4. यहोवा के इस वचन के अनुसार अब्राम चला; और लूत भी उसके संग चला; और जब अब्राम हारान देश से निकला उस समय वह पचहत्तर वर्ष का था।

6. उस देश के बीच से जाते हुए अब्राम शकेम में, जहां मोरे का बांज वृक्ष है, पंहुचा; उस समय उस देश में कनानी लोग रहते थे।

6. Abram went furth in to the lade tyll he came vnto a place called Sychem and vnto the oke of More. And the Canaanytes dwelled then in the lande.

7. तब यहोवा ने अब्राम को दर्शन देकर कहा, यह देश मैं तेरे वंश को दूंगा : और उस ने वहां यहोवा के लिये जिस ने उसे दर्शन दिया था, एक वेदी बनाई।

8. फिर वहां से कूच करके, वह उस पहाड़ पर आया, जो बेतेल के पूर्व की ओर है; और अपना तम्बू उस स्थान में खड़ा किया जिसकी पच्छिम की ओर तो बेतेल, और पूर्व की ओर ऐ है; और वहां भी उस ने यहोवा के लिये एक वेदी बनाई : और यहोवा से प्रार्थना की

8. Then departed he thence vnto a mountayne that lyeth on the east syde of BETHEL and pytched hys tente: BETHEL beynge on the west syde and Ay on the east: And he buylded there an aulter vnto the LORde and called on the name of ye LORde.

9. और अब्राम कूच करके दक्खिन देश की ओर चला गया।।

9. And than Abram departed and toke his iourney southwarde

10. और उस देश में अकाल पड़ा : और अब्राम मि देश को चला गया कि वहां परदेशी होकर रहे -- क्योंकि देश में भयंकर अकाल पड़ा था।

10. After thys there came a derth in the lande. And Abram went doune in to Egipte to soiourne there for the derth was sore in the lande.

11. फिर ऐसा हुआ कि मि के निकट पहुंचकर, उस ने अपनी पत्नी सारै से कहा, सुन, मुझे मालूम है, कि तू एक सुन्दर स्त्री है :

11. And when he was come nye for to entre in to Egipte he sayd vnto sarai his wife. Beholde I knowe that thou art a fayre woman to loke apo.

12. इस कारण जब मिद्दी तुझे देखेंगे, तब कहेंगे, यह उसकी पत्नी है, सो वे मुझ को तो मार डालेंगे, पर तुझ को जीती रख लेंगे।

12. It wyll come to passe therfore whe the Egiptians see the that they wyll say: she is his wyfe. And so shall they sley me and save the.

13. सो यह कहना, कि मैं उसकी बहिन हूं; जिस से तेरे कारण मेरा कल्याण हो और मेरा प्राण तेरे कारण बचे।

14. फिर ऐसा हुआ कि जब अब्राम मि में आया, तब मिस्त्रियों ने उसकी पत्नी को देखा कि यह अति सुन्दर है।

14. As soone as he came in to Egipte the Egiptias sawe the woman that she was very fayre.

15. और फिरौन के हाकिमों ने उसको देखकर फिरौन के साम्हने उसकी प्रशंसा की : सो वह स्त्री फिरौन के घर में रखी गई।

15. And Pharaos lordes sawe hir also and praysed hir vnto Pharao: So that she was taken in to Pharaos house

16. और उस ने उसके कारण अब्राम की भलाई की; सो उसको भेड़- बकरी, गाय- बैल, दास- दासियां, गदहे- गदहियां, और ऊंट मिले।

17. तब यहोवा ने फिरौन और उसके घराने पर, अब्राम की पत्नी सारै के कारण बड़ी बड़ी विपत्तियां डालीं।

17. But God plaged Pharao and his house wyth grete plages because of Sarai Abrams wyfe.

18. सो फिरौन ने अब्राम को बुलवाकर कहा, तू ने मुझ से क्या किया है ? तू ने मुझे क्यों नहीं बताया कि वह तेरी पत्नी है ?

18. Then Pharao called Abram and sayd: why hast thou thus dealt with me? Wherfore toldest thou me not that she was thy wyfe?

19. तू ने क्यों कहा, कि वह तेरी बहिन है ? मैं ने उसे अपनी ही पत्नी बनाने के लिये लिया; परन्तु अब अपनी पत्नी को लेकर यहां से चला जा।

19. Why saydest thou that she was thy sister and causedest me to take hyr to my wyfe? But now loo there is the wife take hir ad be walkynge.

20. और फिरौन ने अपने आदमियों को उसके विषय में आज्ञा दी और उन्हों ने उसको और उसकी पत्नी को, सब सम्पत्ति समेत जो उसका था, विदा कर दिया।।
