1. यहोवा यों कहता है, मैं बाबुल के और लेबकामै के रहनेवालों के विरूद्व एक नाश करनेवाली वायु चलाऊंगा;

1. Thus says the LORD: Behold, I will raise up against Bavel, and against those who dwell in Lev-Kamai, a destroying wind.

2. और मैं बाबुल के पास ऐसे लोगों को भेजूंगा जो उसको फटक- फटककर उड़ा देंगे, और इस रीति उसके देश को सुनसान करेंगे; और विपत्ति के दिन चारों ओर से उसके विरूद्व होंगे।

2. I will send to Bavel strangers, who shall winnow her; and they shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.

3. धनुर्धारी के विरूद्व और जो अपना झिलम पहिने हैं धनुर्धारी धनुष चढ़ाए हुए उठे; उसके जवानों से कुछ कोमलता न करना; उसकी सारी सेना को सत्यानाश करो।

3. Against him who bends let the archer bend his bow, and against him who lifts himself up in his coat of mail: and don't you spare her young men; destroy you utterly all her host.

4. कसदियों के देश में मरे हुए और उसकी सड़कों में छिदे हुए लोग गिरेंगे।

4. They shall fall down slain in the land of the Kasdim, and thrust through in her streets.

5. क्योंकि, यद्यपि इस्राएल और यहूदा के देश, इस्राएल के पवित्रा के विरूद्व किए हुए पापों से भरपूर हो गए हैं, तौभी उनके परमेश्वर, सेनाओं के यहोवा ने उनको त्याग नहीं दिया।

5. For Yisra'el is not forsaken, nor Yehudah, of his God, of the LORD of Hosts; though their land is full of guilt against the Holy One of Yisra'el.

6. बाबुल में से भागो, अपना अपना प्राण बचाओ ! उसके अधर्म में भागी होकर तुम भी न मिट जाओ; क्योंकि यह यहोवा के बदला लेने का समय है, वह उसको बदला देने पर है।

6. Flee out of the midst of Bavel, and save every man his life; don't be cut off in her iniquity: for it is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render to her a recompense.

7. बाबुल यहोवा के हाथ में सोने का कटोरा था, जिस से सारी पृथ्वी के लोग मतवाले होते थे; जाति जाति के लोगों ने उसके दाखमधु में से पिया, इस कारण वे भी बावले हो गए।

7. Bavel has been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, who made all the eretz drunken: the nations have drunk of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.

8. बाबुल अचानक ले ली गई और नाश की गई है। उसके लिये हाय- हाय करो ! उसके घावों के लिये बलसान औषधि लाओ; सम्भव है वह चंगी हो सके।

8. Bavel is suddenly fallen and destroyed: wail for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.

9. हम बाबुल का इलाज करते तो थे, परन्तु वह चंगी नहीं हुई। सो आओ, हम उसको तजकर उपने अपने देश को चले जाएं; क्योंकि उस पर किए हुए न्याय का निर्णय आकाश वरन स्वर्ग तक भी पहुंच गया है।

9. We would have healed Bavel, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go everyone into his own country; for her judgment reaches to heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.

10. यहोवा ने हमारे धर्म के काम प्रगट किए हैं; सो आओ, हम सिरयोन में अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के काम का वर्णन करें।

10. The LORD has brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Tziyon the work of the LORD our God.

11. तीरों को पैना करो ! ढालें थामे रहो ! क्योंकि यहोवा ने मादी राजाओं के मन को उभारा है, उस ने बाबुल को नाश करने की कल्पना की है, क्योंकि यहोवा अर्थात् उसके मन्दिर का यही बदला है

11. Make sharp the arrows; hold firm the shields: the LORD has stirred up the spirit of the kings of the Madai; because his purpose is against Bavel, to destroy it: for it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.

12. बाबुल की शहरपनाह के विरूद्व झण्डा खड़ा करो; बहुत पहरूए बैठाओ; घात लगानेवालों को बैठाओ; क्योंकि यहोवा ने बाबुल के रहनेवालों के विरूद्व जो कुछ कहा था, वह अब करने पर है वरन किया भी है।

12. Set up a standard against the walls of Bavel, make the watch strong, set the watchmen, prepare the ambushes; for the LORD has both purposed and done that which he spoke concerning the inhabitants of Bavel.

13. हे बहुत जलाशयों के बीच बसी हुई और बहुत भण्डार रखनेवाली, तेरा अन्त आ गया, तेरे लोभ की सीमा पहंच गई है।

13. You who dwell on many waters, abundant in treasures, your end is come, the measure of your covetousness.

14. सेनाओं के यहोवा ने अपनी ही शपथ खाई है, कि निश्चय मैं तुझ को टिडि्डयों के समान अनगिनित मनुष्यों से भर दूंगा, और वे तेरे विरूद्व ललकारेंगे।

14. The LORD of Hosts has sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill you with men, as with the canker-worm; and they shall lift up a shout against you.

