1. तब शमूएल ने एक कुप्पी तेल लेकर उसके सिर पर उंडेला, और उसे चूमकर कहा, क्या इसका कारण यह नहीं कि यहोवा ने अपने निज भाग के ऊपर प्रधान होने को तेरा अभिषेक किया है?

1. And the Samuel toke a vessell of oyle, and powred it vpon his head, and kissed him, and sayd: Hath not the Lord annoynted thee, to be captaine ouer his inheritaunce?

2. आज जब तू मेरे पास से चला जाएगा, तब राहेल की कब्र के पास जो बिन्यामीन के देश के सिवाने पर सेलसह में है दो जन तुझे मिलेंगे, और कहेंगे, कि जिन गदिहियों को तू ढूंढने गया था वे मिल हैं; और सुन, तेरा पिता गदहियों की चिन्ता छोड़कर तुम्हारे कारण कुढ़ता हुआ कहता है, कि मैं अपने पुत्रा के लिये क्या करूं?

2. When thou art departed from me this day, thou shalt finde two men by Rahels sepulchre in ye border of Beniamin, euen at Zalezah, and they wil say vnto thee, ye asses which thou wetest to seke, are found: And lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, & soroweth for you, saying: what shal I do for my sonne?

3. फिर वहां से आगे बढ़कर जब तू ताबोर के बांजवृक्ष के पास पहुंचेगा, तब वहां तीन जन परमेश्वर के पास बेतेल को जाते हुए तुझे मिलेंगे, जिन में से एक तो बकरी के तीन बच्चे, और दूसरा तीन रोटी, और तीसरा एक कुप्पी दाखमधु लिए हुए होगा।

3. Then shalt thou go foorth fro thence, & shalt come to the playne of Thabor, and ther shal meete thee three me going vp to God to Bethel, one carying three kiddes, & another carying three loues of bread, & another carying a botel of wine.

4. और वे तेरा कुशल पूछेंगे, और तुझे दो रोटी देंगे, और तू उन्हें उनके हाथ से ले लेना।

4. And they wil salute thee and geue thee two loues of bread, which thou shalt receaue of their handes.

5. तब तू परमेश्वर के पहाड़ पर पहुंचेगा जहां पलिश्तियों की चौकी है; और जब तू वहां नगर में प्रवेश करे, तब नबियों का एक दल ऊंचे स्थान से उतरता हुआ तुझे मिलेगा; और उनके आगे सितार, डफ, बांसुली, और वीणा होंगे; और वे नबूवत करते होंगे।

5. After that, shalt thou come to the hil of God, wher is the garison of the Philistines: And when thou art come thyther to the citie, thou shalt meete a companie of prophetes comming downe fro the hyghe place, with a psalter, a timbrell, a pype, & a harpe before them, and they shal prophesie.

6. तब यहोवा का आत्मा तुझ पर बल से उतरेगा, और तू उनके साथ होकर नबूवत करने लगेगा, और तू परिवर्तित होकर और ही मनुष्य हो जाएगा।

6. And the spirite of the Lorde wil come vpon thee also, and thou shalt prophsie with them, & shalt be turned into another man.

7. और जब ये चिन्ह तुझे देख पड़ेंगे, तब जो काम करने का अवसर तुझे मिले उस में लग जाना; क्योंकि परमेश्वर तेरे संग रहेगा।

7. Therfore when these signes are come vnto thee, do what thou hast to do, for God is with thee.

8. और तू मुझ से पहिले गिलगाल को जाना; और मैं होमबलि और मेलबलि चढ़ाने के लिये तेरे पास आऊंगा। तू सात दिन तक मेरी बाट जोहते रहना, तब मैं तेरे पास पहुंचकर तुझे बताऊंगा कि तुझ को क्या क्या करना है।

8. And thou shalt go downe before me to Gilgal, and I also will come downe vnto thee to sacrifice burnt sacrifices, & to offre peace offringes: Tary for me seuen dayes till I come to thee, & shewe thee what thou shalt do.

9. ज्योंही उस ने शमूएल के पास से जाने को पीठ फेरी त्योंही परमेश्वर ने उसके मन को परिवर्तन किया; और वे सब चिन्ह उसी दिन प्रगट हुए।।

9. And when he had turned his backe to go fro Samuel, God gaue him another hearte, and all those tokens came to passe that same day.

10. जब वे उधर उस पहाड़ के पास आए, तब नबियों का एक दल उसको मिला; और परमेश्वर का आत्मा उस पर बल से उतरा, और वह उसके बीच में नबूवत करने लगा।

10. And when they came thyther to the hill, beholde, the companie of prophetes met him, and the spirite of God came vpon him, & he prophecied among the.

11. जब उन सभों ने जो उसे पहिले से जानते थे यह देखा कि वह नबियों के बीच में नबूवत कर रहा है, तब आपस में कहने लगे, कि कीश के पुत्रा को यह क्या हुआ? क्या शाऊल भी नबियों में का है?

11. And all that knewe him before, when they sawe that he prophecied among the prophetes, they sayd eche to other: what is this that is come vnto the sonne of Cis? Is Saul also among the prophetes?

12. वहां के एक मनुष्य ने उत्तर दिया, भला, उनका बाप कौन है? इस पर यह कहावत चलने लगी, कि क्या शाऊल भी नबियों में का है?

12. And one of the same place aunswered, and sayde: Who is their father? And therof came ye prouerbe: What is Saul also among the prophetes?

