1. And when he sawe the multitude, he went vp into a mountaine: and when he was set, his disciples came to him.

3. Blessed are the poore in spirit, for theirs is the kingdome of heauen.

4. धन्य हैं वे, जो शोक करते हैं, क्योंकि वे शांति पाएंगे।

4. Blessed are they that mourne: for they shall be comforted.

5. धन्य हैं वे, जो नम्र हैं, क्योंकि वे पृथ्वी के अधिकारी होंगे।

5. Blessed are the meeke: for they shall inherite the earth.

6. Blessed are they which hunger and thirst for righteousnes: for they shalbe filled.

7. धन्य हैं वे, जिन के मन शुद्ध हैं, क्योंकि वे परमेश्वर को देखेंगे।

7. Blessed are the mercifull: for they shall obteine mercie.

8. धन्य हैं वे, जो मेल करवानेवाले हैं, क्योंकि वे परमेश्वर के पुत्रा कहलाएंगे।

8. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9. धन्य हैं वे, जो धर्म के कारण सताए जाते हैं, क्योंकि स्वर्ग का राज्य उन्हीं का है।

9. Blessed are the peace makers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10. धन्य हो तुम, जब मनुष्य मेरे कारण झूठ बोल बोलकर तुम्हरो विरोध में सब प्रकार की बुरी बात कहें।

10. Blessed are they which suffer persecution for righteousnes sake: for theirs is the kingdome of heauen.

11. आनन्दित और मगन होना क्योंकि तुम्हारे लिये स्वर्ग में बड़ा फल है इसलिये कि उन्हों ने उन भविष्यद्वक्ताओं को जो तुम से पहिले थे इसी रीति से सताया था।।

11. Blessed shall ye be when men reuile you, and persecute you, and say all maner of euill against you for my sake, falsely.

12. तुम पृथ्वी के नमक हो; परन्तु यदि नमक का स्वाद बिगड़ जाए, तो वह फिर किस वस्तु से नमकीन किया जाएगा?

12. Reioyce and be glad, for great is your reward in heauen: for so persecuted they the Prophets which were before you.

13. तुम पृथ्वी के नमक हो; परन्तु यदि नमक का स्वाद बिगड़ जाए, तो वह फिर किस वस्तु से नमकीन किया जाएगा? फिर वह किसी काम का नहीं, केवल इस के कि बाहर फेंका जाए और मनुष्यों के पैरों तले रौंआ जाए।

13. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt haue lost his sauour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be troden vnder foote of men.

14. तुम जगत की ज्योति हो; जो नगर पहाड़ पर बसा हुआ है वह छिप नहीं सकता।

14. Ye are the light of the world. A citie that is set on an hill, cannot be hid.

15. और लोग दिया जलाकर पैमाने के नीचे नहीं परन्तु दीवट पर रखते हैं, तब उस से घर के सब लोगों को प्रकाश पहुंचता है।

15. Neither doe men light a candel, and put it vnder a bushel, but on a candlesticke, and it giueth light vnto all that are in the house.

16. उसी प्रकार तुम्हारा उजियाला मनुष्यों के साम्हने चमके कि वे तुम्हारे भले कामों को देखकर तुम्हारे पिता की, जो स्वर्ग में हैं, बड़ाई करें।।

16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good workes, and glorifie your Father which is in heauen.

17. यह न समझो, कि मैं व्यवस्था या भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की पुस्तकों को लोप करने आया हूं।
यशायाह 42:21

17. Think not that I am come to destroy the Lawe, or the Prophets. I am not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them.

18. लोप करने नहीं, परन्तु पूरा करने आया हूं, क्योंकि मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि जब तक आकाश और पृथ्वी टल न जाएं, तब तक व्यवस्था से एक मात्रा या बिन्दु भी बिना पूरा हुए नहीं टलेगा।

18. For truely I say vnto you, Till heauen, and earth perish, one iote or one title of the Law shall not scape, till all things be fulfilled.

19. इसलिये जो कोई इन छोटी से छोटी आज्ञाओं में से किसी एक को तोड़े, और वैसा ही लोगों को सिखाए, वह स्वर्ग के राज्य में सब से छोटा कहलाएगा; परन्तु जो कोई उन का पालन करेगा और उन्हें सिखाएगा, वही स्वर्ग के राज्य में महान कहलाएगा।

19. Whosoeuer therefore shall breake one of these least commandements, and teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdome of heauen: but whosoeuer shall obserue and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdome of heauen.

