1. तब योना ने उसके पेट में से अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से प्रार्थना करके कहा,

1. And Ionas prayed vnto the LORDE his God, out of the fysshes bely,

2. मैं ने संकट में पड़े हुए यहोवा की दोहाई दी, और उस ने मेरी सुन ली है; अधोलोक के उदर में से मैं चिल्ला उठा, और तू ने मेरी सुन ली।

2. and sayed: In my trouble I called vnto ye LORDE, and he herde me: out off the bely off hell I cried, and thou herdest my voyce.

3. तू ने मुझे गहिरे सागर में समुद्र की थाह तक डाल दिया; और मैं धाराओं के बीच में पड़ा था, तेरी भड़काई हुई सब तरंग और लहरें मेरे ऊपर से बह गईं।

3. Thou haddest cast me downe depe in ye middest off the see, and the floude compased me aboute: yee all thy wawes and rowles of water went ouer me,

4. तब मैं ने कहा, मैं तेरे साम्हने से निकाल दिया गया हूं; तौभी तेरे पवित्रा मन्दिर की ओर फिर ताकूंगा।

4. I thought that I had bene cast awaye out of thy sight: but I wil yet agayne loke towarde thy holy temple.

5. मैं जल से यहां तक घिरा हुआ था कि मेरे प्राण निकले जाते थे; गहिरा सागर मेरे चारों ओर था, और मेरे सिर में सिवार लिपटा हुआ था।

5. The waters compased me, euen to the very soule: the depe laye aboute me, and the wedes were wrapte aboute myne heade.

6. मैं पहाड़ों की जड़ तक पहुंच गया था; मैं सदा के लिये भूमि में बन्द हो गया था; तौभी हे मेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा, तू ने मेरे प्राणों को गड़हे में से उठाया है।

6. I wente downe to the botome of the hilles, & was barred in with earth for euer. But thou (o LORDE my God) hast brought vp my lyfe agayne out of corrupcion.

7. जब मैं मूर्छा खाने लगा, तब मैं ने यहोवा को स्मरण किया; और मेरी प्रार्थना तेरे पास वरन तेरे पवित्रा मन्दिर में पहुंच गई।

7. When my soule faynted within me, I thought vpon the LORDE: and my prayer came in vnto the, euen in to thy holy temple.

8. जो लोग धोखे की व्यर्थ वस्तुओं पर मन लगाते हैं, वे अपने करूणानिधान को छोड़ देते हैं।

8. They that holde of vayne vanyties, wil forsake his mercy.

9. परन्तु मैं ऊंचे शब्द से धन्यवाद करके तुझे बलिदान चढ़ाऊंगा; जो मन्नत मैं ने मानी, उसको पूरी करूंगा। उद्धार यहोवा ही से होता है।

9. But I wil do the sacrifice with the voyce of thankesgeuynge, and wil paye that I haue vowed: for why? saluacion commeth of the LORDE.

10. और यहोवा ने मगरमच्छ को आज्ञा दी, और उस ने योना को स्थल पर उगल दिया।।

10. And ye LORDE spake vnto ye fysh, and it cast out Ionas agayne vpon the drye londe.
