1. एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश में मीका नाम एक पुरूष था।

1. And there was a man of Mount Ephraim, whose name [was] Micah.

2. उस ने अपनी माता से कहा, जो ग्यारह सौ टुकड़े चान्दी तुझ से ले लिए गए थे, जिनके विषय में तू ने मेरे सुनते भी शाप दिया था, वे मेरे पास हैं; मैं ने ही उनको ले लिया था। उसकी माता ने कहा, मेरे बेटे पर यहोवा की ओर से आशीष होए।

2. And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred [shekels] of silver that were stolen from thee, about which thou didst curse in my hearing, behold, the silver [is] with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed [be thou] of the LORD, my son.

3. जब उस ने वे ग्यारह सौ टुकड़े चान्दी अपनी माता को फेर दिए; तब माता ने कहा, मैं अपनी ओर से अपने बेटे के लिये यह रूपया यहोवा को निश्चय अर्पण करती हूं ताकि उस से एक मूरत खोदकर, और दूसरी ढालकर बनाई जाए, सो अब मैं उसे तुझ को फेर देती हूं।

3. And when he had restored the eleven hundred [shekels] of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had completely dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for thee, my son, to make thee a graven image and a molten image; now therefore, I will restore it unto thee.

4. जब उस ने वह रूपया अपनी माता को फेर दिया, तब माता ने दो सौ टुकड़े ढलवैयों को दिए, और उस ने उन से एक मूर्त्ति खोदकर, और दूसरी ढालकर बनाई; और वे मीका के घर में रहीं।

4. After the money was restored unto her, his mother took two hundred [shekels] of silver and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image, which was [set up] in the house of Micah.

5. मीका के पास एक देवस्थान था, तब उस ने एक एपोद, और कई एक गृहदेवता बनवाए; और अपने एक बेटे का संस्कार करके उसे अपना पुरोहित ठहरा लियां

5. And the man Micah had a brothel of idolatry, and made an ephod and teraphim and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

6. उन दिनों में इस्राएलियों का कोई राजा न था; जिसको जो ठीक सूझ पड़ता था वही वह करता था।।

6. In those days [there was] no king in Israel; each one did [that which was] right in his own eyes.

7. यहूदा के कुल का एक जवान लेवीय यहूदा के बेतलेहेम में परदेशी होकर रहता था।

7. And there was a young man out of Bethlehem of Judah of the family of Judah, who [was] a Levite, and he sojourned there.

8. वह यहूदा के बेतलेहेम नगर से इसिलिये निकला, कि जहां कहीं स्थान मिले वहां जा रहे। चलते चलते वह एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश में मीका के घर पर आ निकला।

8. And the man had departed out of the city from Bethlehem of Judah to sojourn where he could find [a place], and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah as he journeyed.

9. मीका ने उस से पूछा, तू कहां से आता है? उस ने कहा, मैं तो यहूदा के बेतलेहेम से आया हुआ एक लेवीय हूं, और इसलिये चला जाता हूं, कि जहां कहीं ठिकाना मुझे मिले वहीं रहूं।

9. And Micah said unto him, From where hast thou come? And he said unto him, I [am] a Levite of Bethlehem of Judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find [a place].

10. मीका ने उस से कहा, मेरे संग रहकर मेरे लिये पिता और पुरोहित बन, और मैं तुझे प्रति वर्ष दस टुकड़े रूपे, और एक जोडा कपड़ा, और भोजनवस्तु दिया करूंगा; तब वह लेवीय भीतर गया।

10. Then Micah said unto him, Dwell with me and be a father and a priest unto me, and I will give thee ten [shekels] of silver by the year and the ordinary apparel and thy food. So the Levite went in.

11. और वह लेवीय उस पुरूष के संग रहने को प्रसन्न हुआ; और वह जवान उसके साथ बेटा सा बना रहा।

11. And the Levite was content to dwell with the man, and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.

12. तब मीका ने उस लेवीय का संस्कार किया, और वह जवान उसका पुरोहित होकर मीका के घर में रहने लगा।

12. And Micah consecrated the Levite, and the young man became his priest and was in the house of Micah.

13. और मीका सोचता था, कि अब मैं जानता हूं कि यहोवा मेरा भला करेगा, क्योंकि मैं ने एक लेवीय को अपना पुरोहित कर रखा है।।

13. Then Micah said, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite as my priest.:
