1. नबूकदनेस्सर राजा ने सोने की एक मूरत बनवाई, जिनकी ऊंचाई साठ हाथ, और चौड़ाई छ: हाथ की थी। और उस ने उसको बाबुल के प्रान्त के दूरा नाम मैदान में खड़ा कराया।

1. In the eighteenth year Nebuchadnezzar the king made a golden image, its height was sixty cubits, [and] its breadth [was] six cubits. And he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

2. तब नबूकदनेस्सर राजा ने अधिपतियों, हाकिमों, गवर्नरों, जजों, खजांनचियों, न्यायियों, शास्त्रियों, आदि प्रान्त- प्रान्त के सब अधिकारियों को बुलवा भेजा कि वे उस मूरत की प्रतिष्ठा में आएं जो उस ने खड़ी कराई थी।

2. And he sent forth to gather the governors, and the captains, and the heads of provinces, chiefs, and princes, and those who were in authority, and all the rulers of districts, to come to the dedication of the image.

3. तब अधिपति, हाकिम, गर्वनर, जज, खजांनची, न्यायी, शास्त्री आदि प्रान्त- प्रान्त के सब अधिकारी नबूकदनेस्सर राजा की खड़ी कराई हुई मूरत की प्रतिष्ठा के लिये इकट्ठे हुए, और उस मूरत के साम्हने खड़े हुए।

3. So the heads of provinces, the governors, the captains, the chiefs, the great princes, those who were in authority, and all the rulers of districts, were gathered to the dedication of the image which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. And they stood before the image.

4. तब ढिंढोरिये ने ऊंचे शब्द से पुकारकर कहा, हे देश- देश और जाति- जाति के लोगों, और भिन्न भिन्न भाषा बोलनेवालो, तुम को यह आज्ञा सुनाई जाती है कि,

4. Then a herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, you peoples, tribes, and languages,

5. जिस समय तुम नरसिंगे, बांसुली, वीणा, सारंगी, सितार, शहनाई आदि सब प्रकार के बाजों का शब्द सुनो, तुम उसी समय गिरकर नबूकदनेस्सर राजा की खड़ी कराई हुए सोने की मूरत को दण्डवत् करो।

5. at what hour you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, pipe, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and every kind of music, you shall fall down and worship the golden image which King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.

6. और जो कोई गिरकर दण्डवत् न करेगा वह उसी घड़ी धधकते हुए भट्ठे के बीच में डाल दिया जाएगा।

6. And whosoever shall not fall down and worship, in the same hour he shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace.

7. इस कारण उस समय ज्यों ही सब जाति के लोगों को नरसिंगे, बांसुली, वीणा, सारंगी, सितार शहनाई आदि सब प्रकार के बाजों का शब्द सुन पड़ा, त्यों ही देश- देश और जाति- जाति के लोगों और भिन्न- भिन्न भाषा बोलनेवालों ने गिरकर उस सोने की मूरत को जो नबूकदनेस्सर राजा ने खड़ी कराई थी, दण्डवत् की।।

7. And it came to pass when the nations heard the sound of the trumpet, pipe, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the nations, tribes, and languages fell down and worshipped the golden image which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

8. उसी समय कई एक कसदी पुरूष राजा के पास गए, और कपट से यहूदियों की चुगली खाई।

8. Then [certain] Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews to the king, [saying],

9. वे नबुकदनेस्सर राजा से कहने लगे, हे राजा, तू चिरंजीव रहे।

9. O king, live forever!

10. हे राजा, तू ने तो यह आज्ञा दी है कि जो मनुष्य नरसिंगे, बांसुली, वीणा, सारंगी, सितार, शहनाई आदि सब प्रकार के बाजों का शब्द सुने, वह गिरकर उस सोने की मूरत को दण्डवत करे;

10. You, O king, have made a decree that every man who shall hear the sound of the trumpet, pipe, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music,

11. और जो कोई गिरकर दण्डवत् न करे वह धधकते हुए भट्ठे के बीच में डाल दिया जाए।

11. and shall not fall down and worship the golden image, shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace.