15. उसी ने पृथ्वी को अपने सामर्थ से बनाया, और जगत को अपनी बुद्वि से स्थिर किया; और आकाश को अपनी प्रवीणता से तान दिया है।

15. He has made the eretz by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens:

16. जब वह बोलता है तब आकाश में जल का बड़ा शब्द होता है, वह पृथ्वी की छोर से कुहरा उठाता है। वह वर्षा के लिये बिजली बनाता, और अपने भण्डार में से पवन निकाल ले आता है।

16. when he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the eretz; he makes lightnings for the rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasuries.

17. सब मनुष्य पशु सरीखे ज्ञानरहित है; सब सोनारों को अपनी खोदी हुई मूरतों के कारण लज्जित होना पड़ेगा; क्योंकि उनकी ढाली हुई मूरतें धोखा देनेवाली हैं, और उनके कुछ भी सांस नहीं चलती।

17. Every man is become brutish and is without knowledge; every goldsmith is disappointed by his image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

18. वे तो व्यर्थ और ठट्ठे ही के योग्य है; जब उनके नाश किए जाने का समय आएगा, तब वे नाश ही होंगी।

18. They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

19. परन्तु जो याकूब का निज भाग है, वह उनके समान नहीं, वह तो सब का बनानेवाला है, और इस्राएल उसका निज भाग है; उसका नाम सेनाओं का यहोवा है।

19. The portion of Ya`akov is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Yisra'el is the tribe of his inheritance: the LORD of Hosts is his name.

20. तू मेरा फरसा और युद्व के लिये हथियार ठहराया गया है; तेरे द्वारा मैं जाति जाति को तितर- बितर करूंगा; और तेरे ही द्वारा राज्य राज्य को नाश करूंगा।

20. You are my battle-axe and weapons of war: and with you will I break in pieces the nations; and with you will I destroy kingdoms;

21. तेरे ही द्वारा मैं सवार समेत घोड़ों को टुकड़े टुकड़े करूंगा;

21. and with you will I break in pieces the horse and his rider;

22. तेरे ही द्वारा रथी समेत रथ को भी टुकड़े टुकड़े करूंगा; तेरे ही द्वारा मैं स्त्री पुरूष दोनों को टुकड़े टुकड़े करूंगा; तेरे ही द्वारा मैं बूढ़े और लड़के दोनों को टुकढ़े टुकडे करूंगा, और जवान पुरूष और जवन स्त्री दोनों को मैं तेरे ही द्वारा टुकड़े टुकड़े करूंगा;

22. and with you will I break in pieces the chariot and him who rides therein; and with you will I break in pieces man and woman; and with you will I break in pieces the old man and the youth; and with you will I break in pieces the young man and the virgin;

23. तेरे ही द्वारा मैं भेड़- बकरियों समेत चरवाहे को टुकड़े टुकड़े करूंगा; तेरे ही द्वारा मैं किसान और उसके जोड़े बैलों को भी टुकड़े टुकड़े करूंगा; अधिपतियों ओर हाकिमों को भी मैं तेरे ही द्वारा टुकड़े टुकड़े करूंगा।

23. and with you will I break in pieces the shepherd and his flock; and with you will I break in pieces the farmer and his yoke of oxen; and with you will I break in pieces governors and deputies.

24. मैं बाबुल को और सारे कसदियों को भी उन सब बुराइयों का बदला दूंगा, जो उन्हों ने तुम लोगों के साम्हने सिरयोन में की है; यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

24. I will render to Bavel and to all the inhabitants of Kasdim all their evil that they have done in Tziyon in your sight, says the LORD.

25. हे नाश करनेवाले पहाड़ जिसके द्वारा सारी पृथ्वी नाश हुई है, यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि मैं तेरे विरूद्व हूँ और हाथ बढ़ाकर तुझे ढांगों पर से लुढ़का दूंगा और जला हुआ पहाड़ बनाऊंगा।

25. Behold, I am against you, destroying mountain, says the LORD, which destroy all the eretz; and I will stretch out my hand on you, and roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burnt mountain.

26. लोग तुझ से न तो घर के कोने के लिये पत्थर लेंगे, और न नेव के लिये, क्योंकि तू सदा उजाड़ रहेगा, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

26. They shall not take of you a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but you shall be desolate for ever, says the LORD.

