1. तब परमेश्वर ने ये सब वचन कहे,
प्रेरितों के काम 7:38

1. Then God spake all these wordes, saying,

2. कि मै तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा हूं, जो तुझे दासत्व के घर अर्थात् मि देश से निकाल लाया है।।

2. I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3. तू मुझे छोड़ दूसरों को ईश्वर करके न मानना।।

3. Thou shalt haue none other Gods before me.

4. तू अपने लिये कोई मूर्ति खोदकर न बनाना, न किसी कि प्रतिमा बनाना, जो आकाश में, वा पृथ्वी पर, वा पृथ्वी के जल में है।

4. Thou shalt make thee no grauen image, neither any similitude of things that are in heauen aboue, neither that are in the earth beneath, nor that are in the waters vnder the earth.

5. तू उनको दण्डवत् न करना, और न उनकी उपासना करना; क्योंकि मै तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा जलन रखने वाला ईश्वर हूं, और जो मुझ से बैर रखते है, उनके बेटों, पोतों, और परपोतों को भी पितरों का दण्ड दिया करता हूं,

5. Thou shalt not bowe downe to them, neither serue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generation and vpon the fourth of them that hate me:

6. और जो मुझ से प्रेम रखते और मेरी आज्ञाओं को मानते हैं, उन हजारों पर करूणा किया करता हूं।।

6. And shewing mercie vnto thousandes to them that loue me, and keepe my commandemets.

7. तू अपने परमेश्वर का नाम व्यर्थ न लेना; क्योंकि जो यहोवा का नाम व्यर्थ ले वह उसको निर्दोष न ठहराएगा।।
मत्ती 5:33

7. Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not hold him guiltles that taketh his Name in vayne.

8. तू विश्रामदिन को पवित्रा मानने के लिये स्मरण रखना।

8. Remember the Sabbath day, to keepe it holy.

9. छ: दिन तो तू परिश्रम करके अपना सब काम काज करना;
लूका 13:14

9. Sixe dayes shalt thou labour, and doe all thy worke,

10. परन्तु सातवां दिन तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा के लिये विश्रामदिन है। उस में न तो तू किसी भांति का काम काज करना, और न तेरा बेटा, न तेरी बेटी, न तेरा दास, न तेरी दासी, न तेरे पशु, न कोई परदेशी जो तेरे फाटकों के भीतर हो।

10. But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any worke, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, thy man seruant, nor thy mayde, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.

11. क्योंकि छ: दिन में यहोवा ने आकाश, और पृथ्वी, और समुद्र, और जो कुछ उन में है, सब को बनाया, और सातवें दिन विश्राम किया; इस कारण यहोवा ने विश्रामदिन को आशीष दी और उसको पवित्रा ठहराया।।

11. For in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seuenth day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12. तू अपने पिता और अपनी माता का आदर करना, जिस से जो देश तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझे देता है उस में तू बहुत दिन तक रहने पाए।।

12. Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.

13. तू खून न करना।।

13. Thou shalt not kill.

14. तू व्यभिचार न करना।।

14. Thou shalt not commit adulterie.

15. तू चोरी न करना।।

15. Thou shalt not steale.

16. तू किसी के विरूद्ध झूठी साक्षी न देना।।

16. Thou shalt not beare false witnes against thy neighbour.

17. तू किसी के घर का लालच न करना; न तो किसी की स्त्री का लालच करना, और न किसी के दास- दासी, वा बैल गदहे का, न किसी की किसी वस्तु का लालच करना।।

17. Thou shalt not couet thy neighbours house, neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, nor his man seruant, nor his mayde, nor his oxe, nor his asse, neyther any thing that is thy neighbours.

18. और सब लोग गरजने और बिजली और नरसिंगे के शब्द सुनते, और धुआं उठते हुए पर्वत को देखते रहे, और देखके, कांपकर दूर खड़े हो गए;

18. And all the people sawe the thunders, and the lightnings, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountaine smoking and when the people saw it they fled and stoode afare off,

19. और वे मूसा से कहने लगे, तू ही हम से बातें कर, तब तो हम सुन सकेंगे; परन्तु परमेश्वर हम से बातें न करे, ऐसा न हो कि हम मर जाएं।

19. And sayde vnto Moses, Talke thou with vs, and we will heare: but let not God talke with vs, lest we die.

20. मूसा ने लोगों से कहा, डरो मत; क्योंकि परमेश्वर इस निमित्त आया है कि तुम्हारी परीक्षा करे, और उसका भय तुम्हारे मन में बना रहे, कि तुम पाप न करो।

20. Then Moses sayde vnto the people, Feare not: for God is come to proue you, and that his feare may be before you, that ye sinne not.

21. और वे लोग तो दूर ही खड़े रहे, परन्तु मूसा उस घोर अन्धकार के समीप गया जहां परमेश्वर था।।

21. So the people stoode afarre off, but Moses drew neere vnto the darkenes where God was.

22. तब यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा, तू इस्त्राएलियों को मेरे ये वचन सुना, कि तुम लोगों ने तो आप ही देखा है कि मै ने तुम्हारे साथ आकाश से बातें की हैं।

22. And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Thus thou shalt say vnto the children of Israel, Ye haue seene that I haue talked with you from heauen.

23. तुम मेरे साथ किसी को सम्मिलित न करना, अर्थात् अपने लिये चान्दी वा सोने से देवताओं को न गढ़ लेना।

23. Ye shall not make therefore with me gods of siluer, nor gods of golde: you shall make you none.

24. मेरे लिये मिट्टी की एक वेदी बनाना, और अपनी भेड़- बकरियों और गाय- बैलों के होमबलि और मेलबलि को उस पर चढ़ाना; जहां जहां मैं अपने नाम का स्मरण कराऊं वहां वहां मैं आकर तुम्हें आशीष दूंगा।

24. An altar of earth thou shalt make vnto me, and thereon shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheepe, and thine oxen: in all places, where I shall put the remembrance of my Name, I will come vnto thee, and blesse thee.

25. और यदि तुम मेरे लिये पत्थरों की वेदी बनाओ, तो तराशे हुए पत्थरों से न बनाना; क्योंकि जहां तुम ने उस पर अपना हथियार लगाया वहां तू उसे अशुद्ध कर देगा।

25. But if thou wilt make mee an altar of stone, thou shalt not buylde it of hewen stones: for if thou lift vp thy toole vpon them, thou hast polluted them.

26. और मेरी वेदी पर सीढ़ी से कभी न चढ़ना, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि तेरा तन उस पर नंगा देख पड़े।।

26. Neither shalt thou goe vp by steppes vnto mine altar, that thy filthines be not discouered thereon.
