1. मेरा प्राण जीवित रहने से उकताता है; मैं स्वतंत्राता पूर्वक कुड़कुड़ाऊंगा; और मैं अपने मन की कड़वाहट के मारे बातें करूंगा।

1. it greueth my soule to lyue. Neuerthelesse, now will I put forth my wordes: I wil speake out of the very heuynesse off my soule,

2. मै ईश्वर से कहूंगा, मुझे दोषी न ठहरा; मुझे बता दे, कि तू किस कारण मूझ से मुक़ मा लड़ता है?

2. and will saye vnto God: O do not condemne me, but shewe me the cause, wherfore thou iudgest me on this maner.

3. क्या तुझे अन्धेर करना, और दुष्टों की युक्ति को सुफल करके अपने हाथों के बनाए हुए को निकम्मा जानना भला लगता है?

3. Thinkest thou it well done, to oppresse me, to cast me of (beinge a worke of thy hondes) and to manteyne the councell of the vngodly?

4. क्या तेरी देश्धारियों की सी बांखें है? और क्या तेरा देखना मनुष्य का सा है?

4. Hast thou fle?shy eyes then, or doest thou loke as man loketh?

5. क्या तेरे दिन मनुष्य के दिन के समान हैं, वा तेरे वर्ष पुरूष के समयों के तुल्य हैं,

5. Are thy dayes as the dayes of man, and thy yeares as mans yeares?

6. कि तू मेरा अधर्म ढूंढ़ता, और मेरा पाप पूछता है?

6. that thou makest soch inquisicion for my wickednesse, and searchest out my synne?

7. तुझे तो मालूम ही है, कि मैं दुष्ट नहीं हूँ, और तेरे हाथ से कोई छुड़ानेवाला नहीं !

7. where as (notwithstondinge) thou knowest that I am no wicked person, & that there is no man able to delyuer me out of thine honde.

8. तू ने अपने हाथों से मुझे ठीक रचा है और जोड़कर बनाया है; तौभी मुझे नाश किए डालता है।

8. Thy hondes haue made me, & fashioned me alltogether rounde aboute, wilt thou then destroye me sodely?

9. स्मरण कर, कि तू ने मुझ को गून्धी हुई मिट्टी की नाई बनाया, क्या तू मुझे फिर धूल में मिलाएगा?

9. O remembre (I beseke the) how that thou madest me of the moulde of the earth, and shalt brynge me to earth agayne.

10. क्या तू ने मुझे दूध की नाई उंडेलकर, और दही के समान जमाकर नहीं बनाया?

10. Hast thou not milked me, as it were mylck: and turned me to cruddes like chese?

11. फिर तू ने मुझ पर चमड़ा और मांस चढ़ाया और हडि्डयां और नसें गूंथकर मुझे बनाया है।

11. Thou hast couered me with skynne and flesh, and ioyned me together with bones & synowes.

12. तू ने मुझे जीवन दिया, और मुझ पर करूणा की है; और तेरी चौकसी से मेरे प्राण की रक्षा हई है।

12. Thou hast graunted me life, and done me good: and the diligent hede that thou tokest vpon me, hath preserued my sprete.

13. तौभी तू ने ऐसी बातों को अपने मन में छिपा रखा; मैं तो जान गया, कि तू ने ऐसा ही करने को ठाना था।

13. Though thou hydest these thinges in thine hert, yet am I sure, that thou remembrest the all.

14. जो मैं पाप करूं, तो तू उसका लेखा लेगा; और अधर्म करने पर मुझे निदष न ठहराएगा।

14. Wherfore didest thou kepe me, when I synned, and hast not clensed me fro myne offence?

15. जो मैं दुष्टता करूं तो मुझ पर हाय ! और जो मैं धम बनूं तौभी मैं सिर न उठाऊंगा, क्योंकि मैं अपमान से भरा हुआ हूं और अपने दु:ख पर ध्यान रखता हूँ।

15. Yf I do wickedly, wo is me therfore: Yf I be rightuous, yet darre I not lift vp my heade: so full am I of confucion, and se myne owne misery.

16. और चाहे सिर उठाऊं तौभी तू सिंह की नाई मेरा अहेर करता है, और फिर मेरे विरूद्ध आश्चर्यकर्म करता है।

16. Thou huntest me out (beynge in heuynesse) as it were a Lyon, and troublest me out of measure.

17. तू मेरे साम्हने अपने नये नये साक्षी ले आता है, और मुझ पर अपना क्रोध बढ़ाता है; और मुझ पर सेना पर सेना चढ़ाई करती है।

17. Thou bringest fresh witnesses agaynst me, thy wrath increasest thou vpon me, very many are the plages that I am in.

18. तू ने मुझे गर्भ से क्यों निकाला? नहीं तो मैं वहीं प्राण छोड़ता, और कोई मुझे देखने भी न पाता।

18. Wherfore hast thou brought me out of my mothers wombe? O that I had perished, & that no eye had sene me.

19. मेरा होना न होने के समान होता, और पेट ही से क़ब्र को पहुंचाया जाता।

19. Yf they had caried me to my graue, as soone as I was borne, then shulde I be now, as though I had neuer bene.

20. क्या मेरे दिन थोड़े नहीं? मुझे छोड़ दे, और मेरी ओर से मुंह फेर ले, कि मेरा मन थोड़ा शान्त हो जाए

20. Shall not my short life come soone to an ende? O holde the fro me, let me alone, that I maye ease myself a litle:

21. इस से पहिले कि मैं वहां जाऊं, जहां से फिर न लौटूंगा, अर्थात् अन्धियारे और धोर अन्धकार के देश में, जहां अन्धकार ही अन्धकार है;

21. afore I go thyther, from whence I shal not turne agayne: Namely, to that londe of darcknesse & shadowe of death:

22. और मृत्यु के अन्धकार का देश जिस में सब कुछ गड़बड़ है; और जहां प्रकाश भी ऐसा है जैसा अन्धकार।

22. yee into that darck clowdy londe & deadly shadowe, where as is no ordre, but terrible feare as in the darcknesse.
