1. यहोवा का यह वचन मेरे पास पहुंचा,

1. And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

2. हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, इस्राएल के जो भविष्यद्वक्ता अपने ही मन से भविष्यवाणी करते हैं, उनके विरूद्व भविष्यवाणी करके तू कह, यहोवा का वचन सुनो।

2. 'Son of man, prophesy concerning the prophets of Israel who are prophesying, and thou hast said to those prophesying from their own heart: Hear ye a word of Jehovah:

3. प्रभु यहोवा यों कहता है, हाय, उन मूढ़ भविष्यद्वक्ताओं पर जो अपनी ही आत्मा के पीछे भटक जाते हैं, और कुछ दर्शन नहीं पाया !

3. Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the prophets who are foolish, Who are going after their own spirit, And they have seen nothing.

4. हे इस्राएल, तेरे भविष्यद्वक्ता खण्डहरों में की लोमड़ियों के समान बने हैं।

4. As foxes in the wastes, Thy prophets, O Israel, have been.

5. तुम ने नाकों में चढ़कर इस्राएल के घराने के लिये भीत नहीं सुधारी, जिस से वे यहोवा के दिन युठ्ठ में स्थिर रह सकते।

5. Ye have not gone up into breaches, Nor do ye make a fence for the house of Israel, To stand in battle in a day of Jehovah.

6. वे लोग जो कहते हैं, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, उन्हों ने भावी का व्यर्थ और झूठा दावा किया है; और तब भी यह आशा दिलाई कि यहोवा यह वचन पूरा करेगा; तौभी यहोवा ने उन्हें नहीं भेजा।

6. They have seen vanity, and lying divination, Who are saying: An affirmation of Jehovah, And Jehovah hath not sent them, And they have hoped to establish a word.

7. क्या तुम्हारा दर्शन झूठा नहीं है, और क्या तुम झूठमूठ भावी नहीं कहते? तुम कहते हो, कि यहोवा की यह वाणी है; परन्तु मैं ने कुछ नहीं कहा है।

7. A vain vision have ye not seen, And a lying divination spoken, When ye say: An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have not spoken?

8. इस कारण प्रभु यहोवा तुम से यों कहता है, तुम ने जो व्यर्थ बात कही और झूठे दर्शन देखे हैं, इसलिये मैं तुम्हारे विरूद्ध हूँ, प्रभु यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

8. Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen a lie, Therefore, lo, I [am] against you, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

9. जो भविष्यद्वक्ता झूठे दर्शन देखते और झूठमूठ भावी कहते हैं, मेरा हाथ उनके विरूद्ध होगा, और वे मेरी प्रजा की गोष्ठी में भागी न होंगे, न उनके नाम इस्राएल की नामावली में लिखे जाएंगे, और न वे इस्राएल के देश में प्रवेश करने पाएंगे; इस से तुम लोग जान लोगे कि मैं प्रभु यहोवा हूँ।

9. And My hand hath been on the prophets, Who are seeing vanity, and who are divining a lie, In the assembly of My people they are not, And in the writing of the house of Israel they are not written, And unto the ground of Israel they come not, And ye have known that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.

10. क्योंकि हां, क्योंकि उन्हों ने 'शान्ति है', ऐसा कहकर मेरी प्रजा को बहकाया हे जब कि शान्ति नहीं है; और इसलिये कि जब कोई भीत बनाता है तब वे उसकी कच्ची लेसाई करते हैं।

10. Because, even because, they did cause My people to err, Saying, Peace! and there is no peace, And that one is building a wall, And lo, they are daubing it with chalk.

11. उन कच्ची लेसाई करनेवालों से कह कि वह गिर जाएगी। क्योंकि बड़े जोर की वर्षा होगी, और बड़े बड़े ओले भी गिरेंगे, और प्रचण्ड आंधी उसे गिराएगी।

11. Say to those daubing with chalk -- It falleth, There hath been an overflowing shower, And ye, O hailstones, do fall, And a tempestuous wind doth rend,

12. सो जब भीत गिर जाएगी, तब क्या लोग तुम से यह न कहेंगे कि जो लेसाई तुम ने की वह कहां रही?

12. And lo, fallen hath the wall! Doth not one say unto you, Where [is] the daubing that ye daubed?

13. इस कारण प्रभु यहोवा तुम से यों कहता है, मैं जलकर उसको पचण्ड आंधी के द्वारा गिराऊंगा; और मेरे कोप से भारी वर्षा होगी, और मेरी जलजलाहट से बड़े बड़े ओले गिरेंगे कि भीत को नाश करें।

13. Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I have rent with a tempestuous wind in My fury, And an overflowing shower is in Mine anger, And hailstones in My fury -- to consume.

