1. I cry out to God; yes, I shout. Oh, that God would listen to me!

2. When I was in deep trouble, I searched for the Lord. All night long I prayed, with hands lifted toward heaven, but my soul was not comforted.

3. I think of God, and I moan, overwhelmed with longing for his help. Interlude

4. You don't let me sleep. I am too distressed even to pray!

5. मैं प्राचीनकाल के दिनों को, और युग युग के वर्षों को सोचा है।

5. I think of the good old days, long since ended,

6. मैं रात के समय अपने गीत को स्मरण करता; और मन में ध्यान करता हूं, और मन में भली भांति विचार करता हूं:

6. when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now.

7. Has the Lord rejected me forever? Will he never again be kind to me?

8. क्या उसकी करूणा सदा के लिये जाती रही? क्या उसका वचन पीढ़ी पीढ़ी के लिये निष्फल हो गया है?

8. Is his unfailing love gone forever? Have his promises permanently failed?

9. क्या ईश्वर अनुग्रह करना भूल गया? क्या उस ने क्रोध करके अपनी सब दया को रोक रखा है? (सेला)

9. Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he slammed the door on his compassion? Interlude

10. मैने कहा यह तो मेरी दुर्बलता ही है, परन्तु मैं परमप्रधान के दहिने हाथ के वर्षों को विचारता हूं।।

10. And I said, 'This is my fate; the Most High has turned his hand against me.'

11. मैं याह के बड़े कामों की चर्चा करूंगा; निश्चय मैं तेरे प्राचीनकालवाले अद्भुत कामों को स्मरण करूंगा।

11. But then I recall all you have done, O LORD; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.

12. मैं तेरे सब कामों पर ध्यान करूंगा, और तेरे बड़े कामों को सोचूंगा।

12. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.

13. हे परमेश्वर तेरी गति पवित्राता की है। कौन सा देवता परमेश्वर के तुल्य बड़ा है?

13. O God, your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as you?

14. अद्भुत काम करनेवाला ईश्वर तू ही है, तू ने अपने देश देश के लोगों पर अपनी शक्ति प्रगट की है।

14. You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations.

15. तू ने अपने भुजबल से अपनी प्रजा, याकूब और यूसुफ के वंश को छुड़ा लिया है।। (सेला)

15. By your strong arm, you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Interlude

16. हे परमेश्वर समुद्र ने तुझे देखा, समुद्र तुझे देखकर ड़र गया, गहिरा सागर भी कांप उठा।

16. When the Red Sea saw you, O God, its waters looked and trembled! The sea quaked to its very depths.

17. मेघों से बड़ी वर्षा हुई; आकाश से शब्द हुआ; फिर तेरे तीर इधर उधर चले।

17. The clouds poured down rain; the thunder rumbled in the sky. Your arrows of lightning flashed.

18. बवणडर में तेरे गरजने का शब्द सुन पड़ा था; जगत बिजली से प्रकाशित हुआ; पृथ्वी कांपी और हिल गई।

18. Your thunder roared from the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the world! The earth trembled and shook.

19. तेरे मार्ग समुद्र में है, और तेरा रास्ता गहिरे जल में हुआ; और तेरे पांवों के चिन्ह मालम नहीं होते।

19. Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters-- a pathway no one knew was there!

20. तू ने मूसा और हारून के द्धारा, अपनी प्रजा की अगुवाई भेड़ों की सी की।।

20. You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds. A psalm of Asaph.
