1. कोमल उत्तर सुनने से जलजलाहट ठण्डी होती है, परन्तु कटुवचन से क्रोध धधक उठता है।

1. A gentle answer quiets anger, but a harsh one stirs it up.

2. बुद्धिमान ज्ञान का ठीक बखान करते हैं, परन्तु मूर्खों के मुंह से मूढ़ता उबल आती है।

2. When wise people speak, they make knowledge attractive, but stupid people spout nonsense.

3. यहोवा की आंखें सब स्थानों में लगी रहती हैं, वह बुरे भले दोनों को देखती रहती हैं।

3. The LORD sees what happens everywhere; he is watching us, whether we do good or evil.

4. शान्ति देनेवाली बात जीवन- वृक्ष है, परन्तु उलट फेर की बात से आत्मा दु:खित होती है।

4. Kind words bring life, but cruel words crush your spirit.

5. मूढ़ अपने पिता की शिक्षा का तिरस्कार करता है, परन्तु जो डांट को मानता, वह चतुर हो जाता है।

5. It is foolish to ignore what your parents taught you; it is wise to accept their correction.

6. धर्मी के घर में बहुत धन रहता है, परन्तु दुष्ट के उपार्जन में दु:ख रहता है।

6. Righteous people keep their wealth, but the wicked lose theirs when hard times come.

7. बुद्धिमान लोग बातें करने से ज्ञान को फैलाते हैं, परन्तु मूर्खों का मन ठीक नहीं रहता।

7. Knowledge is spread by people who are wise, not by fools.

8. दुष्ट लोगों के बलिदान से यहोवा धृणा करता है, परन्तु वह सीधे लोगों की प्रार्थना से प्रसन्न होता है।

8. The LORD is pleased when good people pray, but hates the sacrifices that the wicked bring him.

9. दुष्ट के चालचलन से यहोवा को घृणा आती है, परन्तु जो धर्म का पीछा करता उस से वह प्रेम रखता है।

9. The LORD hates the ways of evil people, but loves those who do what is right.

10. जो मार्ग को छोड़ देता, उसको बड़ी ताड़ना मिलती है, और जो डांट से बैर रखता, वह अवश्य मर जाता है।

10. If you do what is wrong, you will be severely punished; you will die if you do not let yourself be corrected.

11. जब कि अधोलोक और विनाशलोक यहोवा के साम्हने खुले रहते हैं, तो निश्चय मनुष्यों के मन भी।

11. Not even the world of the dead can keep the LORD from knowing what is there; how then can we hide our thoughts from God?

12. ठट्ठा करनेवाला डांटे जाने से प्रसन्न नहीं होता, और न वह बुद्धिमानों के पास जाता है।

12. Conceited people do not like to be corrected; they never ask for advice from those who are wiser.

13. मन आनन्दित होने से मुख पर भी प्रसन्नता छा जाती है, परन्तु मन के दु:ख से आत्मा निराश होती है।

13. When people are happy, they smile, but when they are sad, they look depressed.

14. समझनेवाले का मन ज्ञान की खोज में रहता है, परन्तु मूर्ख लोग मूढ़ता से पेट भरते हैं।

14. Intelligent people want to learn, but stupid people are satisfied with ignorance.

15. दुखिया के सब दिन दु:ख भरे रहते हैं, परन्तु जिसका मन प्रसन्न रहता है, वह मानो नित्य भोज में जाता है।

15. The life of the poor is a constant struggle, but happy people always enjoy life.

16. घबराहट के साथ बहुत रखे हुए धन से, यहोवा के भय के साथ थोड़ा ही धन उत्तम है,

16. Better to be poor and fear the LORD than to be rich and in trouble.

17. प्रेम वाले घर में सागपात का भोजन, बैर वाले घर में पाले हुए बैल का मांस खाने से उत्तम है।

17. Better to eat vegetables with people you love than to eat the finest meat where there is hate.

18. क्रोधी पुरूष झगड़ा मचाता है, परन्तु जो विलम्ब से क्रोध करनेवाला है, वह मुक मों को दबा देता है।

18. Hot tempers cause arguments, but patience brings peace.

19. आलसी का मार्ग कांटों से रून्धा हुआ होता है, परन्तु सीधे लोगों का मार्ग राजमार्ग ठहरता है।

19. If you are lazy, you will meet difficulty everywhere, but if you are honest, you will have no trouble.

20. बुद्धिमान पुत्रा से पिता आनन्दित होता है, परन्तु मूर्ख अपनी माता को तुच्छ जानता है।

20. Wise children make their fathers happy. Only fools despise their mothers.

21. निर्बुद्धि को मूढ़ता से आनन्द होता है, परन्तु समझवाला मनुष्य सीधी चाल चलता है।

21. Stupid people are happy with their foolishness, but the wise will do what is right.

22. बिना सम्मति की कल्पनाएं निष्फल हुआ करती हैं, परन्तु बहुत से मंत्रियों की सम्मत्ति से बात ठहरती है।

22. Get all the advice you can, and you will succeed; without it you will fail.

23. सज्जन उत्तर देने से आनन्दित होता है, और अवसर पर कहा हुआ वचन क्या ही भला होता है!

23. What a joy it is to find just the right word for the right occasion!

24. बुद्धिमान के लिये जीवन का मार्ग ऊपर की ओर जाता है, इस रीति से वह अधोलोक में पड़ने से बच जाता है।

24. Wise people walk the road that leads upward to life, not the road that leads downward to death.

25. यहोवा अहंकारियों के घर को ढा देता है, परन्तु विधवा के सिवाने को अटल रखता है।

25. The LORD will destroy the homes of arrogant men, but he will protect a widow's property.

26. बुरी कल्पनाएं यहोवा को घिनौनी लगती हैं, परन्तु शुद्ध जन के वचन मनभावने हैं।

26. The LORD hates evil thoughts, but he is pleased with friendly words.

27. लालची अपने घराने को दु:ख देता है, परन्तु घूस से घृणा करनेवाला जीवित रहता है।

27. Try to make a profit dishonestly, and you get your family in trouble. Don't take bribes and you will live longer.

28. धर्मी मन में सोचता है कि क्या उत्तर दूं, परन्तु दुष्टों के मुंह से बुरी बातें उबल आती हैं।

28. Good people think before they answer. Evil people have a quick reply, but it causes trouble.

29. यहोवा दुष्टों से दूर रहता है, परन्तु धर्मियों की प्रार्थना सुनता है।

29. When good people pray, the LORD listens, but he ignores those who are evil.

30. आंखों की चमक से मन को आनन्द होता है, और अच्छे समाचार से हडि्डयां पुष्ट होती हैं।

30. Smiling faces make you happy, and good news makes you feel better.

31. जो जीवनदायी डांट कान लगाकर सुनता है, वह बुद्धिमानों के संग ठिकाना पाता है।

31. If you pay attention when you are corrected, you are wise.

32. जो शिक्षा को सुनी- अनसुनी करता, वह अपने प्राण को तुच्छ जानता है, परन्तु जो डांट को सुनता, वह बुद्धि प्राप्त करता है।

32. If you refuse to learn, you are hurting yourself. If you accept correction, you will become wiser.

33. यहोवा के भय मानने से शिक्षा प्राप्त होती है, और महिमा से पहिले नम्रता होती है।।

33. Reverence for the LORD is an education in itself. You must be humble before you can ever receive honors.
