1. उन बातों के विषय में जो तुम ने लिखीं, यह अच्छा है, कि पुरूष स्त्री को न छुए।

1. But of thilke thingis that ye han write to me, it is good to a man to touche not a womman.

2. परन्तु व्यभिचार के डर से हर एक पुरूष की पत्नी, और हर एक सत्री का पति हो।

2. But for fornycacioun eche man haue his owne wijf, and ech womman haue hir owne hosebonde.

3. पति अपनी पत्नी का हक्क पूरा करे; और वैसे ही पत्नी भी अपने पति का।

3. The hosebonde yelde dette to the wijf, and also the wijf to the hosebonde.

4. पत्नी को अपनी देह पर अधिकार नहीं पर उसके पति का अधिकार है; वैसे ही पति को भी अपनी देह पर अधिकार नहीं, परन्तु पत्नी को।

4. The womman hath not power of hir bodi, but the hosebonde; and the hosebonde hath not power of his bodi, but the womman.

5. तुम एक दूसरे से अलग न रहो; परन्तु केवल कुछ समय तक आपस की सम्मति से कि प्रार्थना के लिये अवकाश मिले, और फिर एक साथ रहो, ऐसा न हो, कि तुम्हारे असंयम के कारण शैतान तुम्हें परखे।

5. Nyle ye defraude eche to othere, but perauenture of consent to a tyme, that ye yyue tent to preier; and eft turne ye ayen to the same thing, lest Sathanas tempte you for youre vncontynence.

6. परन्तु मैं जो यह कहता हूं वह अनुमति है न कि आज्ञा।

6. But Y seie this thing as yyuyng leeue, not bi comaundement.

7. मैं यह चाहता हूं, कि जैसा मैं हूं, वैसा ही सब मनुष्य हों; परन्तु हर एक को परमेश्वर की ओर से विशेष विशेष बरदान मिले हैं; किसी को किसी प्रकार का, और किसी को किसी और प्रकार का।।

7. For Y wole, that alle men be as my silf. But eche man hath his propre yifte of God; oon thus, and another thus.

8. परन्तु मैं अविवाहितों और विधवाओं के विषय में कहता हूं, कि उन के लिये ऐसा ही रहना अच्छा है, जैसा मैं हूं।

8. But Y seie to hem, that ben not weddid, and to widewis, it is good to hem, if thei dwellen so as Y.

9. परन्तु यदि वे संयम न कर सकें, तो विवाह करें; क्योंकि विवाह करना कामतुर रहने से भला है।

9. That if thei conteynen not hem silf, be thei weddid; for it is betere to be weddid, than to be brent.

10. जिन का ब्याह हो गया है, उन को मैं नहीं, बरन प्रभु आज्ञा देता है, कि पत्नी अपने पति से अलग न हो।

10. But to hem that ben ioyned in matrymonye, Y comaunde, not Y, but the Lord, that the wijf departe not fro the hosebonde;

11. (और यदि अलग भी हो जाए, तो बिन दूसरा ब्याह किए रहे; या अपने पति से फिर मेल कर ले) और न पति अपनी पत्नी को छोड़े।

11. and that if sche departith, that sche dwelle vnweddid, or be recounselid to hir hosebonde; and the hosebonde forsake not the wijf.

12. दूसरें से प्रभु नहीं, परन्तु मैं ही कहता हूं, यदि किसी भाई की पत्नी विश्वास न रखती हो, और उसके साथ रहते से प्रसन्न हो, तो वह उसे न छोड़े।

12. But to othere Y seie, not the Lord. If ony brother hath an vnfeithful wijf, and sche consenteth to dwelle with hym, leeue he hir not.

13. और जिस स्त्री का पति विश्वास न रखता हो, और उसके साथ रहने से प्रसन्न हो; वह पति को न छोड़े।

13. And if ony womman hath an vnfeithful hosebonde, and this consentith to dwelle with hir, leeue sche not the hosebonde.

14. क्योंकि ऐसा पति जो विश्वास न रखता हो, वह पत्नी के कारण पवित्रा ठहरता है, और ऐसी पत्नी जो विश्वास नहीं रखती, पति के कारण पवित्रा ठहरती है; नहीं तो तुम्हारे लड़केबालें अशुद्ध होते, परन्तु अब तो पवित्रा हैं।

14. For the vnfeithful hosebonde is halewid bi the feithful womman, and the vnfeithful womman is halewid bi the feithful hosebonde. Ellis youre children weren vncleene, but now thei ben hooli.

