1. हे बालकों, प्रभु में अपने माता पिता के आज्ञाकारी बनो, क्योंकि यह उचित है।

1. Ye children, be obedient unto your parents in the Lord , for this is right:

2. Honour thy father and thy mother, which indeed is the first commandment with promise,

3. That it may come to be, well with thee, and thou shalt be long-lived upon the land.

4. And ye fathers, be not provoking your children to anger, but be nourishing them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.

5. Ye servants, be obedient unto them who, after the flesh, are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto the Christ;

6. और मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करनेवालों की नाई दिखाने के लिये सेवा न करो, पर मसीह के दासों की नाई मन से परमेश्वर की इच्छा पर चलो।

6. Not by way of eye-service as man-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God, from the soul,

7. और उस सेवा को मनुष्यों की नहीं, परन्तु प्रभु की जानकर सुइच्छा से करो।

7. with good will, rendering service as unto the Lord, and not unto men;

8. क्योंकि तुम जानते हो, कि जो कोई जैसा अच्छा काम करेगा, चाहे दास हो, चाहे स्वतंत्रा; प्रभु से वैसा ही पाएगा।

8. Knowing that, each one, whatsoever he may do that is good, the same, shall he receive back from the Lord, whether bond or free.

9. और हे स्वामियों, तुम भी धमकियां छोड़कर उन के साथ वैसा ही व्यवहार करो, क्योंकि जानते हो, कि उन का और तुम्हारा दानों का स्वामी स्वर्ग में है, और वह किसी का पक्ष नहीं करता।।

9. And ye masters, the same things, be doing towards them, forbearing your threat knowing that, both their and your Master, is in the heavens, and, respect of persons, there is none, with him.

10. For the rest, be empowering yourselves in the Lord, and in the grasp of his might:

11. परमेश्वर के सारे हथियार बान्ध लो; कि तुम शैतान की युक्तियों के साम्हने खड़े रह सको।

11. Put on the complete armour of God, with a view to your having power to stand against the strategies of the adversary;

12. क्योंकि हमारा यह मल्लयुद्ध, लोहू और मांस से नहीं, परन्तु प्रधानों से और अधिकारियों से, और इस संसार के अन्धकार के हाकिमों से, और उस दुष्टता की आत्मिक सेनाओं से है जो आकाश में हैं।

12. Because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but, against the principalities, against the authorities, against the world-holders, of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenlies.

13. इसलिये परमेश्वर के सारे हथियार बान्ध लो, कि तुम बुरे दिन में साम्हना कर सको, और सब कुछ पूरा करके स्थिर रह सको।

13. For this cause, take up the complete armour of God, in order that ye may receive power to withstand in the evil day, and, all things, having accomplished, to stand!

14. सो सत्य से अपनी कमर कसकर, और धार्मीकता की झिलम पहिन कर।

14. Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15. और पांवों में मेल के सुसमाचार की तैयारी के जूते पहिन कर।

15. And shod your feet with the readiness of the glad-message of peace;

16. और उन सब के साथ विश्वास की ढाल लेकर स्थिर रहो जिस से तुम उस दुष्ट के सब जलते हुए तीरों को बुझा सको।

16. With all, having taken up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall have power, all the ignited darts of the wicked one, to quench;

17. और उद्धार का टोप, और आत्मा की तलवार जो परमेश्वर का वचन है, ले लो।

17. And, the helmet of salvation, welcome ye, and the sword of the spirit, which is what God hath spoken,

18. और हर समय और हर प्रकार से आत्मा में प्रार्थना, और बिनती करते रहो, और इसी लिये जागते रहो, कि सब पवित्रा लोगों के लिये लगातार बिनती किया करो।

18. With all prayer and supplication, praying in every season, in spirit, and, thereunto, watching, with all perseverance and supplication, for all the saints,

19. और मेरे लिये भी, कि मुझे बोलने के समय ऐसा प्रबल वचन दिया जाए, कि मैं हियाव से सुसमाचार का भेद बता सकूं जिस के लिये मैं जंजीर से जकड़ा हुआ राजदूत हूं।

19. And on behalf of me; that, unto me, may be given discourse in the opening of my mouth, with freedom of utterance, to make known the sacred secret of the glad-message

20. और यह भी कि मैं उस के विषय में जैसा मुझे चाहिए हियाव से बोलूं।।

20. In behalf of which I am conducting an embassy in chains, that, therein, I may use freedom of utterance as it is needful for me to speak.

21. और तुखिकुस जो प्रिय भाई और प्रभु में विश्वासयोग्य सेवक है तुम्हें सब बातें बताएगा, कि तुम भी मेरी दशा जानो कि मैं कैसा रहता हूं।

21. In order, however, that, ye also, may know the things which relate to me what I am accomplishing, all things, shall Tychicus make known unto you, he the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord,

22. उसे मैं ने तुम्हारे पास इसी लिये भेजा है, कि तुम हमारी दशा जानो, और वह तुम्हारे मनों को शान्ति दे।।

22. Whom I have sent unto you for this very purpose, that ye may get to know the things concerning us, and he may encourage your hearts.

23. परमेश्वर पिता और प्रभु यीशु मसीह की ओर से भाइयों को शान्ति और विश्वास सहित प्रेम मिले।

23. Peace unto the brethren, and love with faith, from God our Father, and Lord Jesus Christ.

24. जो हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह से सच्चा प्रेम रखते हैं, उन सब पर अनुग्रह होता रहे।।

24. Favour be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptness.
