1. फिर यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा,

1. The Lord spoke to Moses and said,

2. मिद्यानियों से इस्त्राएलियों का पलटा ले; बाद को तू अपने लोगों में जा मिलेगा।

2. Moses, tell the Israelites this: 'Go and attack the Midianites, and do to them what they did to you.' After that, Moses, you will die.'

3. तब मूसा ने लोगों से कहा, अपने में से पुरूषों को युद्ध के लिये हथियार बन्धाओ, कि वे मिद्यानियों पर चढ़के उन से यहोवा का पलटा ले।

3. So Moses spoke to the people. He said, 'Choose some of your men to be soldiers. The Lord will use these men to do to the Midianites what they did to you.

4. इस्त्राएल के सब गोत्रों में से प्रत्येक गोत्रा के एक एक हजार पुरूषों को युद्ध करने के लिये भेजो।

4. Choose 1000 men from each of the tribes of Israel.

5. तब इस्त्राएल के सब गोत्रों में से प्रत्येक गोत्रा के एक एक हजार पुरूष चुने गये, अर्थात् युद्ध के लिये हथियार- बन्द बारह हजार पुरूष।

5. There will be a total of 12,000 soldiers from the tribes of Israel.'

6. प्रत्येक गोत्रा में से उन हजार हजार पुरूषों को, और एलीआजर याजक के पुत्रा पीनहास को, मूसा ने युद्ध करने के लिये भेजा, और उसके हाथ में पवित्रास्थान के पात्रा और वे तुरहियां थीं जो सांस बान्ध बान्ध कर फूंकी जाती थीं।

6. Moses sent these 12,000 men to war. He sent Phineas son of Eleazar with them as the priest. Phineas took the holy things and the horns and trumpets with him.

7. और जो आज्ञा यहोवा ने मूसा को दी थी, उसके अनुसार उन्हों ने मिद्यानियों से युद्ध करके सब पुरूषों को घात किया।

7. The Israelites fought the Midianites as the Lord had commanded. They killed all of the Midianite men.

8. और दूसरे जूझे हुओं को छोड़ उन्हों ने एवी, रेकेम, सूर, हूर, और रेबा नाम मिद्यान के पांचों राजाओं को घात किया; और बोर के पुत्रा बिलाम को भी उन्हों ने तलवार से घात किया।

8. Among the people who they killed were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba�the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with a sword.

9. और इस्त्राएलियों ने मिद्यानी स्त्रियों को बालबच्चों समेत बन्धुआई में कर लिया; और उनके गाय- बैल, भेड़- बकरी, और उनकी सारी सम्पत्ति को लूट लिया।

9. The Israelites took the Midianite women and children as prisoners. They also took all their sheep, cattle, and other things.

10. और उनके निवास के सब नगरों, और सब छावनियों को फूंक दिया;

10. Then they burned all their towns and villages.

11. तब वे, क्या मनुष्य क्या पशु, सब बन्धुओं और सारी लूट- पाट को लेकर

11. They took all the people and animals

12. यरीहो के पास की यरदन नदी के तीर पर, मोआब के अराबा में, छावनी के निकट, मूसा और एलीआजर याजक और इस्त्राएलियों की मण्डली के पास आए।।

12. and brought them to Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the other Israelites. They brought all of the things they took in war to the camp of Israel. The Israelites were camped in the Jordan Valley in Moab, on the east side of the Jordan River across from Jericho.

13. तब मूसा और एलीआजर याजक और मण्डली के सब प्रधान छावनी के बाहर उनका स्वागत करने को निकले।

13. Then Moses, Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the people went out of the camp to meet with the soldiers.

14. और मूसा सहस्त्रापति- शतपति आदि, सेनापतियों से, जो युद्ध करके लौटे आते थे क्रोधित होकर कहने लगा,

14. Moses was very angry with the leaders of the army, the commanders of 1000 men, and the commanders of 100 men, who came back from the war.

15. क्या तुम ने सब स्त्रियों को जीवित छोड़ दिया?

15. Moses said to them, 'Why did you let the women live?

16. देखे, बिलाम की सम्मति से, पोर के विषय में इस्त्राएलियों से यहोवा का विश्वासघात इन्हीं ने कराया, और यहोवा की मण्डली में मरी फैली।

16. These are the women who listened to Balaam and caused the men of Israel to turn away from the Lord that time at Peor. The disease will come to the Lord's people again.

