1. जब इस्राएल ने मि से, अर्थात् याकूब के घराने ने अन्य भाषावालों के बीच में कूच किया,

1. When Israel came forth out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from among a people of strange tongue,

2. तब यहूदा यहोवा का पवित्रास्थान और इस्राएल उसके राज्य के लोग हो गए।।

2. Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his realm:

3. समुद्र देखकर भागा, यर्दन नदी उलटी बही।

4. पहाड़ मेढ़ों की नाईं उछलने लगे, और पहाड़ियां भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों की नाईं उछलने लगीं।।

4. The mountains, started like rams, The hills like the young of the flock?

5. हे समुद्र, तुझे क्या हुआ, कि तू भागा? और हे यर्दन तुझे क्या हुआ, कि तू उलठी बही?

5. What aileth thee, O sea, that thou fleest? O Jordan, that thou turnest back?

6. हे पहाड़ों तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़ों की नाईं, और हे पहाड़ियों तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों की नाईं उछलीं?

6. Ye mountains, that ye start like rams? Ye hills, like the young of the flock?

7. हे पृथ्वी प्रभु के साम्हने, हां याकूब के परमेश्वर के साम्हने थरथरा।
