1. फिर दाऊद और सेनापतियों ने आसाप, हेमान और यदूतून के कितने पुत्रों को सेवकाई के लिये अलग किया कि वे वीणा, सारंगी और झांझ बजा बजाकर नबूवत करें। और इस सेवकाई के काम करनेवाले मनुष्यों की गिनती यह थी :

1. David and the army officers selected some of the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun to prophesy as they played stringed instruments and cymbals. The following men were assigned this responsibility:

2. अर्थात् आसाप के पुत्रों में से तो जक्कूर, योसेप, नतन्याह और अशरेला, आसाप के ये पुत्रा आसाप ही की आज्ञा में थे, जो राजा की आज्ञा के अनुसार नबूवत करता था।

2. From the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asarelah. The sons of Asaph were supervised by Asaph, who prophesied under the king's supervision.

3. फिर यदूतून के पुत्रों में से गदल्याह, सरीयशायाह, हसब्याह, मत्तित्याह, ये ही छे अपने पिता यदूतून की आज्ञा में होकर जो यहोवा का धन्यवाद और स्तुति कर करके नबूवत करता था, वीणा बजाते थे।

3. From the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah six in all, under supervision of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied as he played a harp, giving thanks and praise to the LORD.

4. और हेमान के पुत्रों में से, मुक्किरयाह, मत्तन्याह, लज्जीएल, शबूएल, यरीमोत, हनन्याह, हनानी, एलीआता, गि लती, रोममतीएजेर, योशबकाशा, मल्लोती, होतीर और महजीओत।

4. From the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

5. परमेश्वर की प्रतिज्ञानुकूल जो उसका नाम बढ़ाने की थी, ये सब हेमान के पुत्रा थे जो राजा का दश था; क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने हेमान को चौदह बेटे और तीन बेटियां दीं थीं।

5. All these were the sons of Heman, the king's prophet. God had promised him these sons in order to make him prestigious. God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6. ये सब यहोवा के भवन में गाने के लिये अपने अपने पिता के अधीन रहकर, परमेश्वर के भवन, की सेवकाई में झांझ, सारंगी और वीणा बजाते थे। और आसाप, यदूतून और हेमान राजा के अधीन रहते थे।

6. All of these were under the supervision of their fathers; they were musicians in the LORD's temple, playing cymbals and stringed instruments as they served in God's temple. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the supervision of the king.

7. इन सभों की गिनती भाइयों समेत जो यहोवा के गीत सीखे हुए और सब प्रकार से निपुण थे, दो सौ अठासी थी।

7. They and their relatives, all of them skilled and trained to make music to the LORD, numbered two hundred eighty-eight.

8. और उन्हों ने क्या बड़ा, क्या छोटा, क्या गुरू, क्या चेला, अपनी अपनी बारी के लिये चिट्ठी डाली।

8. They cast lots to determine their responsibilities oldest as well as youngest, teacher as well as student.

9. और पहिली चिट्ठी आसाप के बेटों में से योसेप के नाम पर निकली, दूसरी गदल्याह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

9. The first lot went to Asaph's son Joseph and his relatives and sons twelve in all, the second to Gedaliah and his relatives and sons twelve in all,

10. तीसरी जक्कूर के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

10. the third to Zaccur and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

11. चौथी यिस्री के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

11. the fourth to Izri and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

12. पांचवीं नतन्याह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

12. the fifth to Nethaniah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

13. छठीं बुक्किरयाह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

13. the sixth to Bukkiah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

14. सातवीं यसरेला के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

14. the seventh to Jesharelah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

15. आठवीं यशायाह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

15. the eighth to Jeshaiah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

16. नौवीं मतन्याह के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई समेत बारह थे।

16. the ninth to Mattaniah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

17. दसवीं शिमी के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

17. the tenth to Shimei and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

18. ग्यारहवीं अजरेल के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

18. the eleventh to Azarel and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

19. बारहवीं हशब्याह के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

19. the twelfth to Hashabiah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

20. the thirteenth to Shubael and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

21. तेरहवी शूबाएल के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

21. the fourteenth to Mattithiah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

22. चौदहवीं मत्तिरयाह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

22. the fifteenth to Jerimoth and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

23. पन्द्रहवीं यरेमोत के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

23. the sixteenth to Hananiah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

24. सोलहवीं हनन्याह के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

24. the seventeenth to Joshbekashah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

25. सत्राहवीं योशबकाशा के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

25. the eighteenth to Hanani and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

26. अठारहवीं हरानी के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

26. the nineteenth to Mallothi and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

27. उन्नीसवीं मल्लोती के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

27. the twentieth to Eliathah and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

28. बीसवीं इलिरयाता के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

28. the twenty-first to Hothir and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

29. इक्कीसवीं होतीर के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

29. the twenty-second to Giddalti and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

30. बाईसवीं गि लती के नाम पर तिकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

30. the twenty-third to Mahazioth and his sons and relatives twelve in all,

31. तेईसवीं महजीओत के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

31. the twenty-fourth to Romamti-Ezer and his sons and relatives twelve in all.