20. क्योंकि मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि यदि तुम्हारी धार्मिकता शास्त्रियों और फरीसियों की धार्मिकता से बढ़कर न हो, तो तुम स्वर्ग के राज्य में कभी प्रवेश करने न पाओगे।।

20. For I say vnto you, except your righteousnes exceede the righteousnes of the Scribes and Pharises, ye shall not enter into the kingdome of heauen.

21. तुम सुन चुके हो, कि पूर्वकाल के लोगों से कहा गया था कि हत्या न करना, और जो कोई हत्या करेगा वह कचहरी में दण्ड के योग्य होगा।

21. Ye haue heard that it was sayd vnto them of the olde time, Thou shalt not kill: for whosoeuer killeth shalbe culpable of iudgement.

22. परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि जो कोई अपने भाई पर क्रोध करेगा, वह कचहरी में दण्ड के योग्य होगा: और जो कोई अपने भाई को निकम्मा कहेगा वह महासभा में दण्ड के योग्य होगा; और जो कोई कहे 'अरे मूर्ख' वह नरक की आग के दण्ड के योग्य होगा।

22. But I say vnto you, whosoeuer is angry with his brother vnaduisedly, shalbe culpable of iudgment. And whosoeuer sayth vnto his brother, Raca, shalbe worthy to be punished by the Councill. And whosoeuer shall say, Foole, shalbe worthy to be punished with hell fire.

23. इसलिये यदि तू अपनी भेंट वेदी पर लाए, और वहां तू स्मरण करे, कि मेरे भाई के मन में मेरी ओर से कुछ विरोध है, तो अपनी भेंट वहीं वेदी के साम्हने छोड़ दे।

23. If then thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remembrest that thy brother hath ought against thee,

24. और जाकर पहिले अपने भाई से मेल मिलाप कर; तब आकर अपनी भेंट चढ़ा।

24. Leaue there thine offring before the altar, and goe thy way: first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

25. जब तक तू अपने मु ई के साथ मार्ग में हैं, उस से झटपट मेल मिलाप कर ले कहीं ऐसा न हो कि मु ई तुझे हाकिम को सौंपे, और हाकिम तुझे सिपाही को सौंप दे और तू बन्दीगृह में डाल दिया जाए।

25. Agree with thine aduersarie quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him, lest thine aduersarie deliuer thee to the Iudge, and the Iudge deliuer thee to ye sergeant, and thou be cast into prison.

26. मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं कि जब तक तू कौड़ी कौड़ी भर न दे तब तक वहां से छूटने न पाएगा।।

26. Verely I say vnto thee, thou shalt not come out thence, till thou hast payed the vtmost farthing.

27. तुम सुन चुके हो कि कहा गया था, कि व्यभिचार न करना।

27. Ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of olde time, Thou shalt not commit adulterie.

28. परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि जो कोई किसी स्त्री पर कुदृष्टि डाले वह अपने मन में उस से व्यभिचार कर चुका।

28. But I say vnto you, that whosoeuer looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adulterie with her already in his heart.

29. यदि तेरी दहिनी आंख तुझे ठोकर खिलाए, तो उसे निकालकर अपने पास से फेंक दे; क्योंकि तेरे लिये यही भला है कि तेरे अंगों में से एक नाश हो जाए और तेरा सारा शरीर नरक में न डाला जाए।

29. Wherefore if thy right eye cause thee to offend, plucke it out, and cast it from thee: for better it is for thee, that one of thy members perish, then that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

30. और यदि तेरा दहिना हाथ तुझे ठोकर खिलाए, तो उस को काटकर अपने पास से फेंक दे, क्योंकि तेरे लिये यही भला है, कि तेरे अंगों में से एक नाश हो जाए और तेरा सारा शरीर नरक में न डाला जाए।।

30. Also if thy right hand make thee to offend, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for better it is for thee that one of thy members perish, then that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

31. यह भी कहा गया था, कि जो कोई अपनी पत्नी को त्याग दे तो उसे त्यागपत्रा दे।
व्यवस्थाविवरण 24:1-3

31. It hath bene sayd also, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife, let him giue her a bill of diuorcement.

32. परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं कि जो कोई अपनी पत्नी को व्यभिचार के सिवा किसी और कारण से छोड़ दे, तो वह उस से व्यभिचार करवाता है; और जो कोई उस त्यागी हुई से ब्याह करे, वह व्यभिचार करता है।।

32. But I say vnto you, whosoeuer shall put away his wife (except it be for fornication) causeth her to commit adulterie: and whosoeuer shall marrie her that is diuorced, committeth adulterie.

33. फिर तुम सुन चुके हो, कि पूर्वकाल के लोगों से कहा गया था कि झूठी शपथ न खाना, परन्तु प्रभु के लिये अपनी शपथ को पूरी करना।

33. Againe, ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of old time, Thou shalt not forsweare thy selfe, but shalt performe thine othes to the Lord.

34. परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि कभी शपथ न खाना; न तो स्वर्ग की, क्योंकि वह परमेश्वर का सिंहासन है।

34. But I say vnto you, Sweare not at all, neither by heauen, for it is the throne of God:

35. न धरती की, क्योंकि वह उसके पांवों की चौकी है; न यरूशलेम की, क्योंकि वह महाराजा का नगर है।

35. Nor yet by the earth: for it is his footestoole: neither by Hierusalem: for it is the citie of the great King.

36. अपने सिर की भी शपथ न खाना क्योंकि तू एक बाल को भी न उजला, न काला कर सकता है।

36. Neither shalt thou sweare by thine head, because thou canst not make one heare white or blacke.

37. परन्तु तुम्हारी बात हां की हां, या नहीं की नहीं हो; क्योंकि जो कुछ इस से अधिक होता है वह बुराई से होता है।।

37. But let your communication be Yea, yea: Nay, nay. For whatsoeuer is more then these, commeth of euill.

38. तुम सुन चुके हो, कि कहा गया था, कि आंख के बदले आंख, और दांत के बदले दांत।

38. Ye haue heard that it hath bene sayd, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.

39. But I say vnto you, Resist not euill: but whosoeuer shall smite thee on thy right cheeke, turne to him the other also.

40. और यदि कोई तुझ पर नालिश करके तेरा कुरता लेना चाहे, तो उसे दोहर भी ले लेने दे।

40. And if any man wil sue thee at the law, and take away thy coate, let him haue thy cloke also.

41. और जो कोई तुझे कोस भर बेगार में ले जाए तो उसके साथ दो कोस चला जा।

41. And whosoeuer will compell thee to goe a mile, goe with him twaine.

42. जो कोई तुझ से मांगे, उसे दे; और जो तुझ से उधार लेना चाहे, उस से मुंह न मोड़।।

42. Giue to him that asketh, and from him that would borowe of thee, turne not away.

43. तुम सुन चुके हो, कि कहा गया था; कि अपने पड़ोसी से प्रेम रखना, और अपने बैरी से बैर।

43. Ye haue heard that it hath bin said, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour, and hate your enemie.

44. परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि अपने बैरियों से प्रेम रखो और अपने सतानेवालों के लिये प्रार्थना करो।

44. But I say vnto you, Loue your enemies: blesse them that curse you: doe good to them that hate you, and pray for them which hurt you, and persecute you,

45. जिस से तुम अपने स्वर्गीय पिता की सन्तान ठहरोगे क्योंकि वह भलों और बुरों दोनो पर अपना सूर्य उदय करता है, और धर्मियों और अधर्मियों दोनों पर मेंह बरसाता है।

45. That ye may be the children of your father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sunne to arise on the euill, and the good, and sendeth raine on the iust, and vniust.

46. क्योंकि यदि तुम अपने प्रेम रखनेवालों ही से प्रेम रखो, तो तुम्हारे लिये क्या लाभ होगा? क्या महसूल लेनेवाले भी ऐसा ही नहीं करते?

46. For if ye loue them, which loue you, what rewarde shall you haue? Doe not the Publicanes euen the same?

47. और यदि तुम केवल अपने भाइयों की को नमस्कार करो, तो कौन सा बड़ा काम करते हो? क्या अन्यजाति भी ऐसा नहीं करते?

47. And if ye be friendly to your brethren onely, what singular thing doe ye? doe not euen the Publicanes likewise?

48. इसलिये चाहिये कि तुम सिद्ध बनो, जैसा तुम्हारा स्वर्गीय पिता सिद्ध है।।

48. Ye shall therefore be perfit, as your Father which is in heauen, is perfite.