14. इस रीति जिस भीत पर तुम ने कच्ची लेसाई की है, उसे मैं ढा दूंगा, वरन मिट्टी में मिलाऊंगा, और उसकी नेव खुल जाएगी; और जब वह गिरेगी, तब तुम भी उसके नीचे दबकर नाश होगे; और तुम जान लोगे कि मैं यहोवा हूँ।

14. And I have broken down the wall that ye daubed with chalk, And have caused it to come unto the earth, And revealed hath been its foundation, And it hath fallen, And ye have been consumed in its midst, And ye have known that I [am] Jehovah.

15. इस रीति मैं भीत और उसकी कच्ची लेसाई करनेवाले दोनों पर अपनी जलजलाहट पूर्ण रीति से भड़काऊंगा; फिर तुम से कहूंगा, न तो भीत रही,और न उसके लेसनेवाले रहे,

15. And I have completed My wrath on the wall, And on those daubing it with chalk, And I say to you: The wall is not, And those daubing it are not;

16. अर्थात् इस्राएल के वे भविष्यद्वक्ता जो यरूशलेम के विषय में भविष्यद्वाणी करते और उनकी शान्ति का दर्शन बताते थे, परन्तु प्रभु यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि शान्ति है ही नहीं।

16. The prophets of Israel who are prophesying concerning Jerusalem, And who are seeing for her a vision of peace, And there is no peace, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

17. फिर हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, तू अपने लोगों की स्त्रियों से विमुख होकर, जो अपनेे ही मन से भविष्यद्वाणी करती हे; उनके विरूद्ध भविष्यद्वाणी करके कह,

17. And thou, son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who are prophesying out of their own heart, and prophesy concerning them,

18. प्रभु यहोवा यों कहता है, जो स्त्रियां हाथ के सब जोड़ो के लिये तकिया सीतीं और प्राणियों का अहेर करने को सब प्रकार के मनुष्यों की आंख ढांपने के लिये कपड़े बनाती हैं, उन पर हाय ! क्या तुम मेरी प्रजा के प्राणों का अहेर करके अपने निज प्राण बचा रखोगी?

18. And thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Woe to those sowing pillows for all joints of the arm, And to those making the kerchiefs For the head of every stature -- to hunt souls, The souls do ye hunt of My people? And the souls ye have do ye keep alive?

19. तुम ने तो मुुट्ठी मुट्ठी भर जव और रोटी के टुकड़ों के बदले मुझे मेरी प्रजा की दृष्टि में अपवित्रा ठहराकर, और अपनी उन झूठी बातों के द्वारा, जो मेरी प्रजा के लोग तुम से सुनते हैं, जो नाश के योग्य न थे, उनको मार डाला; और जो बचने के योग्य न थे उन प्राणों को बचा रखा है।

19. Yea, ye pierce Me concerning My people, For handfuls of barley, And for pieces of bread, to put to death Souls that should not die, And to keep alive souls that should not live, By your lying to My people -- hearkening to lies.

20. इस कारण प्रभु यहोवा तुम से यों कहता है, देखो, मैं तुम्हारे उन तकियों के विरूद्व हूं, जिनके द्वारा तुम प्राणों का अहेर करती हो, इसलिये जिन्हें तुम अहेर कर करके उड़ाती हो उनको मैं तुम्हारी बांह पर से छीनकर उनको छुड़ा दूंगा।

20. Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I [am] against your pillows, With which ye are hunting there the souls of the flourishing, And I have rent them from off your arms, And have sent away the souls that ye are hunting, The souls of the flourishing.

21. मैं तुम्हारे सिर के बुक को फाड़कर अपनी प्रजा के लोगों को नुम्हारे हाथ से छुड़ाऊंगा, और आगे को वे तुम्हारे वश में न रहेंगे कि तुम उनका अहेर कर सको; तब तुम जान लोगी कि मैं यहोवा हूँ।

21. And I have torn your kerchiefs, And delivered My people out of your hand, And they are no more in your hand for a prey, And ye have known that I [am] Jehovah.

22. तुम ने जो झूठ कहकर धम के मन को उदास किया है, यद्यपि मैं ने उसको उदास करना नहीं चाहा, और तुम ने दुष्ट जन को हियाव बन्धाया है, ताकि वह अपने बुरे मार्ग से न फिरे और जीवित रहे।

22. Because of paining the heart of the righteous with falsehood, And I have not pained it, And strengthening the hands of the wicked, So as not to turn back from his evil way, To keep him alive,

23. इस कारण तुम फिर न तो झूठा दर्शन देखोगी, और न भावी कहोगी; क्योंकि मैं अपनी प्रजा को तुम्हारे हाथ से दुड़ाऊंगा। तब तुम जान लोगी कि मैं यहोवा हूँ।

23. Therefore, vanity ye do not see, And divination ye do not divine again, And I have delivered My people out of your hand, And ye have known that I [am] Jehovah!'
