1. जब हम बच निकले, तो जाना कि यह टापू मिलिते कहलाता है।

1. And when they were scaped, then they knewe that the Ile was called Melite.

2. और उन जंगली लोगों ने हम पर अनोखी कृपा की; क्योंकि मेंह के कारण जो बरस रहा था और जाड़े के कारण उन्हों ने आग सुलगाकर हम सब को ठहराया।

2. And ye straungers shewed vs no litle kyndnesse: for they kyndled a fyre, and receaued vs euery one, because of the present rayne, and because of the colde.

3. जब पौलुस ने लकड़ियों का गट्ठा बटोरकर आग पर रखा, तो एक सांप आंच पाकर निकला और उसके हाथ से लिपट गया।

3. And when Paul had gathered a bondell of stickes, and layde them on the fyre, there came a Uiper out of the heat, and caught hym by the hande.

4. जब उन जंगलियों ने सांप को उसके हाथ में लटके हुए देखा, तो आपस में कहा; सचमुच यह मनुष्य हत्यारा है, कि यद्यपि समुद्र से बच गया, तौभी न्याय ने जीवित रहने न दिया।

4. And when the straungers sawe the beast hang on his hande, they sayde among them selues, No doubt this man is a murtherer: Whom though he haue escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffreth not to lyue.

5. तब उस ने सांप को आग में झटक दिया, और उसे कुछ हानि न पहुंची।

5. And he shoke of the Uiper into the fyre, and felt no harme.

6. परन्तु वे बाट जोहते थे, कि वह सूज जाएगा, या एकाएक गिरके मर जाएगा, परन्तु जब वे बहुत देर तक देखते रहे, और देखा, कि उसका कुछ भी नहीं बिगड़ा, तो और ही विचार कर कहा; यह तो कोई देवता है।।

6. Howbeit, they wayted whe he shoulde haue swolne, or fallen downe dead sodenlie: But after they had loked a great while, and sawe no harme come to him, they chaunged their myndes, and sayde that he was a God.

7. उस जगह के आसपास पुबलियुस नाम उस टापू के प्रधान की भूमि थी: उस ने हमें अपने घर ले जाकर तीन दिन मित्राभाव से पहुनाई की।

7. In the same quarters were possessios of ye chiefe man of the Ile, whose name was Publius, which receaued vs, and lodged vs three dayes curteouslye.

8. पुबलियुस का पिता ज्वर और आंव लोहू से रोगी पड़ा था: सो पौलुस ने उसके पास घर में जाकर प्रार्थना की, और उस पर हाथ रखकर उसे चंगा किया।

8. And it came to passe, that the father of Publius lay sicke of a feuer, and of a bloody flixe: to whom Paul entred in, & prayed, and layde his handes on hym, and healed hym.

9. जब ऐसा हुआ, तो उस टापू के बाकी बीमार आए, और चंगे किए गए।

9. So when this was done, other also which had diseases in the Ile, came and were healed:

10. और उन्हों ने हमारा बहुत आदर किया, और जब हम चलने लगे, तो जो कुछ हमें अवश्य था, जहाज पर रख दिया।।

10. Which also dyd vs great honour, and when we departed, they laded vs with such thynges as were necessary.

11. तीन महीने के बाद हम सिकन्दरिया के एक जहाज पर चल निकले, जो उस टापू में जाड़े भर रहा था; और जिस का चिन्ह दियुसकूरी था।

11. And after three monethes we departed in a shippe of Alexandria, which had wyntred in the Ile, whose badge was Castor and Pollux.

12. सुरकूसा में लंगर डाल करके हम तीन दिन टिके रहे।

12. And when we came to Syracusa, we taryed there three dayes.

13. वहां से हम घूमकर रेगियुम में आए: और एक दिन पुतियुली में आए।

13. And from thence we fet a compasse, and came to Rhegium, & after one day the south wynde blewe, and we came the next day to Puteolus:

14. वहां हम को भाई मिले, और उन के कहने से हम उन के यहां सात दिन तक रहे; और इस रीति से रोम को चले।

14. Where we founde brethren, and were desired to tary with them seuen dayes, and so we came towarde Rome.

15. वहां से भाई हमारा समाचार सुनकर अप्पियुस के चौक और तीन- सराए तक हमारी भेंट करने को निकल आए जिन्हें देखकर पौलुस ने परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद किया, और ढाढ़स बान्धा।।

15. And from thence, when the brethren hearde of vs, they came to meete vs at Appii forum, and at the three tauernes. When Paul sawe the, he thanked God, and waxed bolde.

16. जब हम रोम में पहुंचे, तो पौलुस को एक सिपाही के साथ जो उस की रखवाली करता था, अकेले रहने की आज्ञा हुई।।

16. And when we came to Rome, ye vnder captayne delyuered the prysoners to the chiefe captayne of the hoast: But Paul was suffred to dwell by him selfe, with a souldyer that kept hym.