27. देश में झण्डा खड़ा करो, जाति जाति में नरसिंगा फूंको; उसके विरूद्व जाति जाति को तैयार करो; अरारात, मिन्नी और अश्कनज नाम राज्यों को उसके विरूद्व बुललाओ, उसके विरूद्व सेनापति भी ठहराओ; घोड़ों को शिखरवाली टिडि्डयों के समान अनगिनित चढ़ा ले आओ।

27. Set up a standard in the land, blow the shofar among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz: appoint a marshal against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough canker-worm.

28. उसके विरूद्व जातियों को तैयार करो; मादी राजाओं को उनके अधिपतियों सब हाकिमों सहित और उस राज्य के सारे देश को तैयार करो।

28. Prepare against her the nations, the kings of the Madai, the governors of it, and all the deputies of it, and all the land of their dominion.

29. यहोवा ने विचारा है कि वह बाबुल के देश को ऐसा उजाड़ करे कि उस में कोई भी न रहे; इसलिये पृथ्वी कांपती है और दु:खित होती है

29. The land trembles and is in pain; for the purposes of the LORD against Bavel do stand, to make the land of Bavel a desolation, without inhabitant.

30. बाबुल के शूरवीर गढ़ों में रहकर लड़ने से इनकार करते हैं, उनकी वीरता जाती रही है; और यह देखकर कि उनके वासस्थानों में आग लग गई वे स्त्री बन गए हैं; उसके फाटकों के बेण्डे तोड़े गए हैं।

30. The mighty men of Bavel have forborne to fight, they remain in their strongholds; their might has failed; they are become as women: her dwelling-places are set on fire; her bars are broken.

31. एक हरकारा दूसरे हरकारे से और एक समाचार देनेवाला दूसरे समाचार देनेवाले से मिलने और बाबुल के राजा को यह समाचार देने के लिये दौड़ेगा कि तेरा नगर चारों ओर से ले लिया गया है;

31. One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to met another, to show the king of Bavel that his city is taken on every quarter:

32. और घाट शत्रुओं के वश में हो गए हैं, ताल भी सुखाये गए, ओर योद्वा घबरा उठे हैं।

32. and the passages are seized, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are frightened.

33. क्योंकि इस्राएल का परमेश्वर, सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता हैे बाबुल की बेटी दांवते समय के खलिहान के समान है, थोड़े ही दिनों में उसकी कटनी का समय आएगा।

33. For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Yisra'el: The daughter of Bavel is like a threshing floor at the time when it is trodden; yet a little while, and the time of harvest shall come for her.

34. बाबुल के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर ने मुझ को खा लिया, मुझ को पीस डाला; उस ने मुझे छूछे बर्तन के समान कर दिया, उस ने मगरमच्छ की नाई मुझ को निगल लिया है; और मुझ को स्वादिष्ट भेजन जानकर अपना पेट मुझ से भर लिया है, उस ने मुझ को बरबस निकाल दिया हे।

34. Nevukhadretztzar the king of Bavel has devoured me, he has crushed me, he has made me an empty vessel, he has, like a monster, swallowed me up, he has filled his maw with my delicacies; he has cast me out.

35. सिरयोन की रहनेवाली कहेगी, कि जो उपद्रव मुझ पर और मेरे शरीर पर हुआ है, वह बाबुल पर पलट जाए। और यरूशलेम कहेगी कि मुझ में की हुई हत्याओं का दोष कसदियों के देश के रहनेवालों पर लगे।

35. The violence done to me and to my flesh be on Bavel, shall the inhabitant of Tziyon say; and, My blood be on the inhabitants of Kasdim, shall Yerushalayim say.

36. इसलिये यहोवा कहता है, मैं तेरा कुक़ मा लड़ूंगा और तेरा बदला लूंगा। मैं उसके ताल को और उसके सोतों को सुखा दूंगा;

36. Therefore thus says the LORD: Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you; and I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.

37. और बाबुल खण्डहर, और गीदड़ों का वासस्थान होगा; और लोग उसे देखकर चकित होंगे और ताली बजाएंगे, और उस में कोई न रहेगा।

37. Bavel shall become heaps, a dwelling-place for jackals, an astonishment, and a hissing, without inhabitant.

38. लोग एक संग ऐसे गरजेंगे और गुर्राएंगे, जैसे युवा सिंह व सिंह के बच्चे आहेर पर करते हैं।

38. They shall roar together like young lions; they shall growl as lions' cubs.

39. परन्तु जब जब वे उत्तेजित हों, तब मैं जेवनार तैयार करके उन्हें ऐसा मतवाला करूंगा, कि वे हुलसकर सदा की नींद में पड़ेंगे और कभी न जागेंगे, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

39. When they are heated, I will make their feast, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, says the LORD.

40. मैं उनको, भेड़ों के बच्चों, और मेढ़ों और बकरों की नाई घात करा दूंगा।

40. I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with male goats.

41. शेशक, जिसकी प्रशंसा सारे पृथ्वी पर होती थी कैसे ले लिया गया? वह कैसे पकड़ा गया? बाबुल जातियों के बीच कैसे सुनसान हो गया है?

