1. और हम जो उसके सहकर्मी हैं यह भी समझाते हैं, कि परमेश्वर का अनुगंह जो तुम पर हुआ, व्यर्थ न रहने दो।

1. We then, working together with God, make our request to you not to take the grace of God to no purpose.

2. क्योंकि वह तो कहता है, कि अपनी प्रसन्नता के समय मैं ने तेरी सहायता की: देखो, अभी उद्धार का दिन है।

2. (For he says, I have given ear to you at a good time, and I have been your helper in a day of salvation: see, now is the good time; now is the day of salvation):

3. हम किसी बात में ठोकर खाने का कोई भी अवसर नहीं देते, कि हमारी सेवा पर कोई दोष न आए।

3. Giving no cause for trouble in anything, so that no one may be able to say anything against our work;

4. परन्तु हर बात में परमेश्वर के सेवकों की नाई अपने सद्गुणों को प्रगट करते हैं, बड़े धैर्य से, क्लेशों से, दरिद्रता से, संकटो से।

4. But in everything making it clear that we are the servants of God, in quiet strength, in troubles, in need, in sorrow,

5. कोड़े खाने से, कैद होने से, हुल्लड़ों से, परिश्रम से, जागते रहने से, उपवास करने से।

5. In blows, in prisons, in attacks, in hard work, in watchings, in going without food;

6. पवित्राता से, ज्ञान से, धीरज से, कृपालुता से, पवित्रा आत्मा से।

6. In a clean heart, in knowledge, in long waiting, in being kind, in the Holy Spirit, in true love,

7. सच्चे प्रेम से, सत्य के वचन से, परमेश्वर की सामर्थ से; धार्मिकता के हथियारों से जो दहिने, बाएं हैं।

7. In the true word, in the power of God; with the arms of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

8. आदर और निरादर से, दुरनाम और सुनाम से, यद्यपि भरमानेवालों के ऐसे मालूम होते हैं तौभी सच्चे हैं।

8. By glory and by shame, by an evil name and a good name; as untrue, and still true;

9. अनजानों के सदृश्य हैं; तौभी प्रसिद्ध हैं; मरते हुओं के ऐसे हैं और देखों जीवित हैं; मारखानेवालों के सदृश हैं परन्तु प्राण से मारे नहीं जाते।

9. Unnoted, but still kept fully in mind; as near to death, but still living; as undergoing punishment, but not put to death;

10. शोक करनेवाले के समान हैं, परन्तु सर्वदा आनन्द करते हैं, कंगालों के ऐसे हैं, परन्तु बहुतों को धनवान बना देते हैं; ऐसे हैं जैसे हमारे पास कुछ नहीं तौभी सब कुछ रखते हैं।

10. As full of sorrow, but ever glad; as poor, but giving wealth to others; as having nothing, but still having all things.

11. हे कुरिन्थियों, हम ने खुलकर तुम से बातें की हैं, हमारा हृदय तुम्हारी ओर खुला हुआ है।

12. तुम्हारे लिये हमारे मन में कुछ सकेती नहीं, पर तुम्हारे ही मनों में सकेती है।

12. It is not our feelings to you which are narrow, but yours to us.

13. पर अपने लड़के- बाले जानकर तुम से कहता हूं, कि तुम भी उसके बदले में अपना हृदय खोल दो।।

13. Now to give me back payment of the same sort (I am talking as to my children), let your hearts be wide open to me.

14. अविश्वासियों के साथ असमान जूए में न जुतो, क्योंकि धार्मिकता और अधर्म का क्या मेल जोल? या ज्योति और अन्धकार की क्या संगति?

14. Do not keep company with those who have not faith: for what is there in common between righteousness and evil, or between light and dark?

15. और मसीह का बलियाल के साथ क्या लगाव? या विश्वासी के साथ अविश्वासी का क्या नाता?

15. And what agreement is there between Christ and the Evil One? or what part has one who has faith with one who has not?

16. और मूरतों के साथ परमेश्वर के मन्दिर का क्या सम्बन्ध? क्योंकि हम तो जीवते परमेश्वर का मन्दिर हैं; जैसा परमेश्वर ने कहा है कि मैं उन में बसूंगा और उन में चला फिरा करूंगा; और मैं उन का परमेश्वर हूंगा, और वे मेरे लोग होंगे।

18. And will be a Father to you; and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord, the Ruler of all.
