1. तब महायाजक ने कहा, क्या ये बातें यों ही है?

1. Then said ye chiefe priest: Are these thynges so?

2. उस ने कहा; हे भाइयो, और पितरो सुनो, हमारा पिता इब्राहीम हारान में बसने से पहिले जब मिसुपुतामिया में था; तो तेजोमय परमेश्वर ने उसे दर्शन दिया।

2. And he said: Ye men, brethren, and fathers, hearken. The God of glorie appeared vnto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

3. और उस से कहा कि तू अपने देश और अपने कुटुम्ब से निकलकर उस देश मे चला जा, जिसे मैं तुझे दिखाऊंगा।

3. And sayde vnto him: Get thee out of thy countrey, & fro thy kinrede, & come into the lande which I shall shew thee.

4. तब वह कसदियों के देश से निकलकर हारान में जा बसा; और उसके पिता की मृत्यु के बाद परमेश्वर ने उसको वहां से इस देश में लाकर बसाया जिस में अब तुम बसते हो।

4. Then came he out of the lande of the Chaldeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, whe his father was dead, he brought hym into this lande wherin ye nowe dwell.

5. और उसको कुछ मीरास बरन पैर रखने भर की भी उस में जगह न दी, परन्तु प्रतिज्ञा की कि मैं यह देश, तेरे और तेरे बाद तेरे वंश के हाथ कर दूंगा; यद्यपि उस समय उसके कोई पुत्रा भी न था।

5. And he gaue hym none inheritaunce in it, no not the breadth of a foote: and promised that he woulde geue it to hym to possesse, and to his seede after hym, when as yet he had no chylde.

6. God veryly spake on this wyse, that his seede shoulde soiourne in a straunge lande, and that they shoulde kepe it in bondage, and entreate them euyl foure hundreth yeres.

8. And he gaue hym the couenaunt of circumcision: And he begate Isaac, and circumcised hym the eyght day, and Isaac [begate] Iacob, and Iacob [begate] the twelue patriarkes.

9. And the patriarkes moued with enuie, solde Ioseph into Egypt: and God was with hym,

10. और उसे उसके सब क्लेशों से छुड़ाकर मिसर के राजा फिरौन के आगे अनुग्रह और बुद्धि दी, और उस ने उसे मिसर पर और अपने सारे घर पर हाकिम ठहराया।

10. And deliuered hym out of all his aduersities, and gaue hym fauour & wisedome in the syght of Pharao kyng of Egypt: and he made hym gouernour ouer Egypt, & ouer all his housholde.

11. तब मिसर और कनान के सारे देश में अकाल पडा; जिस से भारी क्लेश हुआ, और हमारे बापदादों को अन्न नहीं मिलता था।

11. But there came a dearth ouer all the land of Egypt and Chanaan: and great affliction, that our fathers founde no sustenaunce.

12. परन्तु याकूब ने यह सुनकर, कि मिसर में अनाज है, हमारे बापदादों को पहिली बार भेजा।

12. But when Iacob hearde that there was corne in Egypt, he sent our fathers first.

13. और दूसरी बार यूसुफ अपने भाइयों पर प्रगट को गया, और यूसुुफ की जाति फिरौन को मालूम हो गई।

13. And at the second time, Ioseph was knowen of his brethren, and Iosephes kinrede was made knowen vnto Pharao.

14. तब यूसुफ ने अपने पिता याकूब और अपने सारे कुटुम्ब को, जो पछत्तर व्यक्ति थे, बुला भेजा।

14. Then sent Ioseph, and caused his father to be brought, and all his kynne, three score and fyfteene soules.

15. And Iacob descended into Egypt, and dyed, both he and our fathers,

16. And were caryed ouer into Sichem, and layde in the sepulchre, that Abraha bought for money of the sonnes of Emor, the sonne of Sichem.

