1. जब इस्राएल ने मि से, अर्थात् याकूब के घराने ने अन्य भाषावालों के बीच में कूच किया,

1. The people of Israel escaped from Egypt. Yes, Jacob's descendants left that foreign country.

2. तब यहूदा यहोवा का पवित्रास्थान और इस्राएल उसके राज्य के लोग हो गए।।

2. Then Judah became God's special people, and Israel became his kingdom.

3. समुद्र देखकर भागा, यर्दन नदी उलटी बही।

3. The Red Sea saw this and ran away. The Jordan River turned and ran.

4. पहाड़ मेढ़ों की नाईं उछलने लगे, और पहाड़ियां भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों की नाईं उछलने लगीं।।

4. The mountains danced like rams. The hills danced like lambs.

5. हे समुद्र, तुझे क्या हुआ, कि तू भागा? और हे यर्दन तुझे क्या हुआ, कि तू उलठी बही?

5. Red Sea, why did you run away? Jordan River, why did you turn and run away?

6. हे पहाड़ों तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़ों की नाईं, और हे पहाड़ियों तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों की नाईं उछलीं?

6. Mountains, why did you dance like rams? Hills, why did you dance like lambs?

7. हे पृथ्वी प्रभु के साम्हने, हां याकूब के परमेश्वर के साम्हने थरथरा।

8. वह चट्टान को जल का ताल, चकमक के पत्थर को जल का सोता बना डालता है।।