41. How is Sheshakh taken! and the praise of the whole eretz seized! how is Bavel become a desolation among the nations!

42. बाबुल के ऊपर समुद्र चढ़ आया है, वह उसकी बहुत सी लहरों में डूब गया है।

42. The sea is come up on Bavel; she is covered with the multitude of the waves of it.

43. उसके नगर उजड़ गए, उसका देश निर्जन और निर्जल हो गया है, उस में कोई मनुष्य नहीं रहता, और उस से होकर कोई आदमी नहीं चलता।

43. Her cities are become a desolation, a dry land, and a desert, a land in which no man dwells, neither does any son of man pass thereby.

44. मैं बाबुल में बेल को दण्ड दूंगा, और उस ने जो कुछ निगल लिया है, वह उसके मुंह से उगलवाऊंगा। जातियों के लोग फिर उसकी ओर तांता बान्धे हुए न चलेंगे; बाबुल की शहरपनाह गिराई जाएगी।

44. I will execute judgment on Bel in Bavel, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he has swallowed up; and the nations shall not flow any more to him: yes, the wall of Bavel shall fall.

45. हे मेरी प्रजा, उस में से निकल आओ ! अपने अपने प्राण को यहोवा के भड़के हुए कोप से बचाओ !

45. My people, go you out of the midst of her, and save yourselves every man from the fierce anger of the LORD.

46. जब उड़ती हुई बात उस देश में सुनी जाए, तब तुम्हारा मन न धबराए; और जो उड़ती हुई चर्चा पृथ्वी पर सुनी जाएगी तुम उस से न डरनो उसके एक वर्ष बाद एक और बात उड़ती हुई आएगी, तब उसके बाद दूसरे वर्ष में एक और बात उड़ती हुई आएगी, और उस देश में उपद्रव होगा, और एक हाकिम दूसरे के विरूद्व होगा।

46. Don't let your heart faint, neither fear for the news that shall be heard in the land; for news shall come one year, and after that in another year shall come news, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.

47. इसलिये देख, वे दिन आते हैं जब मैं बाबुल की खुदी हुई मूरतों पर दण्ड की आज्ञा करूंगा; उस सारे देश के लोगों का मुंह काला हो जाएगा, और उसके सब मारे हुए लोग उसी में पड़े रहेंगे।

47. Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will execute judgment on the engraved images of Bavel; and her whole land shall be confounded; and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.

48. तब स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी के सारे निवासी बाबुल पर जयजयकार करेंगे; क्योंकि उत्तर दिशा से नाश करनेवाले उस पर चढ़ाई करेंगे, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

48. Then the heavens and the eretz, and all that is therein, shall sing for joy over Bavel; for the destroyers shall come to her from the north, says the LORD.

49. जैसे बाबुल ने इस्राएल के लोगों को मारा, वैसे ही सारे देश के लोग उसी में मार डाले जाएंगे।

49. As Bavel has caused the slain of Yisra'el to fall, so at Bavel shall fall the slain of all the land.

50. हे तलवार से बचे हुओ, भगो, खड़े मत रहो ! यहोवा को दूर से स्मरण करो, और यरूशलेम की भी सुधि लोे

50. You who have escaped the sword, go you, don't stand still; remember the LORD from afar, and let Yerushalayim come into your mind.

51. हम व्याकुल हैं, क्योंकि हम ने अपनी नामधराई सुनी है; यहोवा के पवित्रा भवन में विधम घुस आए हैं, इस कारण हम लज्जित हैं।

51. We are confounded, because we have heard reproach; confusion has covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD's house.

52. सो देखो, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, ऐसे दिन आनेवाले हैं कि मैं उसकी खुदी हुई मूरतों पर दण्ड भेजूंगा, और उसके सारे देश में लोग घायल होकर कराहते रहेंगे।

52. Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will execute judgment on her engraved images; and through all her land the wounded shall groan.

53. चाहे बाबुल ऐसा ऊंचा बन जाए कि आकाश से बातें करे और उसके ऊंचे गढ़ और भी दृढ़ किए जाएं, तौभी मैं उसे नाश करने के लिये, लोगों को भेजूंगा, यहोवा की यह बाणी है।

53. Though Bavel should mount up to the sky, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall destroyers come to her, says the LORD.