17. सो अब बालबच्चों में से हर एक लड़के को, और जितनी स्त्रियों ने पुरूष का मुंह देखा हो उन सभों को घात करो।

17. Now, kill all the Midianite boys, and kill all the Midianite women who have had sexual relations with a man.

18. परन्तु जितनी लड़कियों ने पुरूष का मुंह न देखा हो उन सभों को तुम अपने लिये जीवित रखो।

18. You can let all the young girls live�but only if they never had sexual relations with any man.

19. और तुम लोग सात दिन तक छावनी के बाहर रहो, और तुम में से जितनों ने किसी प्राणी को घात किया, और जितनों ने किसी मरे हुए को छूआ हो, वे सब अपने अपने बन्धुओं समेत तीसरे और सातवें दिनों में अपने अपने को पाप छुड़ाकर पावन करें।

19. And then, all you men who killed other people must stay outside the camp for seven days. You must stay outside the camp even if you just touched a dead body. On the third day you and your prisoners must make yourselves pure. You must do the same thing again on the seventh day.

20. और सब वस्त्रों, और चमड़े की बनी हुई सब वस्तुओं, और बकरी के बालों की और लकड़ी की बनी हुई सब वस्तुओं को पावन कर लो।

20. You must wash all of your clothes. You must wash anything made with leather, wool, or wood. You must purify yourselves.'

21. तब एलीआजर याजक ने सेना के उन पुरूषों से जो युद्ध करने गए थे कहा, व्यवस्था की जिस विधि की आज्ञा यहोवा ने मूसा को दी है वह यह है,

21. Then Eleazar the priest spoke to the soldiers. He said, 'These are the rules that the Lord gave to Moses for soldiers coming back from war.

22. कि सोना, चांदी, पीतल, लोहा, रांगा, और सीसा,

22. You must put gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, or lead into the fire and then wash these things with the special water to make them pure. If something can be put in the fire, you must put it in fire to purify it. If things cannot be put in fire, you must still wash them with the special water.

23. जो कुछ आग में ठहर सके उसको आग में डालो, तब वह शुद्ध ठहरेगा; तौभी वह अशुद्धता छुड़ानेवाले जल के द्वारा पावन किया जाए; परन्तु जो कुछ आग में न ठहर सके उसे जल में डुबाओ।

24. और सातवें दिन अपने वस्त्रों को धोना, तब तुम शुद्ध ठहरोगे; और तब छावनी में आना।।

24. On the seventh day you must wash all of your clothes. Then you will be pure. After that you can come into camp.'

25. फिर यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा,

25. Then the Lord said to Moses,

26. एलीआजर याजक और मण्डली के पितरों के घरानों के मुख्य मुख्य पुरूषों को साथ लेकर तू लूट के मनुष्यों और पशुओं की गिनती कर;

26. You, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders should count all of the prisoners, animals, and everything the soldiers took in war.

27. तब उनको आधा आधा करके एक भाग उन सिपाहियों को जो युद्ध करने को गए थे, और दूसरा भाग मण्डली को दे।

27. Then divide these things between the soldiers who went to war and the rest of the Israelites.

28. फिर जो सिपाही युद्ध करने को गए थे, उनके आधे में से यहोवा के लिये, क्या मनुष्य, क्या गाय- बैल, क्या गदहे, क्या भेड़- बकरियां

28. Take part of these things from the soldiers who went to war. That part will belong to the Lord. The Lord's share is one from every 500 items. This includes people, cattle, donkeys, and sheep.

29. पांच सौ के पीछे एक को मानकर ले ले; और यहोवा की भेंट करके एलीआजर याजक को दे दे।

29. Take that share from the soldiers' half of the things they took in war. Then give these things to Eleazar the priest. That part will belong to the Lord.

30. फिर इस्त्राएलियों के आधे में से, क्या मनुष्य, क्या गाय- बैल, क्या गदहे, क्या भेड़- बकरियां, क्या किसी प्रकार का पशु हो, पचास के पीछे एक लेकर यहोवा के निवास की रखवाली करनेवाले लेवियों को दे।

30. And then, from the people's half, take one thing for every 50 items. This includes people, cattle, donkeys, sheep, or any other animal. Give that share to the Levites, because they take care of the Lord's Holy Tent. '

31. यहोवा की इस आज्ञा के अनुसार जो उस ने मूसा को दी मूसा और एलीआजर याजक ने किया।

31. So Moses and Eleazar did what the Lord commanded Moses.

32. और जो वस्तुएं सेना के पुरूषों ने अपने अपने लिये लूट ली थीं उन से अधिक की लूट यह थी; अर्थात् छ: लाख पचहत्तर हजार भेड़- बकरियां,

32. The soldiers had taken 675,000 sheep,

33. बहत्तर हजार गाय बैल,

33. 72,000 cattle,

34. इकसठ हजार गदहे,

34. 61,000 donkeys,

35. और मनुष्यों में से जिन स्त्रियों ने पुरूष का मुंह नहीं देखा था वह सब बत्तीस हजार थीं।

35. and 32,000 women. (These are only the women who had not had sexual relations with any man.)