12. देख, शद्रक, मेशक, और अबेदनगो नाम कुछ यहूदी पुरूष हैं, जिन्हें तू ने बाबुल के प्रान्त के कार्य के ऊपर नियुक्त किया है। उन पुरूषों ने, हे राजा, तेरी आज्ञा की कुछ चिन्ता नहीं की; वे तेरे देवता की उपासना नहीं करते, और जो सोने की मूरत तू ने खड़ी कराई है, उसको दण्डवत् नहीं करते।।

12. There are [certain] Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon--Shadrach, Meshach, [and] Abed-Nego, who have not obeyed your decree, O king: they serve not your gods, and worship not the golden image which you have set up.

13. तब नबूकदनेस्सर ने रोष और जलजलाहट में आकर आज्ञा दी कि शद्रक मेशक और अबेदनगो को लाओ। तब वे पुरूष राजा के साम्हने हाजिर किए गए।

13. Then Nebuchadnezzar, in wrath and anger, commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. And they were brought before the king.

14. नबूकदनेस्सर ने उन से पूछा, हे शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो, तुम लोग जो मेरे देवता की उपासना नहीं करते, और मेरी खड़ी कराई हुई सोने की मूरत को दण्डवत् नहीं करते, सो क्या तुम जान बूझकर ऐसा करते हो?

14. And Nebuchadnezzar answered and said to them, Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, [and] Abed-Nego, that you serve not my gods, and worship not the golden image which I have set up?

15. यदि तुम अभी तैयार हो, कि जब नरसिंगे, बाुसुली, वीणा, सारंगी, सितार, शहनाई आदि सब प्रकार के बाजों का शब्द सुनो, और उसी क्षण गिरकर मेरी बनवाई हुई मूरत को दण्डवत् करो, तो बचोगे; और यदि तुम दण्डवत् ने करो तो इसी घड़ी धधकते हुए भट्ठे के बीच में डाले जाओगे; फिर ऐसा कौन देवता है, जो तुम को मेरे हाथ से छुड़ा सके?

15. Now then, if you are ready, whenever you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, pipe, harp, sackbut, psaltery, harmony, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the golden image which I have made, [fine;] but if you will not worship, in the same hour you shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace; and who is the God that shall deliver you out of my hand?

16. शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो ने राजा से कहा, हे नबूकदनेस्सर, इस विषय में तुझे उत्तर देने का हमें कुछ प्रयोजन नहीं जान पड़ता।

16. Then Shadrach, Meshach [and] Abed-Nego answered and said to King Nebuchadnezzar, We have no need to answer you concerning this matter.

17. हमारा परमेश्वर, जिसकी हम उपासना करते हैं वह हम को उस धधकते हुए भट्टे की आग से बचाने की शक्ति रखता है; वरन हे राजा, वह हमें तेरे हाथ से भी छुड़ा सकता है।

17. For our God whom we serve is in the heavens, able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He shall rescue us from your hands, O king.

18. परन्तु, यदि नहीं, तो हे राजा तुझे मालूम हो, कि हम लोग तेरे देवता की उपासना नहीं करेंगे, और न तेरी खड़ी कराई हुई सोने की मूरत को दण्डवत् करेंगे।।

18. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we [will] not serve your gods, neither [will we] worship the image which you have set up.

19. तब नबूकदनेस्सर झुंझला उठा, और उसके चेहरे का रंग शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो की ओर बदल गया। और उस ने आज्ञा दी कि भट्ठे को सातगुणा अधिक धधका दो।

19. Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with wrath, and the form of his countenance was changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. And he gave orders to heat the furnace seven times [more than usual], until it should burn to the uttermost.

20. फिर अपनी सेना में के कई एक बलवान् पुरूषों को उस ने आज्ञा दी, कि शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो को बान्धकर उन्हें धधकते हुए भट्ठे में डाल दो।

20. And he commanded mighty men to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and to cast [them] into the burning fiery furnace.

21. तब वे पुरूष अपने मोजों, अंगरखों, बागों और और वस्त्रों सहित बान्धकर, उस धधकते हुए भट्ठे में डाल दिए गए।

21. Then those men were bound with their coats, caps, and trousers, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace,

22. वह भट्ठा तो राजा की दृढ़ आज्ञा होने के कारण अत्यन्त धधकाया गया था, इस कारण जिन पुरूषों ने शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो को उठाया वे ही आग की आंच से जल मरे।

22. forasmuch as the king's word prevailed; and the furnace was made exceedingly hot.