54. बाबुल से चिल्लाहट का शब्द सुनाई पड़ता है ! कसदियों के देश से सत्यानाश का बड़ा कोलाहल सुनाइ्र देता है।

54. The sound of a cry from Bavel, and of great destruction from the land of the Kasdim!

55. क्योंकि यहोवा बाबुल को नाश कर रहा है और उसके बड़े कोलाहल को बन्द कर रहा है। इस से उनका कोलाहल महासागर का सा सुनाई देता है।

55. For the LORD lays Bavel waste, and destroys out of her the great voice; and their waves roar like many waters; the noise of their voice is uttered:

56. बाबुल पर भी नाश करनेवाले चढ़ आए हैं, और उसके शूरवीर पकड़े गए हैं और उनके धनुष तोड़ डाले गए; क्योंकि यहोवा बदला देनेवाला परमेश्वर है, वह अवश्य ही बदला लेगा।

56. for the destroyer is come on her, even on Bavel, and her mighty men are taken, their bows are broken in pieces; for the LORD is a God of recompenses, he will surely requite.

57. मैं उसके हाकिमों, पण्डितों, अधिपतियों, रईसों, और शूरवीरों को ऐसा मतवाला करूंगा कि वे सदा की नींद में पडेंगे और फिर न जागेंगे, सेनाओं के यहोवा, जिसका नाम राजाधिराज है, उसकी यही वाणी है

57. I will make drunk her princes and her wise men, her governors and her deputies, and her mighty men; and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake up, says the King, whose name is the LORD of Hosts.

58. सेनाओं का यहोवा यों भी कहता है, बाबुल की चौड़ी शहरपनाह नेव से ढाई जाएगी, और उसके ऊंचे फाटक आग लगाकर जलाए जाएंगे। और उस में राज्य राज्य के लोगों का परिश्रम व्यर्थ ठहरेगा, और जातियों का परिश्रम आग का कौर हो जाएगा और वे थक जाएंगे।

58. Thus says the LORD of hosts: The broad walls of Bavel shall be utterly overthrown, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the peoples shall labor for vanity, and the nations for the fire; and they shall be weary.

59. यहूदा के राजा सिदकिरयाह के राज्य के चौथे वर्ष में जब उसके साथ सरायाह भी बाबुल को गया था, जो नेरिरयाह का पुत्रा और महसेयाह का पोता और राजभवन का अधिकारी भी था,

59. The word which Yirmeyahu the prophet commanded Serayah the son of Neriyah, the son of Mechaseyah, when he went with Tzidkiyahu the king of Yehudah to Bavel in the fourth year of his reign. Now Serayah was chief chamberlain.

60. तब यिर्मयाह भविष्यद्वक्ता ने उसको ये बातें बताई अर्थात् वे सब बातें जो बाबुल पर पड़नेवाली विपत्ति के विषय लिखी हुई हैं, उन्हें यिर्मयाह ने पुस्तक में लिख दिया।

60. Yirmeyahu wrote in a book all the evil that should come on Bavel, even all these words that are written concerning Bavel.

61. और यिर्मयाह ने सरायाह से कहा, जब तू बाबुल में पहुंचे , तब अपश्य ही ये सब वचन पड़ना,

61. Yirmeyahu said to Serayah, When you come to Bavel, then see that you read all these words,

62. और यह कहना, हे यहोवा तू ने तो इस स्थान के विषय में यह कहा है कि मैं इसे ऐसा मिटा दूंगा कि इस में क्या मनुष्य, क्या पशु, कोई भी न रहेगा, वरन यह सदा उजाड़ पड़ा रहेगा।

62. and say, LORD, you have spoken concerning this place, to cut it off, that none shall dwell therein, neither man nor animal, but that it shall be desolate forever.

63. और जब तू इस पुस्तक को पढ़ चुके, तब इसे एक पत्थर के संग बान्धकर परात महानद के बीच में फेंक देना,

63. It shall be, when you have made an end of reading this book, that you shall bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of the Perat:

64. और यह कहना, यों ही बाबुल डूब जाएगा और मैं उस पर ऐसी विपत्ति डालूंगा कि वह फिर कभी न उठेगा। यों उसका सारा परिश्रम व्यर्थ ही ठहरेगा और वे थके रहेंगे। यहां तक यिर्मयाह के वचन हैं।

64. and you shall say, Thus shall Bavel sink, and shall not rise again because of the evil that I will bring on her; and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Yirmeyahu.