36. और इसका आधा, अर्थात् उनका भाग जो युद्ध करने को गए थे, उस में भेड़बकरियां तीन लाख साढ़े सैंतीस हजार,

36. The soldiers who went to war got 337,500 sheep.

37. जिस में से पौने सात सौ भेड़- बकरियां यहोवा का कर ठहरीं।

37. They gave 675 sheep to the Lord.

38. और गाय- बैल छत्तीस हजार, जिन में से बहत्तर यहोवा का कर ठहरे।

38. The soldiers got 36,000 cattle. They gave 72 cattle to the Lord.

39. और गदहे साढ़े तीस हजार, जिन में से इकसठ यहोवा का कर ठहरे।

39. The soldiers got 30,500 donkeys. They gave 61 donkeys to the Lord.

40. और मनुष्य सोलह हजार जिन में से बत्तीस प्राणी यहोवा का कर ठहरे।

40. The soldiers got 16,000 women. They gave 32 women to the Lord.

41. इस कर को जो यहोवा की भेंट थी मूसा ने यहोवा की आज्ञा के अनुसार एलीआजर याजक को दिया।

41. Moses gave all of these gifts for the Lord to Eleazar the priest, as the Lord had commanded him.

42. और इस्त्राएलियों की मण्डली का आधा

42. Then Moses counted the people's half. This was their share that Moses had taken from the soldiers who had gone to war.

43. तीन लाख साढ़े सैंतिस हजार भेड़- बकरियां

43. The people got 337,500 sheep,

44. छत्तीस हजार गाय- बैल,

44. 36,000 cattle,

45. साढ़े तीस हजार गदहे,

45. 30,500 donkeys,

46. और सोलह हजार मनुष्य हुए।

46. and 16,000 women.

47. इस आधे में से, जिसे मूसा ने युद्ध करनेवाले पुरूषों के पास से अलग किया था, यहोवा की आज्ञा के अनुसार मूसा ने, क्या मनुष्य क्या पशु, पचास पीछे एक लेकर यहोवा के निवास की रखवाली करनेवाले लेवियों को दिया।

47. For every 50 items, Moses took one thing for the Lord. This included the animals and the people. Then he gave them to the Levites because they took care of the Lord's Holy Tent. Moses did this as the Lord commanded.

48. तब सहस्त्रापति- शतपति आदि, जो सरदार सेना के हजारों के ऊपर नियुक्त थे, वे मूसा के पास आकर कहने लगे,

48. Then the leaders of the army (the leaders over 1000 men and the leaders over 100 men) came to Moses.

49. जो सिपाही हमारे अधीन थे उनकी तेरे दासों ने गिनती ली, और उन में से एक भी नहीं घटा।

49. They told Moses, 'We, your servants, have counted our soldiers. We have not missed any of them.

50. इसलिये पायजेब, कड़े, मुंदरियां, बालियां, बाजूबन्द, सोने के जो गहने, जिस ने पाया है, उनको हम यहोवा के साम्हने अपने प्राणों के निमित्त प्रायश्चित्त करने को यहोवा की भेंट करके ले आए हैं।

50. So we are bringing the Lord's gift from every soldier. We are bringing things that are made of gold�armbands, bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces. This gift to the Lord is to make us pure.'

51. तब मूसा और एलीआजर याजक ने उन से वे सब सोने के नक्काशीदार गहने ले लिए।

51. So Moses and Eleazar the priest accepted all these gold items from them.

52. और सहस्त्रापतियों और शतपतियों ने जो भेंट का सोना यहोवा की भेंट करके दिया वह सब का सब सोलह हजार साढ़े सात सौ शेकेल का था।

52. The gold that the commanders and captains gave to the Lord weighed about 424 pounds.

53. ( योद्धाओं ने तो अपने अपने लिये लूट ले ली थी। )

53. The soldiers kept the rest of their share of the things they took in war.

54. यह सोना मूसा और एलीआजर याजक ने सहस्त्रापतियों और शतपतियों से लेकर मिलापवाले तम्बू में पहुंचा दिया, कि इस्त्राएलियों के लिये यहोवा के साम्हने स्म्रण दिलानेवाली वस्तु ठहरे।।

54. Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from the commanders and captains and then put that gold in the Meeting Tent. This present was a memorial before the Lord for the Israelites.
