1. और इस्राएल के प्रधानों के विषय तू यह विलापगीत सुना,

1. Thou also, take vp a lamentation for the princes of Israel,

2. तेरी माता एक कैसी सिंहनी थी ! वह सिंहों के बीच बैठा करती और अपने बच्चों को जवान सिंहों के बीच पालती पोसती थी।

2. And say, Wherefore lay thy mother as a lyonesse among the lyons? she nourished her yong ones among the lyons whelps,

3. अपने बच्चों में से उस ने एक को पाला और वह जवान सिंह हो गया, और अहेर पकडना सीख गया; उस ने मनुष्यों को भी फाड़ खाया।

3. And she brought vp one of her whelps, and it became a lyon, and it learned to catch the praye, and it deuoured men.

4. और जाति जाति के लोगों ने उसकी चर्चा सुनी, और उसे अपने खोदे हुए गड़हे में फंसाया; और उसके नकेल डालकर उसे मिस्र देश में ले गए।

4. The nations also heard of him, and he was taken in their nets, and they brought him in chaines vnto the land of Egypt.

5. जब उसकी मां ने देखा कि वह धीरज धरे रही तौभी उसकी आशा टूट गई, तब अपने एक और बच्चे को लेकर उसे जवान सिंह कर दिया।

5. Nowe when she sawe, that she had waited and her hope was lost, she tooke another of her whelps, and made him a lyon.

6. तब वह जवान सिंह होकर सिंहों के बीच चलने फिरने लगा, और वह भी अहेर पकड़ना सीख गया; और मनुष्यों को भी फाड़ खाया।

6. Which went among the lyons, and became a lyon, and learned to catch the praye, and he deuoured men.

7. और उस ने उनके भवनों को बिगाड़ा, और उनके नगरों को उजाड़ा वरन उसके गरजने के डर के मारे देश और जो कुछ उस में था सब उजड़ गया।

7. And he knew their widowes, and he destroyed their cities, and the land was wasted, and all that was therein by the noyse of his roaring.

8. तब चारों ओर के जाति जाति के लोग अपने अपने प्रान्त से उसके विरूद्ध निकल आए, और उसके लिये जाल लगाया; और वह उनके खोदे हुए गड़हे में फंस गया।

8. Then the nations set against him on euery side of the countreys, and laide their nets for him: so he was taken in their pit.

9. तब वे उसके नकेल डालकर और कठघरे में बन्द करके बाबुल के राजा के पास ले गए, और गढ़ में बन्द किया, कि उसका बोल इस्राएल के पहाड़ी देश में फिर सुनाई न दे।

9. And they put him in prison and in chaines, and brought him to the King of Babel, and they put him in holdes, that his voyce should no more be heard vpon the mountaines of Israel.

10. तेरी माता जिस से तू अत्पन्न हुआ, वह तीर पर लगी हुई दाखलता के समान थी, और गहिरे जल के कारण फलों और शाखाओं से भरी हुई थी।

10. Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she brought foorth fruite and branches by the abundant waters,

11. और प्रभुता करनेवालों के राजदणडों के लिये उस में मोटी मोटी टहनियां थीं; और उसकी ऊंचाइ्रर् इतनी इई कि वह बादलों के बीच तक पहुंची; और अपनी बहुत सी डालियों समेत बहुत ही लम्बी दिखाई पड़ी।

11. And she had strong rods for the scepters of them that beare rule, and her stature was exalted among the branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.

12. तौभी वह जलजलाहट के साथ उखाड़कर भूमि पर गिराई गई, और उसके फल पुरवाई हवा के लगने से सूख गए; और उसकी मोटी टहनियां टूटकर सूख गई; और वे आग से भस्म हो गई।

12. But she was plucked vp in wrath: she was cast downe to the ground, and the East winde dried vp her fruite: her branches were broken, and withered: as for the rod of her strength, the fire consumed it.

13. अब वह जंगल में, वरन निर्जल देश में लगाई गई है।

13. And now she is planted in the wildernes in a drie and thirstie ground.

14. और उसकी शाखाओं की टहनियों में से आग निकली, जिस से उसके फल भस्म हो गए, और प्रभुता करने के योग्य राजदण्ड के लिये उस में अब कोई मोटी टहनी न रही। यही विलापगीत है, और यह विलापगीत बना रहेगा।

14. And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath deuoured her fruite, so that she hath no strong rod to be a scepter to rule: this is a lamentation and shalbe for a lamentation.