13. जब वह नबूवत कर चुका, तब ऊंचे स्थान पर चढ़ गया।।

13. And whe he had made an ende of prophecying, he came to the hyghe place.

14. तब शाऊल के चचा ने उस से और उसके सेवक से पूछा, कि तुम कहां गए थे? उस ने कहा, हम तो गदहियों को ढूंढ़ने गए थे; और जब हम ने देखा कि वे कहीं नहीं मिलतीं, तब शमूएल के पास गए।

14. And Sauls vncle sayde vnto him, and to his lad: Whyther went ye? He sayde, To seke the asses: And when we sawe that they were no where, we came to Samuel.

15. शाऊल के चचा ने कहा, मुझे बतला दे कि शमूएल ने तुम से क्या कहा।

15. And Sauls vncle sayde: Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel sayd vnto you?

16. शाऊल ने अपने चचा से कहा, कि उस ने हमें निश्चय करके बतया कि गदहियां मिल गईं। परन्तु जो बात शमूएल ने राज्य के विषय में कही थी वह उस ने उसको न बताई।।

16. Saul aunswered his vncle: He tolde vs plainely that the asses were found. But of ye kingdome wherof Samuel spake, tolde he him not.

17. तब शमूएल ने प्रजा के लोगों को मिस्पा में यहोवा के पास बुलवाया;

17. And Samuel called the people together vnto the Lorde to Mispah,

18. तब उस ने इस्राएलियों से कहा, इस्राएल का परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, कि मैं तो इस्राएल को मि देश से निकाल लाया, और तुम को मिस्त्रियों के हाथ से, और न सब राज्यों के हाथ से जो तुम पर अन्धेर करते थे छुड़ाया है।

18. And sayd vnto the children of Israel: Thus sayde the Lorde God of Israel, I brought Israel out of Egypt, and deliuered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the handes of al kingdomes that troubled you.

19. परन्तु तुम ने आज अपने परमेश्वर को जो सब विपत्तियों और कष्टों से तुम्हारा छुड़ानेवाला है तुच्छ जाना; और उस से कहा है, कि हम पर राजा नियुक्त कर दे। इसलिये अब तुम गोत्रा गोत्रा और हजार हजार करके यहोवा के साम्हने खड़े हो जाओ।

19. And ye haue this day cast away your God, who onely deliuereth you out of al your aduersities and tribulations. And ye haue sayd vnto him: No, but make a king ouer vs. Nowe therfore stande ye before the Lorde by your tribes, & your thousandes.

20. तब शमूएल सारे इस्राएली गोत्रियों को समीप लाया, और चिट्ठी बिन्यामीन के नाम पर निकली।
प्रेरितों के काम 13:21

20. And when Samuel had assembled together all the tribes of Israel, the tribe of Beniamin was taken.

21. तब वह बिन्यामीन के गोत्रा के कुल कुल करके समीप लाया, और चिट्ठी मत्री के कुल के नाम पर निकली; फिर चिट्ठी कीश के पुत्रा शाऊल के नाम पर निकली। और जब वह ढूंढ़ा गया, तब न मिला।

21. When he had assembled together the tribe of Beniamin by their kinredes, the kinred of Matri was caught, and at the last Saul the sonne of Cis was caught: And when they sought him, he coulde not be founde.

22. तब उन्हों ने फिर यहोवा से पूछा, क्या यहां कोई और आनेवाला है? यहोवा ने कहा, हां, सुनो, वह सामान के बीच में छिपा हुआ है।

22. Therfore they asked the Lord further, if the man should yet come thyther? And the Lord aunswered: Behold he hath hyd him selfe among the stuffe.

23. तब वे दौड़कर उसे वहां से लाए; और वह लोगों के बीच में खड़ा हुआ, और वह कान्धे से सिर तक सब लोगों से लम्बा था।

23. And they ranne and set him thence, and when he stoode among the people, he was hygher then any of the people from the shoulders vpwarde.

24. शमूएल ने सब लोगों से कहा, क्या तुम ने यहोवा के चुने हुए को देखा है कि सारे लोगों में कोई उसके बराबर नहीं? तब सक लोग ललकारके बोल उठे, राजा चिरंजीव रहे।।

24. And Samuel said to al the people: See ye not him whom the Lorde hath chosen, and howe there is none lyke him among all the people? And all the people showted, and sayd: God saue the king.

25. तब शमूएल ने लोगों से राजनीति का वर्णन किया, और उसे पुस्तक में लिखकर यहोवा के आगे रख दिया। और शमूएल ने सब लोगों को अपने अपने घर जान को विदा किया।

25. Then Samuel tolde the people the duetie of the kingdome, & wrote it in a booke, and laide it vp before the Lord, and sent all the people away, euery man to his house.

26. और शाऊल गिबा को अपने घर चला गया, और उसके साथ एक दल भी गया जिनके मन को परमेश्वर ने उभारा था।

26. And Saul also went home to Gibea, and there folowed him a band of men, whose heartes God had touched.

27. परन्तु कई लुच्चे लोगों ने कहा, यह जन हमारा क्या उद्धार करेगा? और उन्हों ने उसको तुच्छ जाना, और उसके पास भेंट न लाए। तौभी वह सुनी अनसुनी करके चुप रहा।।

27. But the children of Belial sayd: Howe shall he saue vs? And they despised him, and, brought him no presentes: And he helde his tongue.