17. तीन दिन के बाद उस ने यहूदियों के बड़े लोगों को बुलाया, और जब वे इकट्ठे हुए तो उन से कहा; हे भाइयों, मैं ने अपने लोगों के या बापदादों के व्यवहारों के विरोध में कुछ भी नहीं किया, तौभी बन्धुआ होकर यरूशलेम से रोमियों के हाथ सौंपा गया।

17. And it came to passe, that after three dayes Paul called ye chiefe of the Iewes together. And whe they were come, he sayde vnto them: Men and brethren, though I haue committed nothyng agaynst the people, or lawes of the fathers, yet was I delyuered prysoner from Hierusalem, into the handes of the Romanes.

18. उन्हों ने मुझे जांच कर छोड़ देना चाहा, क्योंकि मुझ में मृत्यु के योग्य कोई दोष न था।

18. Which when they had examined me, woulde haue let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.

19. परन्तु जब यहूदी इस के विरोध में बोलने लगे, तो मुझे कैसर की दोहाई देनी पड़ी: न यह कि मुझे अपने लागों पर कोई दोष लगाना था।

19. But when the Iewes spake contrary, I was constrayned to appeale vnto Caesar: not that I had ought to accuse my people of.

20. इसलिये मैं ने तुम को बुलाया है, कि तुम से मिलूं और बातचीत करूं; क्योंकि इस्त्राएल की आशा के लिये मैं इस जंजीर से जकड़ा हुआ हूं।

20. For this cause then haue I called for you, euen to see [you] and to speake with you: because that for the hope of Israel, I am bounde with this chayne.

21. उन्हों ने उस से कहा; न हम ने तेरे विषय में यहूदियों से चिटि्ठयां पाईं, और न भाइयों में से किसी ने आकर तेरे विषय में कुछ बताया, और न बुरा कहा।

21. And they said vnto him: We neither receaued letters out of Iurie concernyng thee, neither any of the brethren that came, shewed or spake any harme of thee.

22. परन्तु तेरा विचार क्या है? वही हम तुझ से सुनना चाहते हैं, क्योंकि हम जानते हैं, कि हर जगह इस मत के विरोध में लोग बातें कहते हैं।।

22. But we wyll heare of thee, what thou thynkest: For as concernyng this sect, we knowe that euery where it is spoke agaynst.

23. तब उन्हों ने उसके लिये एक दिन ठहराया, और बहुत लोग उसके यहां इकट्ठे हुए, और वह परमेश्वर के राज्य की गवाही देता हुआ, और मूसा की व्यवस्था और भाविष्यद्वक्ताओं की पुस्तकों से यीशु के विषय में समझा समझाकर भोर से सांझ तक वर्णन करता रहा।

23. And when they had appoynted hym a day, there came many to hym into his lodgyng, to whom he expounded and testified the kyngdome of God, perswadyng them concernyng Iesus, both out of the lawe of Moyses, and out of the prophetes, euen from morning to night.

24. तब कितनों ने उन बातों को मान लिया, और कितनों ने प्रतीति न की।

24. And some were perswaded in the thynges which were spoken, and some beleued not.

25. जब आपस में एक मत न हुए, तो पौलुस के इस एक बात के कहने पर चले गए, कि पवित्रा आत्मा ने यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा तुम्हारे बापदादों से अच्छा कहा, कि जाकर इन लोगों से कह।

25. And when they agreed not among them selues, they departed after that Paul had spoken one worde, [that is to say] well spake the holy ghost by Esaias the prophete, vnto our fathers,

26. कि सुनते तो रहोगे, परन्तु न समझोगे, और देखते तो रहोगे, परन्तु न बुझोगे।
यशायाह 6:9-10

26. Saying: Go vnto this people, and say, with your eares shall ye heare, and shall not vnderstande: and with your eyes shall ye see, and not perceaue.

27. क्योंकि इन लोगों का मन मोटा, और उन के कान भारी हो गए, और उन्हों ने अपनी आंखें बन्द की हैं, ऐसा न हो कि वे कभी आंखों से देखें, और कानों से सुनें, और मन से समझें और फिरें, और मैं उन्हें चंगा करूं।
यशायाह 6:9-10

27. For the heart of this people is waxed grosse, & their eares are dull of hearing, and their eyes haue they closed: lest they shoulde see with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and vnderstande with their heartes, and shoulde be conuerted, and I shoulde heale them.

28. सो तुम जानो, कि परमेश्वर के इस उद्धार की कथा अन्यजातियों के पास भेजी गई है, और वे सुनेंगे।
भजन संहिता 67:2, भजन संहिता 98:3, यशायाह 40:5

28. Be it knowen therfore vnto you, that this saluation of God is sent to the gentiles, and they shall heare it.

29. जब उस ने यह कहा तो यहूदी आपस में बहुत विवाद करने लगे और वहां से चले गए।।

29. And when he had sayde these wordes, the Iewes departed, and had great reasonyng among them selues.

30. और वह पूरे दो वर्ष अपने भाड़े के घर में रहा।

30. And Paul dwelt two yeres full in his owne hired house, and receaued all that came in vnto hym,

31. और जो उसके पास आते थे, उन सब से मिलता रहा और बिना रोक टोक बहुत निडर होकर परमेश्वर के राज्य का प्रचार करता और प्रभु यीशु मसीह की बातें सिखाता रहा।।

31. Preachyng the kyngdome of God, and teachyng those thynges which concerne the Lorde Iesus Christe, with all confidence, no man forbyddyng hym.
