, तेलहर्शा, करूब, अस्रान और इम्मेर से आए, परन्तु वे अपने अपने पितरों के घराने और वंशावली न बता सके कि वे इस्राएल के हैं, वे ये हैं:

59. And these [are] they that went up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Cherub, Addan, and Immer; but they were not able to identify the house of their fathers, and their seed, whether they were of Israel;

60. अर्थात् दलायाह की सन्तान, तोबिरयाह की सन्तान और नकोदा की सन्तान, जो मिलकर छ: सौ बावन थे।

60. the children of Delaiah, the children of Bua, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred and fifty-two.

61. और याजकों की सन्तान में से हबायाह की सन्तान, हक्कोस की सन्तान और बर्जिल्लै की सन्तान, जिस ने गिलादी बर्जिल्ले की एक बेटी को ब्याह लिया और उसी का नाम रख लिया था।

61. And of the children of the priests, the children of Labeia, the children of Akkus, the children of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called by their name.

62. इन सभों ने अपनी अपनी वंशावली का पत्रा औरों की वंशावली की पोथियों में ढूंढ़ा, परन्तु वे न मिले, इसलिये वे अशुद्ध ठहराकर याजकपद से निकाले गए।

62. These sought their genealogy [as though] they had been reckoned, but they were not found; and they were removed from the priesthood, [as defiled.]

63. और अधिपति ने उन से कहा, कि जब तक ऊरीम और तुम्मीम धारण करनेवाला कोई याजक न हो, तब तक कोई परमपवित्रा वस्तु खाने न पाए।।

63. And the Tirshatha told them that they should not eat of the most holy things, until a priest should arise with the Urim and Thummim.

64. समस्त मण्डली मिलकर बयालीस हजार तीन सौ साठ की थी।

64. And all the congregation together [were] about forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty;

65. इनको छोड़ इनके सात हजार तीन सौ सैंतीस दास- दासियां और दो सौ गानवाले और गानेवालियां थीं।

65. besides their male and female servants, [and] these were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven. And [among] these were two hundred men and women singers.

66. उन के घोड़े सात सौ छत्तीस, खच्चर दो सौ पैंतालीस, ऊंट चार सौ पैंतीस,

66. Their horses [were] seven hundred and thirty-six, their mules, two hundred and forty-five.

67. और गदहे छ: हजार सात सौ बीस थे।

67. Their camels, four hundred and thirty-five; their donkeys, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

68. और पितरों के घरानों के कुछ मुख्य मुख्य पुरूषों ने जब यहोवा के भसन को जो यरूशलेम में है, आए, तब परमेश्वर के भवन को उसी के स्थान पर खड़ा करने के लिये अपनी अपनी इच्छा से कुछ दिया।

68. And [some] of the chiefs of families, when they went into the house of the Lord that was in Jerusalem, offered willingly for the house of God, to establish it on its prepared place.

69. उन्हों ने अपनी अपनी पूंजी के अनुसार इकसठ हजार दर्कमोन सोना और पांच हजार माने चान्दी और याजकों के योग्य एक सौ अंगरखे अपनी अपनी इच्छा से उस काम के खजाने में दे दिए।

69. According to their ability they gave into the treasury of the work pure gold, sixty-one thousand pieces, and five thousand pounds of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.

70. तब याजक और लेवीय और लोगों में से कुछ और गवैये और द्वारपाल और नतीन लोग अपने नगर में और सब इस्राएली अपने अपने नगर में फिर बस गए।।

70. So the priests, the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinim, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
