1. जब इस्राएल ने मि से, अर्थात् याकूब के घराने ने अन्य भाषावालों के बीच में कूच किया,

1. I have loved, because the Lord will hear the voice of my prayer.

2. तब यहूदा यहोवा का पवित्रास्थान और इस्राएल उसके राज्य के लोग हो गए।।

2. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me: and in my days I will call upon him.

3. समुद्र देखकर भागा, यर्दन नदी उलटी बही।

3. The sorrows of death have encompassed me: and the perils of hell have found me. I met with trouble and sorrow:

4. पहाड़ मेढ़ों की नाईं उछलने लगे, और पहाड़ियां भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों की नाईं उछलने लगीं।।

4. And I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, deliver my soul.

5. हे समुद्र, तुझे क्या हुआ, कि तू भागा? और हे यर्दन तुझे क्या हुआ, कि तू उलठी बही?

5. The Lord is merciful and just, and our God sheweth mercy.

6. हे पहाड़ों तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़ों की नाईं, और हे पहाड़ियों तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों की नाईं उछलीं?

6. The Lord is the keeper of little ones: I was little and he delivered me.

7. हे पृथ्वी प्रभु के साम्हने, हां याकूब के परमेश्वर के साम्हने थरथरा।

7. Turn, O my soul, into thy rest: for the Lord hath been bountiful to thee.

8. वह चट्टान को जल का ताल, चकमक के पत्थर को जल का सोता बना डालता है।।

8. For he hath delivered my soul from death: my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.
