1. हे मेरे लागो, मेरी शिक्षा सुनो; मेरे वचनों की ओर कान लगाओ!

1. A maskil of Asaph. My people, listen to my teaching. Pay attention to what I say.

2. मैं अपना मूंह नीतिवचन कहने के लिये खोलूंगा; मैं प्राचीकाल की गुप्त बातें कहूंगा,

2. I will open my mouth and tell stories. I will speak about things that were hidden. They happened a long time ago.

3. जिन बातों को हम ने सुना, ओर जान लिया, और हमारे बाप दादों ने हम से वर्णन किया है।

3. We have heard about them and we know them. Our people who lived before us have told us about them.

4. उन्हे हम उनकी सन्तान से गुप्त न रखेंगें, परन्तु होनहार पीढ़ी के लोगों से, यहोवा का गुणानुवाद और उसकी सामर्थ और आश्चर्यकर्मों का वर्णन करेंगें।।
इफिसियों 6:4

4. We won't hide them from our children. We will tell them to those who live after us. We will tell them about what the Lord has done that is worthy of praise. We will talk about his power and the wonderful things he has done.

5. उस ने तो याकूब में एक चितौनी ठहराई, और इस्त्राएल में एक व्यवस्था चलाई, जिसके विषय उस ने हमारे पितरों को आज्ञा दी, कि तुम इन्हे अपने अपने लड़केवालों को बताना;

5. He gave laws to the people of Jacob. He gave Israel their law. He commanded our people who lived before us to teach his laws to their children.

6. कि आनेवाली पीढ़ी के लोग, अर्थात जो लड़केवाले उत्पन्न होनेवाले हैं, वे इन्हे जानें; और अपने अपने लड़केवालों से इनका बखान करने में उद्यत हों, जिस से वे परमेश्वर का आस्त्रा रखें,

6. Then those born later would know his laws. Even their children yet to come would know them. And they in turn would tell their children.

7. और ईश्वर के बड़े कामों को भूल न जाएं, परन्तु उसकी आज्ञाओं का पालन करते रहें;

7. Then they would put their trust in God. They would not forget what he had done. They would obey his commands.

8. और अपने पितरों के समान न हों, क्योंकि उस पीढ़ी के लोग तो हठीले और झगड़ालू थे, और उन्हों ने अपना मन स्थिर न किया था, और न उनकी आत्मा ईश्वर की ओर सच्ची रही।।

8. They would not be like their people who lived before them. Those people were stubborn. They refused to obey God. Their hearts were not true to him. Their spirits were not faithful to him.

9. एप्रेमयों ने तो शस्त्राधारी और धनुर्धारी होने पर भी, युठ्ठ के समय पीठ दिखा दी।

9. The soldiers of Ephraim were armed with bows. But they ran away on the day of battle.

10. उन्हो ने परमेश्वर की वाचा पूरी नहीं की, और उसकी व्यवस्था पर चलने से इनकार किया।

10. They didn't keep the covenant God had made with them. They refused to live by his law.

11. उन्हो ने उसके बड़े कामों को और जो आश्चर्यकर्म उस ने उनके साम्हने किए थे, उनको भुला दिया।

11. They forgot what he had done. They didn't remember the wonders he had shown them.

12. उस ने तो उनके बापदादों के सम्मुख मिस्त्रा देश के सोअन के मैदान में अद्भुत कर्म किए थे।

12. He did miracles right in front of our people who lived long ago. At that time they were living in the land of Egypt, in the area of Zoan.

13. उस ने समुद्र को दो भाग करके उन्हे पार कर दिया, और जल को ढ़ेर की नाई खड़ा कर दिया।

13. God parted the Red Sea and led them through it. He made the water stand up like a wall.

14. और उस ने दिन को बादल के खम्भों से और रात भर अग्नि के प्रकाश के द्धारा उनकी अगुवाई की।

14. He guided them with the cloud during the day. He led them with the light of a fire all night long.

15. वह जंगल में चट्टानें फाड़कर, उनको मानो गहिरे जलाशयों से मनमाने पिलाता था।
1 कुरिन्थियों 10:4

15. He broke the rocks open in the desert. He gave them as much water as there is in the oceans.

16. उस ने चट्टान से भी धाराएं निकालीं और नदियों का सा जल बहाया।।

16. He brought streams out of a rocky cliff. He made water flow down like rivers.

17. तौभी वे फिर उसके विरूद्ध अघिक पाप करते गए, और निर्जल देश में परमप्रधान के विरूद्ध उठते रहे।

17. But they continued to sin against him. In the desert they refused to obey the Most High God.

18. और अपनी चाह के अनुसार भोजन मांगकर मन ही मन ईश्वर की परीक्षा की।

18. They were stubborn and put God to the test. They ordered him to give them the food they longed for.

19. वे परमेश्वर के विरूद्ध बोले, और कहने लगे, क्या ईश्वर जंगल में मेज लगा सकता है?

