1. हर एक व्यक्ति प्रधान अधिकारियों के अधीन रहे; क्योंकि कोई अधिकार ऐसा नहीं, जो परमेश्वर की ओर स न हो; और जो अधिकार हैं, वे परमेश्वर के ठहराए हुए हैं।
नीतिवचन 8:15

1. Let every soul submit himself unto the authority of the higher powers. (For) There is no power but of God. The powers that be, are ordained of God.

2. इस से जो कोई अधिकार का विरोध करता है, वह परमेश्वर की विधि का साम्हना करता है, और साम्हना करनेवाले दण्ड पाएंगे।

2. Whosoever therefore resisteth power, resisteth the ordinance of God. (And) They that resist, shall receive to themselves damnation.

3. क्योंकि हाकिम अच्छे काम के नहीं, परन्तु बुरे काम के लिये डर का कारण हैं; सो यदि तू हाकिम से निडर रहना चाहता है, तो अच्छा काम कर और उस की ओर से तेरी सराहना होगी;

3. For rulers are not to be feared for good works but for evil. Wilt thou be without fear of the power? Do well then: and so shalt thou be praised of the same.

4. क्योंकि वह तेरी भलाई के लिये परमेश्वर का सेवक है। परन्तु यदि तू बुराई करे, तो डर; क्योकि वह तलवार व्यर्थ लिये हुए नहीं और परमेश्वर का सेवक है; कि उसके क्रोध के अनुसार बुरे काम करनेवाले को दण्ड दे।

4. For he is the minister of God, for thy wealth. But and if thou do evil, then fear: for he beareth not a sword for nought; for he(but) is the minister of God, to take vengeance on them that do evil.

5. इसलिये अधीन रहना न केवल उस क्रोध से परन्तु डर से अवश्य है, वरन विवेक भी यही गवाही देता है।

5. Wherefore ye must needs obey, not for fear of vengeance only:(not only for punishment) but also because of conscience.

6. इसलिये कर भी दो, क्योंकि परमशॆवर के सेवक हैं, और सदा इसी काम में लगे रहते हैं।

6. (And) Even for this cause pay ye tribute. For they are God's(goddes) ministers, serving for the same purpose.(wich maintain the same defence)

7. इसलिये हर एक का हक्क चुकाया करो, जिस कर चाहिए, उसे कर दो; जिसे महसूल चाहिए, उसे महसूल दो; जिस से डरना चाहिए, उस से डरो; जिस का आदर करना चाहिए उसका आदर करो।।

7. Give to every man therefore his duty: Tribute to whom tribute belongeth: Custom to whom custom is due: fear to whom fear belongeth: Honour to whom honour pertaineth.

8. आपस के प्रेम से छोड़ और किसी बात में किसी के कर्जदान न हो; क्योंकि जो दूसरे से प्रेम रखता है, उसी ने व्यवस्था पूरी की है।

8. Owe no thing to any man: but to love one another. For he that loveth another, fulfilleth(hath fulfilled) the law.

9. क्योंकि यह कि व्यभिचार न करना, हत्या न करना; चोरी न करना; लालच न करना; और इन को छोड़ और कोई भी आज्ञा हो तो सब का सारांश इस बात में पाया जाता है, कि अपने पड़ोसी से अपने समान प्र्रेम रख।

9. For these commandments: Thou shalt not commit advoutry:(not break wedlock) Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steal: Thou shalt not bear false witness: Thou shalt not desire:(not lust) and so forth if there be any other commandment, (they) are all comprehended in this saying: Love(This word: Thou shalt Love) thine neighbor as thyself.

10. प्रेम पड़ोसी की कुछ बुराई नहीं करता, इसलिये प्रेम रखना व्यवस्था को पूरा करना है।।
यशायाह 42:21

10. Love hurteth not his neighbor:(Love doth his neighbour no evil) Therefore is love the fulfilling of the law.

11. और समय को पहिचान कर ऐसा ही करो, इसलिये कि अब तुम्हारे लिये नींद से जाग उठने की घड़ी आ पहुंची है, क्योंकि जिस समय हम ने विश्वास किया था, उस समय के विचार से अब हमारा उद्धार निकट है।

11. This also we know, I mean the season, how that it is time that we should now awake out of sleep.(namely the time that the hour is now for us to rise from sleep) For now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12. रात बहुत बीन गई है, और दिन निकलने पर है; इसलिये हम अन्धकार के कामों को तज कर ज्योति के हथियार बान्ध लें।

12. The night is passed and(past, but) the day is come nigh. Let us therefore cast away the deeds(works) of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

13. जैसा दिन को सोहता है, वैसा ही हम सीधी चाल चलें; न कि लीला क्रीड़ा, और पियक्कड़पन, न व्यभिचार, और लुचपन में, और न झगड़े और डाह में।

13. Let us walk honestly as it were in the daylight: not in(not in excess of) eating and drinking: neither in chambering and wantonness: neither in strife and envying:

14. बरन प्रभु यीशु मसीह को पहिन लो, और शरीर के अभिलाषों को पूरा करने का उपाय न करो।।

14. but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ. And make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts of it.
