1. फिर यहोवा का यह वचन मेरे पास पहुंचा,

1. The worde of the Lord came vnto me againe, saying,

2. तुम लोग जो इस्राएल के देश के विषय में यह कहावत कहते हो, कि जंगली अंगूर तो पुरखा लोग खाते, परन्तु दांत खट्टे होते हैं लड़केबालों के। इसका क्या अर्थ है?

2. What meane ye that ye speake this prouerbe, concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers haue eaten sowre grapes, and the childrens teeth are set on edge?

3. प्रभु यहोवा यों कहता है कि मेरे जीवन की शपथ, तुम को इस्राएल में फिर यह कहावत कहने का अवसर न मिलेगा।

3. As I liue, sayth the Lord God, ye shall vse this prouerbe no more in Israel.

4. देखो, सभों के प्राण तो मेरे हैं; जैसा पिता का प्राण, वैसा ही पुत्रा का भी प्राण है; दोनों मेरे ही हैं। इसलिये जो प्राणी पाप करे वही मर जाएगा।

4. Beholde, all soules are mine, both the soule of the father, and also the soule of the sonne are mine: the soule that sinneth, it shall die.

5. जो कोई धम हो, और न्याय और धर्म के काम करे,

5. But if a man be iust, and doe that which is lawfull, and right,

6. और न तो पहाड़ों पर भोजन किया हो, न इस्राएल के घराने की मूरतों की ओर आंखें उठाई हों; न पराई स्त्री को बिगाड़ा हो, और न ऋतुमती के पास गया हो,

6. And hath not eaten vpon the mountaines, neither hath lift vp his eyes to the idoles of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbours wife, neither hath lyen with a menstruous woman,

7. और न किसी पर अन्धेर किया हो वरन ऋणी को उसकी बन्धक फेर दी हो, न किसी को लूटा हो, वरन भूखे को अपनी रोटी दी हो और नंगे को कपड़ा ओढ़ाया हो,

7. Neither hath oppressed any, but hath restored the pledge to his dettour: he that hath spoyled none by violence, but hath giuen his bread to the hungry, and hath couered the naked with a garment,

8. न ब्याज पर रूपया दिया हो, न रूपए की बढ़ती ली हो, और अपना हाथ कुटिल काम से रोका हो, मनुष्य के बीच सच्चाई से न्याय किया हो,

8. And hath not giuen foorth vpon vsurie, neither hath taken any increase, but hath withdrawen his hand from iniquitie, and hath executed true iudgement betweene man and man,

9. और मेरी विधियों पर चलता और मेरे नियमों को मानता हुआ सच्चाई से काम किया हो, ऐसा मनुष्य धम है, वह निश्चय जीवित रहेगा, प्रभु यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

9. And hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my iudgements to deale truely, he is iust, he shall surely liue, sayth the Lord God.

10. परन्तु यदि उसका पुत्रा डाकू, हत्यारा, वा ऊपर कहे हुए पापों में से किसी का करनेवाला हो,

10. If he beget a sonne, that is a thiefe, or a sheader of blood, if he do any one of these things,

11. और ऊपर कहे हुए उचित कामों का करनेवाला न हो, और पहाड़ों पर भोजन किया हो, पराई स्त्री को बिगाड़ा हो,

11. Though he doe not all these things, but either hath eaten vpon the mountaines, or defiled his neighbours wife,

12. दीन दरिद्र पर अन्धेर किया हो, औरों को लूटा हो, बन्धक न फेर दी हो, मूरतों की ओर आंख उठाई हो, घृणित काम किया हो,

12. Or hath oppressed the poore and needy, or hath spoyled by violence, or hath not restored the pledge, or hath lift vp his eyes vnto the idoles, or hath committed abomination,

13. ब्याज पर रूपया दिया हो, और बढ़ती ली हो, तो क्या वह जीवित रहेगा? वह जीवित न रहेगा; इसलिये कि उस ने ये सब घिनौने काम किए हैं वह निश्चय मरेगा और उसका खून उसी के सिर पड़ेगा।

13. Or hath giuen forth vpon vsurie, or hath taken increase, shall he liue? he shall not liue: seeing he hath done all these abominations, he shall die the death, and his blood shall be vpon him.

14. फिर यदि ऐसे मनुष्य के पुत्रा हों और वह अपने पिता के ये सब पाप देखकर भय के मारे उनके समान न करता हो।

14. But if he beget a sonne, that seeth all his fathers sinnes, which he hath done, and feareth, neither doeth such like,

15. अर्थात् न तो पहाड़ों पर भोजन किया हो, न इस्राएल के घराने की मूरतों की ओर आंख उठाई हो, न पराई स्त्री को बिगाड़ा हो,

15. That hath not eaten vpon the mountaines, neither hath lift vp his eyes to the idols of ye house of Israel, nor hath defiled his neighbours wife,

16. न किसी पर अन्धेर किया हो, न कुछ बन्धक लिया हो, न किसी को लूटा हो, वरन अपनी रोटी भूखे को दी हो, नंगे को कपड़ा ओढ़ाया हो,

16. Neither hath oppressed any, nor hath withholden the pledge, neither hath spoyled by violence, but hath giuen his bread to the hungry, and hath couered the naked with a garment,

17. दीन जन की हानि करने से हाथ रोका हो, ब्याज और बढ़ी न ली हो, मेरे नियमों को माना हो, और मेरी विधियों पर चला हो, तो वह अपने पिता के अधर्म के कारण न मरेगा, वरन जीवित ही रहेगा।

17. Neither hath withdrawen his hand from the afflicted, nor receiued vsurie nor increase, but hath executed my iudgements, and hath walked in my statutes, he shall not die in the iniquitie of his father, but he shall surely liue.

