1. इस्राएल अब यह कहे, कि मेरे बचपन से लोग मुझे बार बार क्लेश देते आए हैं,

2. मेरे बचपन से वे मुझ को बार बार क्लेश देते तो आए हैं, परन्तु मुझ पर प्रबल नहीं हुए।

3. हलवाहों ने मेरी पीठ के ऊपर हल चलाया, और लम्बी लम्बी रेखाएं कीं।

3. The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.'

4. यहोवा धर्मी है; उस ने दुष्टों के फन्दों को काट डाला है।

4. The LORD is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked.

5. जितने सिरयोन से बैर रखते हैं, उन सभों की आशा टूटे, ओर उनको पीछे हटना पड़े!

5. May all who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backward!

6. वे छत पर की घास के समान हों, जो बढ़ने से पहिले सूख जाती है;

6. Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up,

7. जिस से कोई लवैया अपनी मुट्ठी नहीं भरता, न पूलियों का कोई बान्धनेवाला अपनी अंकवार भर पाता है,

7. with which the reaper does not fill his hand or the binder of sheaves his bosom,

8. और न आने जानेवाले यह कहते हैं, कि यहोवा की आशीष तुम पर होवे! हम तुम को यहोवा के नाम से आशीर्वाद देते हैं!

8. while those who pass by do not say, 'The blessing of the LORD be upon you! We bless you in the name of the LORD!'
