1. और फरीसियों और सदूकियों ने पास आकर उसे परखने के लिये उस से कहा, कि हमें आकाश का कोई चिन्ह दिखा।

1. Then came to him the pharisees with the sadducees also, and did tempt him, desiring that he would(him to) shew them some sign from heaven.

2. उस ने उन को उत्तर दिया, कि सांझ को तुम कहते हो कि खुला रहेगा क्योंकि आकाश लाल है।

2. He answered and said unto them: At even ye say, we shall have fair weather, and that because the sky is red:

3. और भोर को कहते हो, कि आज आन्धी आएगी क्योंकि आकाश लाल और धुमला है; तुम आकाश का लक्षण देखकर भेद बता सकते हो पर समयों के चिन्हों को भेद नहीं बता सकते?

3. (And) In the morning: ye say, today shall be foul weather, and that because the sky is tremulous(cloudy) and red. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the fashion of the sky: and can ye not discern the signs of the times?

4. इस युग के बुरे और व्यभिचारी लोग चिन्ह ढूंढ़ते हैं पर यूनुस के चिन्ह को छोड़ कोई और चिन्ह उन्हें न दिया जाएगा, और वह उन्हें छोड़कर चला गया।।

4. The froward nation, and advoutrous, seeketh a sign: (and) there shall none other sign be given unto them, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. So left he them and departed.

5. और चेले पार जाते समय रोटी लेना भूल गए थे।

5. And when his disciples were come to the other side of the water, they had forgotten to take bread with them.

6. यीशु ने उन से कहा, देखो; फरीसियों और सदूकियों के खमीर से चौकस रहना।

6. Then Jesus said unto them: Take heed and beware of the leaven of the pharisees, and of the sadducees.

7. वे आपस में विचार करने लगे, कि हम तो रोटी नहीं लाए।

7. (And) They thought among(in) themselves saying: (because) we have brought no bread with us.

8. यह जानकर, यीशु ने उन से कहा, हे अल्पविश्वासियों, तुम आपस में क्यों विचार करते हो कि हमारे पास रोटी नहीं?

8. When Jesus understood that,(perceived it) he said unto them. O ye of little faith, why are your minds cumbered because ye have brought no bread?

9. क्या तुम अब तक नहीं समझे? और उन पांच हजार की पांच रोटी स्मरण नहीं करते, और न यह कि कितनी टोकरियां उठाईं थीं?

9. Do ye not yet perceive, neither remember those five loaves, when there were five thousand men, and how many baskets took ye up?

10. और न उन चार हजार की सात रोटी; और न यह कि कितने टोकरे उठाए गए थे?

10. Neither the seven loaves, when there were four thousand:(iiiii. M.) and how many baskets took ye up?

11. तुम क्यों नहीं समझते कि मैं ने तुम से रोटियों के विषय में नहीं कहा? फरीसियों और सदूकियों के खमीर से चौकस रहना।

11. Why perceive ye not then, that I spake not unto you of bread, when I said, beware of the leaven of the pharisees and of the sadducees?

12. तब उन को समझ में आया, कि उस ने रोटी के खमीर से नहीं, पर फरीसियों और सदूकियों की शिक्षा से चौकस रहने को कहा था।

12. Then understood they, how that he bade not them beware of the leaven of bread: but of the doctrine of the pharisees, and of the sadducees.

13. यीशु कैसरिया फिलिप्पी के देश में आकर अपने चेलों से पूछने लगा, कि लोग मनुष्य के पुत्रा को क्या कहते हैं?

13. When Jesus came into the coasts of the city which is called Cesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples saying: Whom do men say that I the son of man am?

14. उन्हों ने कहा, कितने तो यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देनेवाला कहते हैं और कितने एलिरयाह, और कितने यिर्मयाह या भविष्यद्वक्ताओं में से कोई एक कहते हैं।

14. They said: Some say that thou art John baptist, some Helyas, some Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15. उस ने उन से कहा; परन्तु तुम मुझे क्या कहते हो?