17. परन्तु जब उस प्रतिज्ञा के पूरे होने का समय निकट आया, तो परमेश्वर ने इब्राहीम से की थी, तो मिसर में वे लोग बढ़ गए; और बहुत हो गए।

17. But when the tyme of the promyse drewe nye, whiche God had sworne to Abraham, the people grewe and multiplied in Egypt:

18. जब तक कि मिसर में दूसरा राजा न हुआ जो यूसुफ को नहीं जानता था।

18. Tyll another king arose, which knew not of Ioseph.

19. उस ने हमारी जाति से चतुराई करके हमारे बापदादों के साथ यहां तक कुव्योहार किया, कि उन्हें अपने बालकों को फेंक देना पड़ा कि वे जीवित न रहें।

19. The same dealt subtilly with our kinrede, and euyll intreated our fathers, & made them caste out their young chyldren, that they shoulde not remayne alyue.

20. उस समय मूसा उत्पन्न हुआ जो बहुत ही सुन्दर था; और वह तीन महीने तक अपने पिता के घर में पाला गया।

20. The same tyme was Moyses borne, and was acceptable vnto God, and norished vp in his fathers house three monethes.

21. परन्तु जब फेंक दिया गया तो फिरौन की बेटी ने उसे उठा लिया, और अपना पुत्रा करके पाला।

21. And when he was cast out, Pharaos daughter toke hym vp, & norished hym for her owne sonne.

22. और मूसा को मिसरियों की सारी विद्या पढ़ाई गई, और वह बातों और कामों में सामर्थी था।

22. And Moyses was learned in all maner of wisedome of the Egyptians, and was myghtie in deedes and in wordes.

23. जब वह चालीस वर्ष का हुआ, तो उसके मन में आया कि मैं अपने इस्त्राएली भाइयों से भेंट करूं।

23. And when he was full fourtie yeres olde, it came into his heart to visite his brethren the chyldren of Israel.

24. और उस ने एक व्यक्ति पर अन्याय होने देखकर, उसे बचाया, और मिसरी को मारकर सताए हुए का पलटा लिया।

24. And when he sawe one of them suffer wrong, he defended hym, and auenged his quarrell that had the harme done to hym, and smote the Egyptian.

25. उस ने सोचा, कि मेरे भाई समझेंगे कि परमेश्वर मेरे हाथों से उन का उद्धार करेगा, परन्तु उन्हों ने न समझा।

25. For he supposed his brethren woulde haue vnderstande, howe that God by his hande shoulde delyuer them: But they vnderstoode not.

26. दूसरे दिन जब वे आपस में लड़ रहे थे, तो वह वहां आ निकला; और यह कहके उन्हें मेल करने के लिये समझाया, कि हे पुरूषो, तुम तो भाई भाई हो, एक दूसरे पर क्यों अन्याय करते हो?

26. And the next day he shewed hym selfe vnto them as they stroue, and woulde haue set them at one agayne, saying: Sirs, ye are brethren, why do ye wrong one to another?

27. परन्तु जो अपने पड़ोसी पर अन्याय कर रहा था, उस ने उसे यह कहकर हटा दिया, कि तुझे किस ने हम पर हाकिम और न्यायी ठहराया है?

27. But he that did his neighbour wrong, thrust hym awaye, saying: Who made thee a ruler and a iudge ouer vs?

28. क्या जिस रीति से तू ने कल मिसरी को मार डाला मुझे भी मार डालना चाहता है?

28. Wylt thou kyll me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?

29. यह बात सुनकर, मूसा भागा; और मिद्यान देश में परदेशी होकर रहने लगा: और वहां उसके दो पुत्रा उत्पन्न हुए।

29. Then fledde Moyses at that saying, and was a straunger in the lande of Madian, where he begate two sonnes.

30. जब पूरे चालीस वर्ष बीत गए, तो एक स्वर्ग दूत ने सीनै पहाड़ के जंगल में उसे जलती हुई झाड़ी की ज्वाला में दर्शन दिया।

30. And whe fourtie yeres were expired, there appeared to hym in the wyldernesse of mount Sina, an Angel of the Lorde in a flambe of fire in a busshe.

31. मूसा ने उस दर्शन को देखकर अचम्भा किया, और जब देखने के लिये पास गया, तो प्रभु का यह शब्द हुआ।

31. When Moyses sawe it, he wondred at ye sight: And as he drue neare to behold, the voyce of the Lord came vnto hym.

32. कि मैं तेरे बापदादों, इब्राहीम, इसहाक और याकूब का परमेश्वर हूं: तब तो मूसा कांप उठा, यहां तक कि उसे देखने का हियाव न रहा।

32. I am the God of thy fathers, ye God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and ye God of Iacob. Then Moyses trembled, & durst not beholde.