23. और उसी धधकते हुए भट्ठे के बीच ये तीनों पुरूष, शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो, बन्धे हुए फेंक दिए गए।।
इब्रानियों 11:34

23. Then these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell bound into the midst of the burning furnace, and walked in the midst of the flame, singing praises to God, and blessing the Lord.

24. तब नबूकदनेस्सरे राजा अचम्भित हुआ और घबराकर उठ खड़ा हुआ। और अपने मन्त्रियों से पूछने लगा, क्या हम ने उस आग के बीच तीन ही पुरूष बन्धे हुए नहीं डलवाए? उन्हों ने राजा को उत्तर दिया, हां राजा, सच बात तो है।

24. And Nebuchadnezzar heard them singing praises. And he wondered, and rose up in haste, and said to his nobles, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? And they said to the king, Yes, O king.

25. फिर उस ने कहा, अब मैं देखता हूं कि चार पुरूष आग के बीच खुले हुए टहल रहे हैं, और उनको कुछ भी हानि नहीं पहुंची; और चौथे पुरूष का स्वरूप ईश्वर के पुत्रा के सदृश्य है।।

25. And the king said, But I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there has no harm happened to them; and the appearance of the fourth is like the Son of God.

26. फिर नबूकदनेस्सर उस धधकते हुए भट्ठे के द्वार के पास जाकर कहने लगा, हे शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो, हे परमप्रधान परमेश्वर के दासो, निकलकर यहां आओ! यह सुनकर शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो आग के बीच से निकल आए।

26. Then Nebuchadnezzar drew near to the door of the burning fiery furnace, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, [and] Abed-Nego, you servants of the Most High God, proceed forth, and come here. So Shadrach, Meshach, [and] Abed-Nego, came forth out of the midst of the fire.

27. जब अधिपति, हाकिम, गर्वनर और राजा के मन्त्रियों ने, जो इकट्ठे हुए थे, उन पुरूषों की ओर देखा, तब उनकी देह में आग का कुछ भी प्रभाव नहीं पाया; और उनके सिर का एक बाल भी न झुलसा, न उनके मोजे कुछ बिगड़े, न उन में जलने की कुछ गन्ध पाई गई।

27. Then were assembled the satraps, and captains, and heads of provinces, and the royal princes; and they saw the men, [and perceived] that the fire had not had power against their bodies, and the hair of their head was not burned, and their coats were not scorched, nor was the smell of fire upon them.

28. नबूकदनेस्सर कहने लगा, धन्य है शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो का परमेश्वर, जिस ने अपना दूत भेजकर अपने इन दासों को इसलिये बचाया, क्योंकि इन्हों ने राजा की आज्ञा न मानकर, उसी पर भरोसा रखा, और यह सोचकर अपना शरीर भी अर्पण किया, कि हम अपने परमेश्वर को छोड़, किसी देवता की उपासना वा दण्डवत् न करेंगे।

28. And King Nebuchadnezzar answered and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, [and] Abed-Nego, who has sent His angel, and delivered His servants, because they trusted in Him; and they have changed the king's word, and delivered their bodies to be burned, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

29. इसलिये अब मैं यह आज्ञा देता हूं कि देश- देश और जाति- जाति के लोगों, और भिन्न- भिन्न भाषा बोलनेवालों में से जो कोई शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो के परमेश्वर की कुछ निन्दा करेगा, वह टुकड़े टुकड़े किया जाएगा, और उसका घर घूरा बनाया जाएगा; क्योंकि ऐसा कोई और देवता नहीं जो इस रीति से बचा सके।

29. Therefore I publish a decree: Every people, tribe, [or] language that shall speak reproachfully against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, [and] Abed-Nego shall be destroyed, and their houses shall be plundered, because there is no other God who shall be able to deliver thus.

30. तब राजा ने बाबुल के प्रान्त में शद्रक, मेशक, अबेदनगो का पद और ऊंचा किया।।

30. Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, [and] Abed-Nego, in the province of Babylon, and advanced them, and gave them authority to rule over all the Jews who were in his kingdom.