15. He said unto them: But whom say ye that I am?

16. शमौन पतरस ने उत्तर दिया, कि तू जीवते परमेश्वर का पुत्रा मसीह है।

16. Simon Peter answered, and said: Thou art Christ the son of the living God.

17. यीशु ने उस को उत्तर दिया, कि हे शमौन योना के पुत्रा, तू धन्य है; क्योंकि मांस और लोहू ने नहीं, परन्तु मेरे पिता ने जो स्वर्ग में है, यह बात तुझ पर प्रगट की है।

17. And Jesus answered and said to him: Happy(Blessed) art thou Simon the son of Jonas, for flesh and blood have(hath) not opened unto thee that, but my father which is in heaven.

18. और मैं भी तुझ से कहता हूं, कि तू पतरस है; और मैं इस पत्थर पर अपनी कलीसिया बनाऊंगा: और अधोलोक के फाटक उस पर प्रबल न होंगे।

18. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter. And upon this rock I will build my congregation: and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19. मैं तुझे स्वर्ग के राज्य की कुंजियां दूंगा: और जो कुछ तू पृथ्वी पर बान्धेगा, वह स्वर्ग में बन्धेगा; और जो कुछ तू पृथ्वी पर खोलेगा, वह स्वर्ग में खुलेगा।

19. And I will give unto thee, the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatsoever thou bindest upon earth, it shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou loosest(lowsest) on earth, it shall be loosed(lowsed) in heaven.

20. तब उस ने चेलों को चिताया, कि किसी से न कहना! कि मैं मसीह हूं।

20. Then he charged his disciples, that they should tell no man, that he was Jesus Christ.

21. उस समय से यीशु अपने चेलों को बताने लगा, कि मुझे अवश्य है, कि यरूशलेम को जाऊं, और पुरनियों और महायाजकों और शास्त्रियों के हाथ से बहुत दुख उठाऊं; और मार डाला जाऊं; और तीसरे दिन जी उठूं।

21. From that time forth, Jesus began to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the seniors,(elders) and of the high(hye) priests, and of the scribes, and must be killed, and rise again the third day.

22. इस पर पतरस उसे अलग ले जाकर झिड़कने लगा कि हे प्रभु, परमेश्वर न करे; तुझ पर ऐसा कभी न होगा।

22. (But) Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him saying: Master favor thy self, this shall not come unto thee.

23. उस ने फिरकर पतरस से कहा, हे शैतान, मेरे साम्हने से दूर हो: तू मेरे लिये ठोकर का कारण है; क्योंकि तू परमेश्वर की बातें नहीं, पर मनुष्यों की बातों पर मन लगाता है।

23. Then turned he about, and said unto Peter: go(come) after me Satan, thou offendest me, because thou perceivest(favourest or savourest) not godly things: but worldly things.

24. तब यीशु ने अपने चेलों से कहा; यदि कोई मेरे पीछे आना चाहे, तो अपने आप का इन्कार करे और अपना क्रूस उठाए, और मेरे पीछे हो ले।

24. Jesus then said to his disciples. If any man will follow me, let him forsake himself, and take up his cross and follow me.

25. क्योंकि जो कोई अपना प्राण बचाना चाहे, वह उसे खोएगा; और जो कोई मेरे लिये अपना प्राण खोएगा, वह उसे पाएगा।

25. For whosoever will save his life, shall loose it. And whosoever shall loose his life for my sake, shall find it.(loose, exact spelling; from the hebrew to open, may be also lose, or subdue)

26. यदि मनुष्य सारे जगत को प्राप्त करे, और अपने प्राण की हाति उठाए, तो उसे क्या लाभ होगा? या मनुष्य अपने प्राण के बदले में क्या देगा?

26. What shall it profit(What helpeth) a man, if(though) he should win all the whole world: so(if) he loose his own soul?(and yet suffer harm in his soul?) Or else what shall a man give to redeem his soul again withal?

27. मनुष्य का पुत्रा अपने स्वर्गदूतों के साथ अपने पिता की महिमा में आएगा, और उस समय वह हर एक को उसके कामों के अनुसार प्रतिफल देगा।

27. For the son of man shall come in the glory of his father, with his angels, and then shall he reward every man according to his deeds.

28. मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि जो यहां खड़े हैं, उन में से कितने ऐसे हैं; कि जब तक मनुष्य के पुत्रा को उसके राज्य में आते हुए न देख लेंगे, तब तक मृत्यु का स्वाद कभी न चखेंगे।

28. Verily I say unto you, some there be among them that here stand, which shall not taste of death, till they shall have seen the son of man come in his kingdom.