33. तब प्रभु ने उस से कहा; अपने पावों से जूती उतार ले, क्योंकि जिस जगह तू खड़ा है, वह पवित्रा भूमि है।

33. Then sayde the Lorde to hym: Put of thy shoes from thy feete, for the place where thou standest, is holy grounde.

34. मैं ने सचमुच अपने लोगों की दुर्दशा को जो मिसर में है, देखी है; और उन की आह और उन का रोना सुन लिया है; इसलिये उन्हें छुड़ाने के लिये उतरा हूं। अब आ, मैं तुझे मिसर में भेंजूंगा।

34. I haue seene, I haue seene the afflictio of my people which is in Egypt, and I haue hearde their gronyng, and am come downe to deliuer them: And now come, & I wyll sende thee into Egypt.

35. जिस मूसा को उन्हों ने यह कहकर नकारा था कि तुझे किस ने हम पर हाकिम और न्यायी ठहराया है; उसी को परमेश्वर ने हाकिम और छुड़ानेवाला ठहराकर, उस स्वर्ग दूत के द्वारा जिस ने उसे झाड़ी में दर्शन दिया था, भेजा।

35. This Moyses, whom they forsoke saying, who made thee a ruler and a iudge? the same dyd God sende, to be a ruler, and a deliuerer, by the handes of the angell, whiche appeared to hym in the busshe.

36. यही व्यक्ति मिसर और लाल समुद्र और जंगल में चालीस वर्ष तक अद्भुत काम और चिन्ह दिखा दिखाकर उन्हें निकाल लाया।

36. He brought them out, shewyng wonders and signes in Egypt, & in the read sea, & in the wyldernesse fourtie yeres.

37. यह वही मूसा है, जिस ने इस्त्राएलियों से कहा; कि परमेश्वर तुम्हारे भाइयों में से तुम्हारे लिये मुझ सा एक भविष्यद्वक्ता उठाएगा।

37. This is that Moyses which saide vnto the chyldren of Israel: A prophete shall the Lorde your God raise vp vnto you of your brethren, lyke vnto me, him shall ye heare.

38. यह वही है, जिस ने जंगल में कलीसिया के बीच उस स्वर्गदूत के साथ सीनै पहाड़ पर उस से बातें की, और हमारे बापदादों के साथ था: उसी को जीवित वचन मिले, कि हम तक पहुंचाए।

38. This is he that was in the Churche in ye wyldernesse with the angel, which spake to hym in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: This man receaued the worde of lyfe to geue vnto vs.

39. परन्तु हमारे बापदादों ने उस की मानना न चाहा; बरन उसे हटाकर अपने मन मिसर की ओर फेरे।

39. To whom our fathers woulde not obey, but thrust it from them, and in their hearts turned backe againe into Egypt,

40. Saying vnto Aaron, Make vs gods to go before vs. For as for this Moyses that brought vs out of the lande of Egypt, we wote not what is become of hym.

41. उन दिनों में उन्हों ने एक बछड़ा बनाकर, उस की मूरत के आगे बलि चढ़ाया; और अपने हाथों के कामों में मगन होने लगे।

41. And they made a Calfe in those dayes, and offred sacrifice vnto the idoll, and reioyced ouer the workes of their owne handes.

42. सो परमेश्वर ने मुंह मोड़कर उन्हें छोड़ दिया, कि आकशगण पूजें; जैसा भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की पुस्तक में लिखा है; कि हे इस्त्राएल के घराने, क्या तुम जंगल में चालीस वर्ष तक पशुबलि और अन्नबलि मुझ ही को चढ़ाते रहे?

42. Then God turned hym selfe away, & gaue them vp to worship the hoast of heauen, as it is written in ye booke of the prophetes: O ye house of Israel, haue ye offered to me slayne beastes, and sacrifices, by the space of fourtie yeres in the wyldernesse?

