1. फिर दाऊद और सेनापतियों ने आसाप, हेमान और यदूतून के कितने पुत्रों को सेवकाई के लिये अलग किया कि वे वीणा, सारंगी और झांझ बजा बजाकर नबूवत करें। और इस सेवकाई के काम करनेवाले मनुष्यों की गिनती यह थी :

1. ALSO DAVID and the chiefs of the host [of the Lord] separated to the [temple] service some of the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, who should prophesy [being inspired] with lyres, harps, and cymbals. The list of the musicians according to their service was:

2. अर्थात् आसाप के पुत्रों में से तो जक्कूर, योसेप, नतन्याह और अशरेला, आसाप के ये पुत्रा आसाप ही की आज्ञा में थे, जो राजा की आज्ञा के अनुसार नबूवत करता था।

2. Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied (witnessed and testified under divine inspiration) in keeping with the king's order.

3. फिर यदूतून के पुत्रों में से गदल्याह, सरीयशायाह, हसब्याह, मत्तित्याह, ये ही छे अपने पिता यदूतून की आज्ञा में होकर जो यहोवा का धन्यवाद और स्तुति कर करके नबूवत करता था, वीणा बजाते थे।

3. Of the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six in all, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who witnessed and prophesied under divine inspiration with the lyre in thanksgiving and praise to the Lord.

4. और हेमान के पुत्रों में से, मुक्किरयाह, मत्तन्याह, लज्जीएल, शबूएल, यरीमोत, हनन्याह, हनानी, एलीआता, गि लती, रोममतीएजेर, योशबकाशा, मल्लोती, होतीर और महजीओत।

4. Of Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

5. परमेश्वर की प्रतिज्ञानुकूल जो उसका नाम बढ़ाने की थी, ये सब हेमान के पुत्रा थे जो राजा का दश था; क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने हेमान को चौदह बेटे और तीन बेटियां दीं थीं।

5. All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer [his mediator] in the words and things of God to exalt Him; for God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters, [Ps. 68:25.]

6. ये सब यहोवा के भवन में गाने के लिये अपने अपने पिता के अधीन रहकर, परमेश्वर के भवन, की सेवकाई में झांझ, सारंगी और वीणा बजाते थे। और आसाप, यदूतून और हेमान राजा के अधीन रहते थे।

6. All of whom were [in the choir] under the direction of their father for song in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, harps, and lyres, for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the order of the king.

7. इन सभों की गिनती भाइयों समेत जो यहोवा के गीत सीखे हुए और सब प्रकार से निपुण थे, दो सौ अठासी थी।

7. So the number of them [who led the remainder of the 4,000], with their kinsmen who were specially trained in songs for the Lord, all who were talented singers, was 288. [I Chron. 23:5.]

8. और उन्हों ने क्या बड़ा, क्या छोटा, क्या गुरू, क्या चेला, अपनी अपनी बारी के लिये चिट्ठी डाली।

8. [The musicians] cast lots for their duties, small and great, teacher and scholar alike.

9. और पहिली चिट्ठी आसाप के बेटों में से योसेप के नाम पर निकली, दूसरी गदल्याह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

9. The first lot fell for Asaph to Joseph; the second to Gedaliah, to him, his brethren and his sons, twelve;

10. तीसरी जक्कूर के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

10. The third to Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

11. चौथी यिस्री के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

11. The fourth to Izri, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

12. पांचवीं नतन्याह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

12. The fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

13. छठीं बुक्किरयाह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

13. The sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

14. सातवीं यसरेला के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

14. The seventh to Jesharelah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

15. आठवीं यशायाह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

15. The eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

16. नौवीं मतन्याह के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई समेत बारह थे।

16. The ninth to Mattaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

17. दसवीं शिमी के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

17. The tenth to Shimei, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

18. ग्यारहवीं अजरेल के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

18. The eleventh to Azarel, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

19. बारहवीं हशब्याह के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

19. The twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

20. The thirteenth to Shubael, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

21. तेरहवी शूबाएल के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

21. The fourteenth to Mattithiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

22. चौदहवीं मत्तिरयाह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

22. The fifteenth to Jeremoth, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

23. पन्द्रहवीं यरेमोत के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

23. The sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

24. सोलहवीं हनन्याह के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

24. The seventeenth of Joshbekashah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

25. सत्राहवीं योशबकाशा के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

25. The eighteenth to Hanani, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

26. अठारहवीं हरानी के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

26. The nineteenth to Mallothi, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

27. उन्नीसवीं मल्लोती के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

27. The twentieth to Eliathah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

28. बीसवीं इलिरयाता के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

28. The twenty-first to Hothir, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

29. इक्कीसवीं होतीर के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

29. The twenty-second to Giddalti, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

30. बाईसवीं गि लती के नाम पर तिकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

30. The twenty-third to Mahazioth, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

31. तेईसवीं महजीओत के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।