19. They spoke against God. They said, 'Can God put food on a table in the desert?

20. उस ने चट्टान पर मारके जल बहा तो दिया, और धाराएं उमण्ड़ चली, परन्तु क्या वह रोटी भी दे सकता है? क्या वह अपनी प्रजा के लिये मांस भी तैयार कर सकता?

20. When he struck the rock, streams of water poured out. Huge amounts of water flowed down. But can he also give us food? Can he supply meat for his people?'

21. यहोवा सुनकर क्रोध से भर गया, तब याकूब के बीच आग लगी, और इस्त्राएल के विरूद्ध क्रोध भड़का;

21. When the Lord heard what they said, he was very angry. His anger broke out like fire against the people of Jacob. He became very angry with Israel.

22. इसलिए कि उन्हों ने परमेश्वर पर विश्वास नहीं रखा था, न उसकी उठ्ठार करने की शक्ति पर भरोसा किया।

22. That was because they didn't believe in God. They didn't trust in his power to save them.

23. तौभी उस ने आकाश को आज्ञा दी, और स्वर्ग के ठ्ठारों को खोला;

23. But he gave a command to the skies above. He opened the doors of the heavens.

24. और उनके लिये खाने को मान बरसाया, और उन्हे स्वर्ग का अन्न दिया।

24. He rained down manna for the people to eat. He gave them the grain of heaven.

25. उनको शूरवीरों की सी रोटी मिली; उस ने उनको मनमाना भोजन दिया।

25. Mere men ate the bread of angels. He sent them all of the food they could eat.

26. उस ने आकाश में पुरवाई को चलाया, और अपनी शक्ति से दक्खिनी बहाई;

26. He made the east wind blow from the heavens. By his power he caused the south wind to blow.

27. और उनके लिये मांस धूलि की नाई बहुत बरसाया, और समुद्र के बालू के समान अनगिनित पक्षी भेजे;

27. He rained meat down on them like dust. He sent them birds like sand on the seashore.

28. और उनकी छावनी के बीच में, उनके निवासों के चारों ओर गिराए।

28. He made the birds come down inside their camp. The birds fell all around their tents.

29. और वे खाकर अति तृप्त हुए, और उस ने उनकी कामना पूरी की।

29. People ate until they had more than enough. He gave them what they had longed for.

30. उनकी कामना बनी ही रही, उनका भोजन उनके मुंह ही में था,

30. But even before they had finished eating, God acted. He did it while the food was still in their mouths.

31. कि परमेश्वर का क्रोध उन पर भड़का, और उस ने उनके हष्टपुष्टों को घात किया, और इस्त्राएल के जवानों को गिरा दिया।।
1 कुरिन्थियों 10:5

31. His anger rose up against them. He put to death the strongest among them. He struck down Israel's young men.

32. इतने पर भी वे और अधिक पाप करते गए; और परमेश्वर के आश्चर्यकर्मों की प्रतीति न की।

32. But even after all that, they kept on sinning. Even after they had seen the miracles he did, they still didn't believe.

33. तब उस ने उनके दिनों को व्यर्थ श्रम में, और उनके वर्षों को धबराहट में कटवाया।

33. So he brought their days to an end like a puff of smoke. He ended their years with terror.

34. जब जब वह उन्हे घात करने लगता, तब तब वे उसको पूछते थे; और फिरकर ईश्वर को यत्न से खोजते थे।

34. Every time God killed some of them, the others would look to him. They gladly turned back to him again.

35. और उनको स्मरण होता था कि परमेश्वर हमारी चट्टान है, और परमप्रधान ईश्वर हमारा छुड़ानेवाला है।

35. They remembered that God was their Rock. They remembered that God Most High had set them free.

36. तौभी उन्हों ने उस से चापलूसी की; वे उस से झूठ बोले।

36. But they didn't mean it when they praised him. They lied to him when they spoke.

37. क्योंकि उनका ह्यदय उसकी ओर दृढ़ न था; न वे उसकी वाचा के विषय सच्चे थे।

37. Their hearts were not true to him. They weren't faithful to the covenant he had made with them.

38. परन्तु वह जो दयालु है, वह अधर्म को ढांपता, और नाश नहीं करता; वह बारबार अपने क्रोध को ठण्डा करता है, और अपनी जलजलाहट को पूरी रीति से भड़कने नहीं देता।

38. But he was full of tender love. He forgave their sins and didn't destroy his people. Time after time he held back his anger. He didn't let all of his burning anger blaze out.

