1. कोमल उत्तर सुनने से जलजलाहट ठण्डी होती है, परन्तु कटुवचन से क्रोध धधक उठता है।

2. बुद्धिमान ज्ञान का ठीक बखान करते हैं, परन्तु मूर्खों के मुंह से मूढ़ता उबल आती है।

3. यहोवा की आंखें सब स्थानों में लगी रहती हैं, वह बुरे भले दोनों को देखती रहती हैं।

3. The Lord's eyes see everything; he watches both evil and good people.

4. शान्ति देनेवाली बात जीवन- वृक्ष है, परन्तु उलट फेर की बात से आत्मा दु:खित होती है।

4. As a tree gives fruit, healing words give life, but dishonest words crush the spirit.

5. मूढ़ अपने पिता की शिक्षा का तिरस्कार करता है, परन्तु जो डांट को मानता, वह चतुर हो जाता है।

5. Fools reject their parents' correction, but anyone who accepts correction is wise.

6. धर्मी के घर में बहुत धन रहता है, परन्तु दुष्ट के उपार्जन में दु:ख रहता है।

6. Much wealth is in the houses of good people, but evil people get nothing but trouble.

7. बुद्धिमान लोग बातें करने से ज्ञान को फैलाते हैं, परन्तु मूर्खों का मन ठीक नहीं रहता।

7. Wise people use their words to spread knowledge, but there is no knowledge in the thoughts of fools.

8. दुष्ट लोगों के बलिदान से यहोवा धृणा करता है, परन्तु वह सीधे लोगों की प्रार्थना से प्रसन्न होता है।

8. The Lord hates the sacrifice that the wicked offer, but he likes the prayers of honest people.

9. दुष्ट के चालचलन से यहोवा को घृणा आती है, परन्तु जो धर्म का पीछा करता उस से वह प्रेम रखता है।

9. The Lord hates what evil people do, but he loves those who do what is right.

10. जो मार्ग को छोड़ देता, उसको बड़ी ताड़ना मिलती है, और जो डांट से बैर रखता, वह अवश्य मर जाता है।

10. The person who quits doing what is right will be punished, and the one who hates to be corrected will die.

11. जब कि अधोलोक और विनाशलोक यहोवा के साम्हने खुले रहते हैं, तो निश्चय मनुष्यों के मन भी।

11. The Lord knows what is happening in the world of the dead, so he surely knows the thoughts of the living.

12. ठट्ठा करनेवाला डांटे जाने से प्रसन्न नहीं होता, और न वह बुद्धिमानों के पास जाता है।

12. Those who make fun of wisdom don't like to be corrected; they will not ask the wise for advice.

13. मन आनन्दित होने से मुख पर भी प्रसन्नता छा जाती है, परन्तु मन के दु:ख से आत्मा निराश होती है।

13. Happiness makes a person smile, but sadness can break a person's spirit.

14. समझनेवाले का मन ज्ञान की खोज में रहता है, परन्तु मूर्ख लोग मूढ़ता से पेट भरते हैं।

14. People with understanding want more knowledge, but fools just want more foolishness.

15. दुखिया के सब दिन दु:ख भरे रहते हैं, परन्तु जिसका मन प्रसन्न रहता है, वह मानो नित्य भोज में जाता है।

15. Every day is hard for those who suffer, but a happy heart is like a continual feast.

16. घबराहट के साथ बहुत रखे हुए धन से, यहोवा के भय के साथ थोड़ा ही धन उत्तम है,

16. It is better to be poor and respect the Lord than to be wealthy and have much trouble.

17. प्रेम वाले घर में सागपात का भोजन, बैर वाले घर में पाले हुए बैल का मांस खाने से उत्तम है।

17. It is better to eat vegetables with those who love you than to eat meat with those who hate you.

18. क्रोधी पुरूष झगड़ा मचाता है, परन्तु जो विलम्ब से क्रोध करनेवाला है, वह मुक मों को दबा देता है।

18. People with quick tempers cause trouble, but those who control their tempers stop a quarrel.

19. आलसी का मार्ग कांटों से रून्धा हुआ होता है, परन्तु सीधे लोगों का मार्ग राजमार्ग ठहरता है।

19. A lazy person's life is like a patch of thorns, but an honest person's life is like a smooth highway.

20. बुद्धिमान पुत्रा से पिता आनन्दित होता है, परन्तु मूर्ख अपनी माता को तुच्छ जानता है।

20. A wise son makes his father happy, but a foolish son disrespects his mother.

21. निर्बुद्धि को मूढ़ता से आनन्द होता है, परन्तु समझवाला मनुष्य सीधी चाल चलता है।

21. A person without wisdom enjoys being foolish, but someone with understanding does what is right.

22. बिना सम्मति की कल्पनाएं निष्फल हुआ करती हैं, परन्तु बहुत से मंत्रियों की सम्मत्ति से बात ठहरती है।

22. Plans fail without good advice, but they succeed with the advice of many others.

23. सज्जन उत्तर देने से आनन्दित होता है, और अवसर पर कहा हुआ वचन क्या ही भला होता है!

23. People enjoy giving good advice. Saying the right word at the right time is so pleasing.

24. बुद्धिमान के लिये जीवन का मार्ग ऊपर की ओर जाता है, इस रीति से वह अधोलोक में पड़ने से बच जाता है।

24. Wise people's lives get better and better. They avoid whatever would cause their death.

25. यहोवा अहंकारियों के घर को ढा देता है, परन्तु विधवा के सिवाने को अटल रखता है।

25. The Lord will tear down the proud person's house, but he will protect the widow's property.

26. बुरी कल्पनाएं यहोवा को घिनौनी लगती हैं, परन्तु शुद्ध जन के वचन मनभावने हैं।

26. The Lord hates evil thoughts but is pleased with kind words.

27. लालची अपने घराने को दु:ख देता है, परन्तु घूस से घृणा करनेवाला जीवित रहता है।

27. Greedy people bring trouble to their families, but the person who can't be paid to do wrong will live.

28. धर्मी मन में सोचता है कि क्या उत्तर दूं, परन्तु दुष्टों के मुंह से बुरी बातें उबल आती हैं।

28. Good people think before they answer, but the wicked simply pour out evil.

29. यहोवा दुष्टों से दूर रहता है, परन्तु धर्मियों की प्रार्थना सुनता है।

30. आंखों की चमक से मन को आनन्द होता है, और अच्छे समाचार से हडि्डयां पुष्ट होती हैं।

30. Good news makes you feel better. Your happiness will show in your eyes.

31. जो जीवनदायी डांट कान लगाकर सुनता है, वह बुद्धिमानों के संग ठिकाना पाता है।

31. If you listen to correction to improve your life, you will live among the wise.

32. जो शिक्षा को सुनी- अनसुनी करता, वह अपने प्राण को तुच्छ जानता है, परन्तु जो डांट को सुनता, वह बुद्धि प्राप्त करता है।

32. Those who refuse correction hate themselves, but those who accept correction gain understanding.

33. यहोवा के भय मानने से शिक्षा प्राप्त होती है, और महिमा से पहिले नम्रता होती है।।

33. Respect for the Lord will teach you wisdom. If you want to be honored, you must be humble.
