1. तब योना ने उसके पेट में से अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से प्रार्थना करके कहा,

1. And Ionas prayed vnto the Lorde his God out of the fisshes belly.

2. मैं ने संकट में पड़े हुए यहोवा की दोहाई दी, और उस ने मेरी सुन ली है; अधोलोक के उदर में से मैं चिल्ला उठा, और तू ने मेरी सुन ली।

2. And saide: In affliction I cryed vnto the Lorde, and he heard me: out of the belly of hell cryed I, and thou heardest my voyce.

3. तू ने मुझे गहिरे सागर में समुद्र की थाह तक डाल दिया; और मैं धाराओं के बीच में पड़ा था, तेरी भड़काई हुई सब तरंग और लहरें मेरे ऊपर से बह गईं।

3. Thou haddest cast me downe into the deepe, into the middest of the sea, and the floods compassed me about: all thy billowes and waues passed ouer me.

4. तब मैं ने कहा, मैं तेरे साम्हने से निकाल दिया गया हूं; तौभी तेरे पवित्रा मन्दिर की ओर फिर ताकूंगा।

4. And I saide: I am cast away out of thy sight, yet wyll I loke againe toward thyne holy temple.

5. मैं जल से यहां तक घिरा हुआ था कि मेरे प्राण निकले जाते थे; गहिरा सागर मेरे चारों ओर था, और मेरे सिर में सिवार लिपटा हुआ था।

5. The waters compassed me euen vnto the soule, the deapth closed me on euery side, and the weedes were wrapt about my head.

6. मैं पहाड़ों की जड़ तक पहुंच गया था; मैं सदा के लिये भूमि में बन्द हो गया था; तौभी हे मेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा, तू ने मेरे प्राणों को गड़हे में से उठाया है।

6. I went downe to the bottome of the mountaines, the earth with her barres was about me for euer: yet hast thou brought vp my lyfe from corruption, O Lorde my God.

7. जब मैं मूर्छा खाने लगा, तब मैं ने यहोवा को स्मरण किया; और मेरी प्रार्थना तेरे पास वरन तेरे पवित्रा मन्दिर में पहुंच गई।

7. When my soule fainted within me, I remembred the Lorde, and my prayer came in vnto thee into thy holy temple.

8. जो लोग धोखे की व्यर्थ वस्तुओं पर मन लगाते हैं, वे अपने करूणानिधान को छोड़ देते हैं।

8. They that holde vpon lying vanitie, forsake his mercie.

9. परन्तु मैं ऊंचे शब्द से धन्यवाद करके तुझे बलिदान चढ़ाऊंगा; जो मन्नत मैं ने मानी, उसको पूरी करूंगा। उद्धार यहोवा ही से होता है।

9. But I wyll sacrifice vnto thee with the voyce of thankesgeuing, and wyll pay that that I haue vowed: for saluation is of the Lorde.

10. और यहोवा ने मगरमच्छ को आज्ञा दी, और उस ने योना को स्थल पर उगल दिया।।

10. And the Lorde spake vnto the fisshe, and it cast out Ionas vpon the drye lande.