39. उसको स्मरण हुआ कि ये नाशमान हैं, ये वायु के समान हैं जो चली जाती और लौट नहीं आती।

39. He remembered that they were only human. He remembered they were only a breath of air that drifts by and doesn't return.

40. उन्हों ने कितनी ही बार जंगल में उस से बलवा किया, और निर्जल देश में उसको उदास किया!

40. How often they refused to obey him in the desert! How often they caused him sorrow in that dry and empty land!

41. वे बारबार ईश्वर की परीक्षा करते थे, और इस्त्राएल के पवित्रा को खेदित करते थे।

41. Again and again they put God to the test. They made the Holy One of Israel sad and angry.

42. उन्होने न तो उसका भुजबल स्मरण किया, न वह दिन जब उस ने उनको द्रोही के वश से छुड़ाया था;

42. They didn't remember his power. They forgot the day he set them free from those who had beaten them down.

43. कि उस ने क्योंकर अपने चिन्ह मिस्त्रा में, और अपने चमत्कार सोअन के मैदान में किए थे।

43. They forgot how he had shown them his miraculous signs in Egypt. They forgot his miracles in the area of Zoan.

44. उस ने तो मिस्त्रियों की नहरों को लोहू बना डाला, और वे अपनी नदियों का जल पी न सके।

44. He turned the rivers of Egypt into blood. The people of Egypt couldn't drink water from their streams.

45. उस ने उनके बीच में डांस भेजे जिन्हों ने उन्हे काट खाया, और मेंढक भी भेजे, जिन्हों ने उनका बिगाड़ किया।

45. He sent large numbers of flies that bit them. He sent frogs that destroyed their land.

46. उस ने उनकी भूमि की उपज कीड़ों को, और उनकी खेतीबारी टिड्डयों को खिला दी थी।

46. He gave their crops to the grasshoppers. He gave their food to the locusts.

47. उस ने उनकी दाखलताओं को ओेलों से, और उनके गूलर के पेड़ों को बड़े बड़े पत्थ्र बरसाकर नाश किया।

47. He destroyed their vines with hail. He destroyed their fig trees with sleet.

48. उस ने उनके पशुओं को ओलों से, और उनके ढोरों को बिजलियों से मिटा दिया।

48. He killed their cattle with hail. Their livestock were struck by lightning.

49. उस ने उनके ऊपर अपना प्रचणड क्रोध और रोष भड़काया, और उन्हे संकट में डाला, और दुखदाई दूतों का दल भेजा।

49. He brought great trouble on Egypt by pouring out his blazing anger. In his hot anger he sent destroying angels against them.

50. उस ने अपने क्रोध का मार्ग खोला, और उनके प्राणों को मृत्यु से न बचाया, परन्तु उनको मरी के वश में कर दिया।

50. God prepared a path for his anger. He didn't spare their lives. He gave them over to the plague.

51. उस ने मिस्त्रा के सब पहिलौठों को मारा, जो हाम के डेरों में पौरूष के पहिले फल थे;

51. He killed the oldest son of each family in Egypt. He struck down the oldest son in every house in the land of Ham.

52. परन्तु अपनी प्रजा को भेड़- बकरियों की नाई पयान कराया, और जंगल में उनकी अगुवाई पशुओं के झुण्ड की सी की।

52. But he brought his people out like a flock. He led them like sheep through the desert.

53. तब वे उसके चलाने से बेखटके चले और उनको कुछ भय न हुआ, परन्तु उनके शत्रु समुद्र में डूब गए।

53. He guided them safely, and they weren't afraid. But the Red Sea swallowed up their enemies.

54. और उस ने उनको अपने पवित्रा देश के सिवाने तक, इसी पहाड़ी देश में पहुंचाया, जो उस ने अपने दहिने हाथ से प्राप्त किया था।

54. He brought his people to the border of his holy land. He led them to the central hill country he had taken by his power.

