1. तब लेवियों के पूर्वजों के घरानों के मुख्य मुख्य पुरूष एलीआज़र याजक, और नून के पुत्रा यहोशू, और इस्राएली गोत्रों के पूर्वजों के घरानों के मुख्य मुख्य पुरूषों के पास आकर

1. Then came near the heads of fathers' houses of the Levites to El`azar the Kohen, and to Yehoshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Yisra'el;

2. कनान देश के शीलो नगर में कहने लगे, यहोवा ने मूसा से हमें बसने के लिये नगर, और हमारे पशुओं के लिये उन्हीं नगरों की चराईयां भी देने की आज्ञा दिलाई थी।

2. and they spoke to them at Shiloh in the land of Kana`an, saying, the LORD commanded Moshe to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs of it for our cattle.

3. तब इस्राएलियों ने यहोवा के कहने के अनुसार अपने अपने भाग में से लेवियों को चराईयों समेत ये नगर दिए।।

3. The children of Yisra'el gave to the Levites out of their inheritance, according to the mitzvah of the LORD, these cities with their suburbs.

4. और कहतियों के कुलों के नाम पर चिट्ठी निकली। इसलिये लेवियों में से हारून याजक के वंश को यहूदी, शिमोन, और बिन्यामीन के गोत्रों के भागों में से तेरह नगर मिले।।

4. The lot came out for the families of the Kehati: and the children of Aharon the Kohen, who were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Yehudah, and out of the tribe of the Shim`oni, and out of the tribe of Binyamin, thirteen cities.

5. और बाकी कहातियों को एप्रैम के गोत्रा के कुलों, और दान के गोत्रा, और मनश्शे के आधे गोत्रा के भागों में से चिट्ठी डाल डालकर दस नगर दिए गए।।

5. The rest of the children of Kehat had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Efrayim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half-tribe of Menashsheh, ten cities.

6. और गेर्शोनियों को इस्साकार के गोत्रा के कुलों, और आशेर, और नप्ताली के गोत्रों के भागों में से, और मनश्शे के उस आधे गोत्रा के भागों में से भी जो बाशान में था चिट्ठी डाल डालकर तेरह नगर दिए गए।।

6. The children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Yissakhar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naftali, and out of the half-tribe of Menashsheh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

7. और कुलों के अनुसार मरारियों को रूबेन, गाद, और जबूलून के गोत्रों के भागों में से बारह नगर दिए गए।।

7. The children of Merari according to their families had out of the tribe of Re'uven, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zevulun, twelve cities.

8. जो आज्ञा यहोवा ने मूसा से दिलाई भी उसके अनुसार इस्राएलियों ने लेवियों को चराइयों समेत ये नगर चिट्ठी डाल डालकर दिए।

8. The children of Yisra'el gave by lot to the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by Moshe.

9. उन्हों ने यहूदियों और शिमोनियों के गोत्रों के भागों में से ये नगर जिनके नाम लिखे हैं दिए;

9. They gave out of the tribe of the children of Yehudah, and out of the tribe of the children of Shim`on, these cities which are here mentioned by name:

10. ये नगर लेवीय कहाती कुलों में से हारून के वंश के लिये थे; क्योंकि पहिली चिट्ठी उन्हीं के नाम पर निकली थी।

10. and they were for the children of Aharon, of the families of the Kehati, who were of the children of Levi; for theirs was the first lot.

11. अर्थात् उन्हों ने उन को यहूदा के पहाड़ी देश में चारों ओर की चराइयों समेत किर्यतर्बा नगर दे दिया, जो अनाक के पिता अर्बा के नाम पर कहलाया और हेब्रोन भी कहलाता है।

11. They gave them Kiryat-Arba, which Arba was the father of `Anak (the same is Hevron), in the hill-country of Yehudah, with the suburbs of it round about it.

12. परन्तु उस नगर के खेत और उसके गांव उन्हों ने यपुन्ने के पुत्रा कालेब को उसकी निज भूमि करके दे दिए।।

12. But the fields of the city, and the villages of it, gave they to Kalev the son of Yefunneh for his possession.

13. तब उन्हों ने हारून याजक के वंश को चराइयों समेत खूनी के शरण नगर हेब्रोन, और अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत लिब्ना,

13. To the children of Aharon the Kohen they gave Hevron with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Livna with its suburbs,

14. यत्तीर, एशतमो,

14. and Yattir with its suburbs, and Eshtemoa with its suburbs,

15. होलोन, दबीर, ऐन,

15. and Holon with its suburbs, and Devir with its suburbs,

16. युत्ता और बेतशेमेश दिए; इस प्रकार उन दोनों गोत्रों के भागों में से नौ नगर दिए गए।

16. and `Ayin with its suburbs, and Yuttah with its suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with its suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.

17. और बिन्यामीन के गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत ये चार नगर दिए गए, अर्थात्गिबोन, गेबा,

17. Out of the tribe of Binyamin, Giv`on with its suburbs, Geva with its suburbs,

18. अनातोत और अल्मोन

18. `Anatot with its suburbs, and `Almon with its suburbs; four cities.

19. इस प्रकार हारूनवंशी याजकों को तेरह नगर और उनकी चराईयां मिली।।

19. All the cities of the children of Aharon, the Kohanim, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

20. फिर बाकी कहाती लेवियों के कुलों के भाग के नगर चिट्ठी डाल डालकर एप्रैम के गोत्रा के भाग में से दिए गए।

20. The families of the children of Kehat, the Levites, even the rest of the children of Kehat, they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Efrayim.