18. उसका पिता, जिस ने अन्धेर किया और लूटा, और अपने भाइयों के बीच अनुचित काम किया है, वही अपने अधर्म के कारण मर जाएगा।

18. His father, because he cruelly oppressed and spoyled his brother by violence, and hath not done good among his people, loe, euen he dyeth in his iniquitie.

19. तौभी तुम लोग कहते हो, क्यों? क्या पुत्रा पिता के अधर्म का भार नहीं उठाता? जब पुत्रा ने न्याय और धर्म के काम किए हों, और मेरी सब विधियों का पालनकर उन पर चला हो, तो वह जीवित ही रहेगा।

19. Yet say ye, Wherefore shall not the sonne beare the iniquitie of the father? because ye sonne hath executed iudgement and iustice, and hath kept all my statutes, and done them, he shall surely liue,

20. जो प्राणी पाप करे वही मरेगा, न तो पुत्रा पिता के अधर्म का भार उठाएगा और न पिता पुत्रा का; धम को अपने ही धर्म का फल, और दुष्ट को अपनी ही दुष्टता का फल मिलेगा।

20. The same soule that sinneth, shall die: the sonne shall not beare the iniquitie of the father, neither shall the father beare the iniquitie of the sonne, but the righteousnes of the righteous shall be vpon him, and the wickednesse of the wicked shall be vpon him selfe.

21. परन्तु यदि दुष्ट जन अपने सब पापों से फिरकर, मेरी सब विधियों का पालन करे और न्याय और धर्म के काम करे, तो वह न मरेगा; वरन जीवित ही रहेगा।

21. But if the wicked will returne from all his sinnes that he hath committed, and keepe all my statutes, and doe that which is lawfull and right, he shall surely liue, and shall not die.

22. उस ने जितने अपराध किए हों, उन में से किसी का स्मरण उसके विरूद्ध न किया जाएगा; जो धर्म का काम उस ने किया हो, उसके कारण वह जीवित रहेगा।

22. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned vnto him, but in his righteousnes that he hath done, he shall liue.

23. प्रभु यहोवा की यह वाणी है, क्या मैं दुष्ट के मरने से कुछ भी प्रसन्न होता हूँ? क्या मैं इस से प्रसन्न नहीं होता कि वह अपने मार्ग से फिरकर जीवित रहे?
1 तीमुथियुस 2:4

23. Haue I any desire that the wicked should die, sayth the Lord God? or shall he not liue, if he returne from his wayes?

24. परन्तु जब धम अपने धर्म से फिरकर टेढ़े काम, वरन दुष्ट के सब घृणित कामों के अनुसार करने लगे, तो क्या वह जीवित रहेगा? जितने धर्म के काम उस ने किए हों, उन में से किसी का स्मरण न किया जाएगा। जो विश्वासघात और पाप उस ने किया हो, उसके कारण वह मर जाएगा।

24. But if the righteous turne away from his righteousnes, and commit iniquitie, and doe according to all the abominations, that the wicked man doeth, shall he liue? all his righteousnes that he hath done, shall not be mentioned: but in his transgression that he hath committed, and in his sinne that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

25. तौभी तुम लोग कहते हो, कि प्रभु की गति एकसी नहीं। हे इस्राएल के घराने, देख, क्या मेरी गति एकसी नहीं? क्या तुम्हारी ही गति अनुचित नहीं है?

25. Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equall: heare now, O house of Israel. Is not my way equall? or are not your wayes vnequall?

26. जब धम अपने धर्म से फिरकर, टेढ़े काम करने लगे, तो वह उनके कारण मरेगा, अर्थात् वह अपने टेढ़े काम ही के कारण मर जाएगा।

26. For when a righteous man turneth away from his righteousnes, and committeth iniquitie, he shall euen die for the same, he shall euen die for his iniquitie, that he hath done.

27. फिर जब दुष्ट अपने दुष्ट कामों से फिरकर, न्याय और धर्म के काम करने लगे, तो वह अपना प्राण बचाएगा।

27. Againe when the wicked turneth away from his wickednes that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawfull and right, he shall saue his soule aliue.

28. वह जो सोच विचार कर अपने सब अपराधों से फिरा, इस कारण न मरेगा, जीवित ही रहेगा।

28. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that hee hath committed, he shall surely liue and shall not die.

29. तौभी इस्राएल का घराना कहता है कि प्रभु की गति एकसी नहीं। हे इस्राएल के घराने, क्या मेरी गति एकसी नहीं? क्या तुम्हारी ही गति अनुचित नहीं?

29. Yet saith ye house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equall. O house of Israel, are not my wayes equall? or are not your wayes vnequall?

30. प्रभु यहोवा की यह वाणी है, हे इस्राएल के घराने, मैं तुम में से हर एक मनुष्य का न्याय उसकी चालचलन के अनुसार ही करूंगा। पश्चात्ताप करो और अपने सब अपराधों को छोड़ो, तभी तुम्हारा अधर्म तुम्हारे ठोकर खाने का कारण न होगा।

30. Therefore I will iudge you, O house of Israel, euery one according to his wayes, sayth the Lord God: returne therefore and cause others to turne away from all your transgressions: so iniquitie shall not be your destruction.

31. अपने सब अपराधों को जो तुम ने किए हैं, दूर करो; अपना मन और अपनी आत्मा बदल डालो ! हे इस्राएल के घराने, तुम क्यों मरो?

31. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye haue transgressed, and make you a newe heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

32. क्योंकि, प्रभु यहोवा की यह वाणी है, जो मरे, उसके मरने से मैं प्रसन्न नहीं होता, इसलिये पश्चात्ताप करो, तभी तुम जीवित रहोगे।

32. For I desire not the death of him that dyeth, sayth the Lord God: cause therefore one another to returne, and liue ye.