15. परन्तु जो पुरूष विश्वास नहीं रखता, यदि वह अलग हो, तो अलग होने दो, ऐसी दशा में कोई भाई या बहिन बन्धन में नहीं; परन्तु परमेश्वर ने तो हमें मेल मिलाप के लिये बुलाया है।

15. That if the vnfeithful departith, departe he. For whi the brother or sistir is not suget to seruage in siche; for God hath clepid vs in pees.

16. क्योंकि हे स्त्री, तू क्या जानती है, कि तुम अपने पति का उद्धार करा ले? और हे पुरूष, तू क्या जानता है कि तू अपनी पत्नी का उद्धार करा ले?

16. And wherof wost thou, womman, if thou schalt make the man saaf; or wherof wost thou, man, if thou schalt make the womman saaf?

17. पर जैसा प्रभु ने हर एक को बांटा है, और परमेश्वर ने हर एक को बुलाया है; वैसा ही वह चले: और मैं सब कलीसियाओं में ऐसा ही ठहराताह हूं।

17. But as the Lord hath departid to ech, and as God hath clepid ech man, so go he, as Y teche in alle chirchis.

18. जो खतना किया हुअ बुलाया गया हो, वह खतनारहित न बने: जो खतनारहित बुलाया गया हो, वह खतना न कराए।

18. A man circumcidid is clepid, brynge he not to the prepucie. A man is clepid in prepucie, be he not circumcidid.

19. न खतना कुछ है, और न खतनारहित परन्तु परमेश्वर की आज्ञाओं को मानना ही सब कुछ है।

19. Circumcisioun is nouyt, and prepucie is nouyt, but the kepyng of the maundementis of God.

20. हर एक जन जिस दशा में बुलाया गया हो, उसी में रहे।

20. Ech man in what clepyng he is clepid, in that dwelle he.

21. यदि तू दास की दशा में बुलाया गया हो तो चिन्ता न कर; परन्तु यदि तू स्वतंत्रा हो सके, तो ऐसा ही काम कर।

21. Thou seruaunt art clepid, be it no charge to thee; but if thou maist be fre, `the rather vse thou.

22. क्योंकि जो दास की दशा में प्रभु में बुलाया गया है, वह प्रभु का स्वतंत्रा किया हुआ है: और वैसे ही जो स्वतंत्राता की दशा में बुलाया गया है, वह मसीह का दास है।

22. He that is a seruaunt, and is clepid in the Lord, is a freman of the Lord. Also he that is a freman, and is clepid, is the seruaunt of Crist.

23. तुम दाम देकर मोल लिये गए हो, मनुष्यों के दास न बनो।

23. With prijs ye ben bouyt; nyle ye be maad seruauntis of men.

24. हे भाइयो, जो कोई जिस दशा में बुलाया गया हो, वह उसी में परमेश्वर के साथ रहे।।

24. Therfor ech man in what thing he is clepid a brothir, dwelle he in this anentis God.

25. कुंवारियों के विषय में प्रभु की कोई आज्ञा मुझे नहीं मिली, परन्तु विश्वासयोग्य होने के लिये जैसी दया प्रभु ने मुझ पर की है, उसी के अनुसार सम्मति देता हूं।

25. But of virgyns Y haue no comaundement of God; but Y yyue counseil, as he that hath mercy of the Lord, that Y be trewe.

26. सो मेरी समझ में यह अच्छा है, कि आजकल क्लेश के कारण मनुष्य जैसा है, वैसा ही रहे।

26. Therfor Y gesse, that this thing is good for the present nede; for it is good to a man to be so.

27. यदि तेरे पत्नी है, तो उस से अलग होने का यत्न न कर: और यदि तेरे पत्नी नहीं, तो पत्नी की खोज न कर:

27. Thou art boundun to a wijf, nyle thou seke vnbyndyng; thou art vnboundun fro a wijf, nyle thou seke a wijf.

28. परन्तु यदि तू ब्याह भी करे, तो पाप नहीं; और यदि कुंवारी ब्याही जाए तो कोई पाप नहीं; परन्तु ऐसों को शारीरिक दुख होगा, और मैं बचाना चाहता हूं।

28. But if thou hast takun a wijf, thou hast not synned; and if a maidun is weddid, sche synnede not; nethelesse siche schulen haue tribulacioun of fleisch.

