1. मैं परमेश्वर की दोहाई चिल्ला चिल्लाकर दूंगा, मैं परमेश्वर की दोहाई दूंगा, और वह मेरी ओर कान लगाएगा।

2. संकट के दिन मैं प्रभु की खोज में लगा रहा; रात को मेरा हाथ फैला रहा, और ढीला न हुआ, मुझ में शांति आई ही नहीं।

2. In the day of my distress I sought the Lord; all night I tirelessly stretched out my hands, my heart refused to be consoled.

3. मैं परमेश्वर का स्मरण कर करके कहरता हूं; मैं चिन्ता करते करते मूर्छित हो चला हूं। (सेला)

3. I sigh as I think of God, my spirit faints away as I ponder on him. Pause

4. तू मुझे झपकी लगने नहीं देता; मैं ऐसा घबराया हूं कि मेरे मुंह से बात नहीं निकलती।।

4. You kept me from closing my eyes, I was too distraught to speak;

5. मैं प्राचीनकाल के दिनों को, और युग युग के वर्षों को सोचा है।

5. I thought of former times, years long past

6. मैं रात के समय अपने गीत को स्मरण करता; और मन में ध्यान करता हूं, और मन में भली भांति विचार करता हूं:

6. I recalled; through the night I ponder in my heart, as I reflect, my spirit asks this question:

7. क्या प्रभु युग युग के लिये छोड़ देगा; और फिर कभी प्रसन्न न होगा?

7. Is the Lord's rejection final? Will he never show favour again?

8. क्या उसकी करूणा सदा के लिये जाती रही? क्या उसका वचन पीढ़ी पीढ़ी के लिये निष्फल हो गया है?

8. Is his faithful love gone for ever? Has his Word come to an end for all time?

9. क्या ईश्वर अनुग्रह करना भूल गया? क्या उस ने क्रोध करके अपनी सब दया को रोक रखा है? (सेला)

9. Does God forget to show mercy? In anger does he shut off his tenderness?Pause

10. मैने कहा यह तो मेरी दुर्बलता ही है, परन्तु मैं परमप्रधान के दहिने हाथ के वर्षों को विचारता हूं।।

10. And I said, 'This is what wounds me, the right hand of the Most High has lost its strength.'

11. मैं याह के बड़े कामों की चर्चा करूंगा; निश्चय मैं तेरे प्राचीनकालवाले अद्भुत कामों को स्मरण करूंगा।

11. Remembering Yahweh's great deeds, remembering your wonders in the past,

12. मैं तेरे सब कामों पर ध्यान करूंगा, और तेरे बड़े कामों को सोचूंगा।

12. I reflect on all that you did, I ponder all your great deeds.

13. हे परमेश्वर तेरी गति पवित्राता की है। कौन सा देवता परमेश्वर के तुल्य बड़ा है?

13. God, your ways are holy! What god is as great as our God?

14. अद्भुत काम करनेवाला ईश्वर तू ही है, तू ने अपने देश देश के लोगों पर अपनी शक्ति प्रगट की है।

14. You are the God who does marvellous deeds, brought nations to acknowledge your power,

15. तू ने अपने भुजबल से अपनी प्रजा, याकूब और यूसुफ के वंश को छुड़ा लिया है।। (सेला)

15. with your own arm redeeming your people, the children of Jacob and Joseph.Pause

16. हे परमेश्वर समुद्र ने तुझे देखा, समुद्र तुझे देखकर ड़र गया, गहिरा सागर भी कांप उठा।

16. When the waters saw you, God, when the waters saw you they writhed in anguish, the very depths shook with fear.

17. मेघों से बड़ी वर्षा हुई; आकाश से शब्द हुआ; फिर तेरे तीर इधर उधर चले।

17. The clouds pelted down water, the sky thundered, your arrows shot back and forth.

18. बवणडर में तेरे गरजने का शब्द सुन पड़ा था; जगत बिजली से प्रकाशित हुआ; पृथ्वी कांपी और हिल गई।

18. The rolling of your thunder was heard, your lightning-flashes lit up the world, the earth shuddered and shook.

19. तेरे मार्ग समुद्र में है, और तेरा रास्ता गहिरे जल में हुआ; और तेरे पांवों के चिन्ह मालम नहीं होते।

19. Your way led over the sea, your path over the countless waters, and none could trace your footsteps.

20. तू ने मूसा और हारून के द्धारा, अपनी प्रजा की अगुवाई भेड़ों की सी की।।

20. You guided your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