55. उस ने उनके साम्हने से अन्यजातियों को भगा दिया; और उनकी भूमि को डोरी से माप मापकर बांट दिया; और इस्त्राएल के गोत्रों को उनके डेरों में बसाया।।

55. He drove the nations out to make room for his people. He gave to each family a piece of land to pass on to their children. He settled the tribes of Israel in their homes.

56. तौभी उन्होने परमप्रधान परमेश्वर की परीक्षा की और उस से बलवा किया, और उसकी चितौनियों को न माना,

56. But they put God to the test. They refused to obey the Most High God. They didn't keep his laws.

57. और मुड़कर अपने पुरखाओं की नाई विश्वासघात किया; उन्हों ने निकम्मे धनुष की नाई धोखा दिया।

57. Like their people who lived before them, they turned away from him and were not faithful. They were like a bow that doesn't shoot straight. They couldn't be trusted.

58. क्योंकि उन्हों ने ऊंचे स्थान बनाकर उसको रिस दिलाई, और खुदी हुई मुर्तियों के द्वारा उस में जलन उपजाई।

58. They made God angry by going to their high places. They made him jealous by worshiping the statues of their gods.

59. परमेश्वर सुनकर रोष से भर गया, और उस ने इस्त्राएल को बिलकुल तज दिया।

59. When God saw what the people were doing, he was very angry. He turned away from them completely.

60. उस ने शीलो के निवास, अर्थात् उस तम्बु को जो उस ने मनुष्यों के बीच खडा किया था, त्याग दिया,

60. He deserted the holy tent at Shiloh. He left the tent he had set up among his people.

61. और अपनी सामर्थ को बन्धुआई में जाने दिया, और अपनी शोभा को द्रोही के वश में कर दिया।

61. He allowed the ark to be captured. Into the hands of his enemies he sent the ark where his glory rested.

62. उस ने अपनी प्रजा को तलवार से मरवा दिया, और अपने निज भाग के लोगों पर रोष से भर गया।

62. He let his people be killed with swords. He was very angry with them.

63. उन के जवान आग से भस्म हुए, और उनकी कुमारियों के विवाह के गीत न गाए गए।

63. Fire destroyed their young men. Their young women had no one to get married to.

64. उनके याजक तलवार से मारे गए, और उनकी विधवाएं रोने न पाई।

64. Their priests were killed with swords. Their widows weren't able to cry.

65. तब प्रभु मानो नींद से चौंक उठा, और ऐसे वीर के समान उठा जो दाखमधु पीकर ललकारता हो।

65. Then the Lord woke up as if he had been sleeping. He was like a man waking up from the deep sleep caused by wine.

66. और उस ने अपने द्रोहियों को मारकर पीछे हटा दिया; और उनकी सदा की नामधराई कराई।।

66. He drove his enemies back. He put them to shame that will last forever.

67. फिर उस ने यूसुफ के तप्बु को तज दिया; और एप्रैम के गोत्रा को न चुना;

67. He turned his back on the tents of the people of Joseph. He didn't choose to live in the tribe of Ephraim.

68. परन्तु यहूदा ही के गोत्रा को, और अपने प्रिय सिरयोन पर्वत को चुन लिया।

68. Instead, he chose to live in the tribe of Judah. He chose Mount Zion, which he loved.

69. उस ने अपने पवित्रास्थान को बहुत ऊंचा बना दिया, और पृथ्वी के समान स्थिर बनाया, जिसकी नेव उस ने सदा के लिये डाली है।

69. There he built his holy place as secure as the heavens. He built it to last forever, like the earth.

70. फिर उसने अपने दास दाऊद को चुनकर भेड़शालाओं में से ले लिया;

70. He chose his servant David. He took him from the sheep pens.

71. वह उसको बच्चेवाली भेड़ों के पीछे पीछे फिरने से ले आया कि वह उसकी प्रजा याकूब की अर्थात उसके निज भाग इस्त्राएल की चरवाही करे।

71. He brought him from tending sheep to be the shepherd of his people Jacob. He made him the shepherd of Israel, his special people.

72. तब उस ने खरे मन से उनकी चरवाही की, और अपने हाथ की कुशलता से उनकी अगुवाई की।।

72. David cared for them with a faithful and honest heart. With skilled hands he led them.