29. हे भाइयो, मैं यह कहता हूं, कि समय कम किया गया है, इसलिये चाहिए कि जिन के पत्नी हों, वे ऐसे हों मानो उन के पत्नी नहीं।

29. But Y spare you. Therfor, britheren, Y seie this thing, The tyme is schort. Another is this, that thei that han wyues, be as thouy thei hadden noon;

30. और रोनेवाले ऐसे हों, मानो रोते नहीं; और आनन्द करनेवाले ऐसे हों, मानो आनन्द नहीं करते; और मोल लेनेवाले एसे हों, कि मानो उन के पास कुछ है नहीं।

30. and thei that wepen, as thei wepten not; and thei that ioien, as thei ioieden not; and thei that bien, as thei hadden not;

31. और इस संसार के बरतनेवाले ऐसे हों, कि संसार ही के न हो लें; क्योंकि इस संसार की रीति और व्यवहार बदलते जाते हैं।

31. and thei that vsen this world, as thei that vsen not. For whi the figure of this world passith.

32. सो मैं यह चाहता हूं, कि तुम्हें चिन्ता न हो: अविवाहित पुरूष प्रभु की बातों की चिन्ता में रहता है, कि प्रभु को क्योंकर प्रसन्न रखे।

32. But Y wole, that ye be without bisynesse, for he that is without wijf, is bisi what thingis ben of the Lord, hou he schal plese God.

33. परन्तु विवाहित मनुष्य संसार की बातों की चिन्ता में रहता है, कि अपनी पत्नी को किस रीति से प्रसन्न रखे।

33. But he that is with a wijf, is bysy what thingis ben of the world, hou he schal plese the wijf, and he is departid.

34. विवाहिता और अविवाहिता में भी भेद है: अविवाहिता प्रभु की चिन्ता में रहती है, कि वह देह और आत्मा दोनों में पवित्रा हो, परन्तु विवाहिता संसार की चिन्ता में रहती है, कि अपने पति को प्रसन्न रखे।

34. And a womman vnweddid and maidun thenkith what thingis ben of the Lord, that sche be hooli in bodi and spirit. But sche that is weddid, thenkith what thingis ben of the world, hou sche schal plese the hosebonde.

35. यह बात तुम्हारे ही लाभ के लिये कहता हूं, न कि तुम्हें फंसाने के लिये, बरन इसलिये कि जैसा सोहता है, वैसा ही किया जाए; कि तुम एक चित्त होकर प्रभु की सेवा में लगे रहो।

35. And Y seie these thingis to youre profit, not that Y caste to you a snare, but to that that is onest, and that yyueth esynesse, with outen lettyng to make preieris to the Lord.

36. और यदि कोई यह समझे, कि मैं अपनी उस कुंवारी का हक्क मान रहा हूं, जिस की जवानी ढल चली है, और प्रयोजन भी होए, तो जैसा चाहे, वैसा करे, इस में पाप नहीं, वह उसका ब्याह होने दे।

36. And if ony man gessith hym silf to be seyn foule on his virgyn, that sche is ful woxun, and so it bihoueth to be doon, do sche that that sche wole; sche synneth not, if sche be weddid.

37. परन्तु जो मन में दृढ़ रहता है, और उस को प्रयोजन न हो, बरन अपनी इच्छा पूरी करने में अधिकार रखता हो, और अपने मन में यह बात ठान ली हो, कि मैं अपनी कुंवारी लड़की को बिन ब्याही रखूंगा, वह अच्छा करता है।

37. For he that ordeynede stabli in his herte, not hauynge nede, but hauynge power of his wille, and hath demed in his herte this thing, to kepe his virgyn, doith wel.

38. सो जो अपनी कुंवारी का ब्याह कर देता है, वह अच्छा करता है और जो ब्याह नहीं कर देता, वह और भी अच्छा करता है।

38. Therfore he that ioyneth his virgyn in matrymonye, doith wel; and he that ioyneth not, doith betere.

39. जब तक किसी स्त्री का पति जीवित रहता है, तब तक वह उस से बन्धी हुई है, परन्तु जब उसका पति मर जाए, तो जिस से चाहे विवाह कर सकती है, परन्तु केवल प्रभु में।

39. The womman is boundun to the lawe, as longe tyme as hir hosebonde lyueth; and if hir hosebonde is deed, sche is delyuered fro the lawe of the hosebonde, be sche weddid to whom sche wole, oneli in the Lord.

40. परनतु जेसी है यदि वैसी ही रहे, तो मेरे विचार में और भी धन्य है, और मैं समझता हूं, कि परमेश्वर का आत्मा मुझ में भी है।।

40. But sche schal be more blessid, if sche dwellith thus, aftir my counsel; and Y wene, that Y haue the Spirit of God.