21. अर्थात् उनको चराइयों समेत एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश में खूनी शरण लेने का शकेम नगर दिया गया, फिर अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत गेजेर,

21. They gave them Shekhem with its suburbs in the hill-country of Efrayim, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Gezer with its suburbs,

22. किबसैम, और बेथोरोन; ये चार नगर दिए गए।

22. and Kivtza`im with its suburbs, and Beit-Horon with its suburbs; four cities.

23. और दान के गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत, एलतके, गिब्बतोन,

23. Out of the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its suburbs, Gibbeton with its suburbs,

24. अरयालोन, और गत्रिम्मोन; ये चार नगर दिए गए।

24. Ayalon with its suburbs, Gath-rimmon with its suburbs; four cities.

25. और मनश्शे के आधे गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत तानाक और गत्रिम्मोन; ये दो नगर दिए गए।

25. Out of the half-tribe of Menashsheh, Ta`nakh with its suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with its suburbs; two cities.

26. इस प्रकार बाकी कहातियों के कुलों के सब नगर चराइयों समेत दस ठहरे।।

26. All the cities of the families of the rest of the children of Kehat were ten with their suburbs.

27. फिर लेवियों के कुलों में के गेर्शोनियों को मनश्शे के आधे गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत खूनी के शरण नगर बाशान का गोलान और बेशतरा; ये दो नगर दिए गए।

27. To the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the half-tribe of Menashsheh they gave Galon in Bashan with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Be`eshterah with its suburbs; two cities.

28. और इस्साकार के गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत किश्योन, दाबरत,

28. Out of the tribe of Yissakhar, Kishyon with its suburbs, Daverat with its suburbs,

29. यर्मूत, और एनगन्नीम; ये चार नगर दिए गए।

29. Yarmut with its suburbs, `En-Gannim with its suburbs; four cities.

30. और आशेर के गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत मिशाल, अब्दोन,

30. Out of the tribe of Asher, Mish'al with its suburbs, `Avdon with its suburbs,

31. हेल्कात, और रहोब; ये चार नगर दिए गए।

31. Helkat with its suburbs, and Rechov with its suburbs; four cities.

32. और नप्ताली के गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत खूनी के शरण नगर गलील का केदेश, फिर हम्मोतदोर, और कर्तान; ये तीन नगर दिए गए।

32. Out of the tribe of Naftali, Kedesh in the Galil with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Hammot-dor with its suburbs, and Kartan with its suburbs; three cities.

33. गेर्शोनियों के कुलों के अनुसार उनके सब नगर अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत तेरह ठहरे।।

33. All the cities of the Gershoni according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

34. फिर बाकी लेवियों, अर्थात् मरारियों के कुलों को जबूलून के गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत योक्नाम, कर्ता,

34. To the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zevulun, Yokne`am with its suburbs, and Kartah with its suburbs,

35. दिम्ना, और नहलाल; ये चार नगर दिए गए।

35. Dimnah with its suburbs, Nahalal with its suburbs; four cities.

36. और रूबेन के गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत बेसेर, यहसा,

36. Out of the tribe of Re'uven, Betzer with its suburbs, and Yahatz with its suburbs,

37. केदेमोत, और मेपात; ये चार नगर दिए गए।

37. Kedemot with its suburbs, and Mefa`at with its suburbs; four cities.

38. और गाद के गोत्रा के भाग में से अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत खूनी के शरण नगर गिलाद में का रामोत, फिर महनैम,

38. Out of the tribe of Gad, Ramot in Gil`ad with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Machanayim with its suburbs,

39. हेशबोन, और याजेर, जो सब मिलाकर चार नगर हैं दिए गए।

39. Heshbon with its suburbs, Ya`zer with its suburbs; four cities in all.

40. लेवियों के बाकी कुलों अर्थात् मरारियों के कुलों के अनुसार उनके सब नगर ये ही ठहरे, इस प्रकार उनको बारह नगर चिट्ठी डाल डालकर दिए गए।।

40. All these were the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities.

41. इस्राएलियों की निज भूमि के बीच लेवियों के सब नगर अपनी अपनी चराइयों समेत अड़तालीस ठहरे।

41. All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Yisra'el were forty-eight cities with their suburbs.

42. ये सब नगर अपने अपने चारों ओर की चराइयों के साथ ठहरे; इन सब नगरों की यही दशा थी।।

42. These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus it was with all these cities.

43. इस प्रकार यहोवा ने इस्राएलियों को वह सारा देश दिया, जिसे उस ने उनके पूर्वजों से शपथ खाकर देने को कहा था; और वे उसके अधिकारी होकर उस में बस गए।

43. So the LORD gave to Yisra'el all the land which he swore to give to their fathers; and they possessed it, and lived therein.

44. और यहोवा ने उन सब बातों के अनुसार, जो उस ने उनके पूर्वजों से शपथ खाकर कही थीं, उन्हें चारों ओर से विश्राम दिया; और उनके शत्रुओं में से कोई भी उनके साम्हने टिक न सका; यहोवा ने उन सभों को उनके वश में कर दिया।

44. The LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he swore to their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.

45. जितनी भलाई की बातें यहोवा ने इस्राएल के घराने से कही थीं उन में से कोई भी न छूटी; सब की सब पूरी हुई।।

45. There failed not anything of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Yisra'el; all came to pass.