43. और तुम मोलेक के तम्बू और रिफान देवता के तारे को लिए फिरते थे; अर्थात् उन आकारों को जिन्हें तुम ने दण्डवत करने के लिये बनाया था: सो मैं तुम्हें बाबुर के परे ले जाकर बसाऊंगा।

43. And ye toke vnto you the tabernacle of Moloch, and the starre of your god Remphan, figures whiche ye made to worship them: And I wyll carry you away beyonde Babylon.

44. Our fathers had ye tabernacle of witnesse in the wyldernesse, as he had appoynted, speakyng vnto Moyses, that he shoulde make it accordyng to the fasshion that he had seene.

45. Whiche also our fathers that came after, brought in with Iesus into the possession of the gentiles, who God draue out before the face of our fathers, vnto the dayes of Dauid.

46. Which founde fauour before God, and woulde fayne haue founde a tabernacle for the God of Iacob.

48. परन्तु परम प्रधान हाथ के बनाए घरों में नहीं रहता, जैसा कि भविष्यद्वक्ता ने कहा।

48. Howebeit, he that is hyest of al, dwelleth not in teples made with handes, as sayth the prophete:

49. कि प्रभु कहता है, स्वर्ग मेरा सिहांसन और पृथ्वी मेरे पांवों तले की पीढ़ी है, मेरे लिये तुम किस प्रकार का घर बनाओगे? और मेरे विश्राम का कौन सा स्थान होगा?

49. Heauen is my seate, and earth is my footstoole. What house wyll ye buylde for me, saith the Lord? Or which is the place of my rest?

50. क्या ये सब वस्तुएं मेरे हाथ की बनाई नहीं? हे हठीले, और मन और कान के खतनारहित लोगो, तुम सदा पवित्रा आत्मा का साम्हना करते हो।

50. Hath not my hande made all these thynges?

51. Ye styfnecked and of vncircumcised heartes and eares, ye haue alwayes resisted the holy ghost: as your fathers dyd, so do ye.

53. तुम ने स्वर्गदूतों के द्वारा ठहराई हुई व्यवस्था तो पाई, परन्तु उसका पालन नहीं किया।।

53. Whiche also haue receaued the lawe, by the disposition of angels, and haue not kept it.

54. ये बातें सुनकर वे जल गए और उस पर दांत पीसने लगे।

54. When they hearde these thynges, their heartes claue a sunder, and they gnasshed on hym with their teeth.

55. परन्तु उस ने पवित्रा आत्मा से परिपूर्ण होकर स्वर्ग की ओर देखा और परमेश्वर की महिमा को और यीशु को परमेश्वर की दहिनी ओर खड़ा देखकर।

55. But he being full of the holy ghost, loked vp stedfastly into heauen, and sawe the glory of God, and Iesus standyng on the ryght hande of God,

56. कहा; देखों, मैं स्वर्ग को खुला हुआ, और मनुष्य के पुत्रा को परमेश्वर के दहिनी ओर खड़ा हुआ देखता हूं।

56. And sayde: Beholde, I see the heauens open, & the sonne of man standyng on the ryght hande of God.

57. तब उन्हों ने बड़े शब्द से चिल्लाकर कान बन्द कर लिए, और एक चित्त होकर उस पर झपटे।

57. Then they gaue a shoute with a loude voyce, and stopped their eares, and ran vpon hym all at once,

58. और उसे नगर के बाहर निकालकर पत्थरवाह करने लगे, और गवाहों ने अपने कपड़े उतार रखे।

58. And cast hym out of the citie, and stoned him. And ye witnesses layde downe their clothes at a young mans feete, whose name was Saul.

59. और वे स्तिुफनुस को पत्थरवाह करते रहे, और वह यह कहकर प्रार्थना करता रहा; कि हे प्रभु यीशु, मेरी आत्मा को ग्रहण कर।

59. And they stoned Steuen, callyng on, and saying: Lorde Iesu receaue my spirite.

60. फिर घुटने टेककर ऊंचे शब्द से पुकारा, हे प्रभु, यह पाप उन पर मत लगा, और यह कहकर सो गया: और शाऊल उसके बध मे सहमत था।।

60. And he kneeled downe, and cryed with a loude voyce: Lorde lay not this sinne to their charge. And when he had thus spoken, he fell a sleepe.
