1. यहोवा का जो वचन यिर्मयाह के पास पहुंचा वह यह हैे

1. The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

2. इस्राएल का परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझ से यों कहता है, जो वचन मैं ने तुझ से कहे हैं उन सभों को पुस्तक में लिख ले।

2. Thus speaketh Jehovah the God of Israel, saying, Write thee in a book all the words that I have spoken unto thee.

3. क्योंकि यहोवा की यह वाणी है, ऐसे दिन आते हैं कि मैं अपनी इस्राएली और यहूदी प्रजा को बंधुआई से लौटा लाऊंगा; और जो देश मैं ने उनके पितरों को दिया था उस में उन्हें फेर ले आऊंगा, और वे फिर उसके अधिकारी होंगे, यहोवा का यही वचन हे।

3. For behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, when I will turn the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith Jehovah; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

4. जो वचन यहोवा ने इस्राएलियों और यहूदियों के विषय कहे थे, वे ये हैंे

4. And these are the words that Jehovah hath spoken concerning Israel and concerning Judah;

5. यहोवा यों कहता हैे थरथरा देनेवाला शब्द सुनाई दे रहा है, शान्ति नहीं, भय ही का है।

5. for thus saith Jehovah: We have heard a voice of trembling, there is fear, and no peace.

6. पूछो तो भला, और देखो, क्या पुरूष को भी कहीं जनने की पीड़ा उठती है? फिर क्या कारण है कि सब पुरूष ज़च्चा की नाई अपनी अपनी कमर अपने हाथों से दबाए हुए देख पड़ते हैं? क्यों सब के मुख फीके रंग के हो गए हैं?

6. Ask ye now, and see, whether a male doth travail with child? Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail; and all faces are turned into paleness?

7. हाय, हाय, वह दिन क्या ही भारी होगा ! उसके समान और कोई दिन नहीं; वह याकूब के संकट का समय होगा; परन्तु वह उस से भी छुड़ाया जाएगा।

7. Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

8. और सेनाओं के यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि उस दिन मैं उसका रखा हुआ जूआ तुम्हारी गर्दन पर से तोड़ दूंगा, और तुम्हारे बन्धनों को टुकड़े- टुकड़े कर डालूंगा; और परदेशी फिर उन से अपनी सेवा न कराने पाएंगे।

8. And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more reduce him to servitude.

9. परन्तु वे अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा और अपने राजा दाऊद की सेवा करेंगे जिसको मैं उन पर राज्य करने के लिये ठहराऊंगा।

9. But they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

10. इसलिये हे मेरे दास याकूब, तेरे लिये यहोवा की यह वाणी है, मत डर; हे इस्राएल, विस्मित न हो; क्योंकि मैं दूर देश से तुझे और तेरे वंश को बंधुआई के देश से छुड़ा ले आऊंगा। तब याकूब लौटकर, चैन और सुख से रहेगा, और कोई उसको डराने न पाएगा।

10. And thou, my servant Jacob, fear not, saith Jehovah; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for behold, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and at ease, and none shall make [him] afraid.

11. क्योंकि यहोवा की यह वाणी है, तुम्हारा उठ्ठार करने के लिये मैं तुम्हारे संग हूँ; इसलिये मैं उन सब जातियों का अन्त कर डालूंगा, जिन में मैं ने उन्हें तितर- बितर किया है, परन्तु तुम्हारा अन्त न करूंगा। तुम्हारी ताड़ना मैं विचार करके करूंगा, और तुम्हें किसी प्रकार से निदष न ठहराऊंगा।

11. For I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to save thee: for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have scattered thee; yet of thee will I not make a full end, but I will correct thee with judgment, and will not hold thee altogether guiltless.

12. यहोवा यों कहता हैे तेरे दु:ख की कोई औषध नहीं, और तेरी चोट गहिरी और दुखप्रद है।

12. For thus saith Jehovah: Thy bruise is incurable, thy wound is grievous.

13. तेरा मुक़ मा लड़ने के लिये कोई नहीं, तेरा घाव बान्धने के लिये न पट्टी, न मलहम है।

13. There is none to plead thy cause, to bind up [thy wound]; thou hast no healing medicines.

14. तेरे सब मित्रा तुझे भूल गए; वे तुम्हारी सुधि नहीं लेते; क्योंकि तेरे बड़े अधर्म और भारी पापों के कारण, मैं ने शत्रु बनकर तुझे मारा है; मैं ने क्रूर बनकर ताड़न दी है।

14. All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not. For I have smitten thee with the stroke of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of thine iniquity: thy sins are manifold.

15. तू अपने घाव के मारे क्यों चिल्लाती है? तेरी पीड़ा की कोई औषध नहीं। तेरे बड़े अधर्म और भारी पापों के कारण मैं ने तुझ से ऐसा व्यवहार किया है।

15. Why criest thou because of thy bruise? thy sorrow is incurable; for the greatness of thine iniquity, [because] thy sins are manifold, I have done these things unto thee.

16. परन्तु जितने तुझे अब खाए लेते हैं, वे आप ही खाए जाएंगे, और तेरे द्रोही आप सब के सब बंधुआई में जाएंगे; और तेरे लूटनेवाले आप लुटेंगे ओर जितने तेरा धन छीनते हैं, उनका धन मैं छिनवाऊंगा।

16. Therefore all that devour thee shall be devoured, and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be for a spoil; and all they that prey upon thee will I give to be a prey.

17. मैं तेरा इलाज करके तेरे घावों को चंगा करूंगा, यहोवा की यह वाणी है; क्योंकि तेरा नाम ठुकराई हुई पड़ा हैे वह तो सिरयोन है, उसकी चिन्ता कौन करता है?

17. For I will apply a bandage unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith Jehovah; for they have called thee an outcast: This is Zion that no man seeketh after.

18. यहोवा कहता हैे मैं याकूब के तम्बू को बंधुआई से लौटाता हूँ और उसके घरों पर दया करूंगा; ओर नगर अपने ही खण्डहर पर फिर बसेगा, और राजभवन पहिले के अनुसार फिर बन जाएगा।

18. Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his habitations; and the city shall be built upon her own heap; and the palace shall be inhabited after the manner thereof.

19. तब उन में से धन्य कहने, और आनन्द करने का शब्द सुनाई पड़ेगा।

19. And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving, and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be diminished; and I will honour them, and they shall not be small.

20. मैं उनका विभव बढ़ाऊंगा, और वे थोड़े न होंगे। उनके लड़केवाले प्राचीनकाल के समान होंगे, और उनकी मण्डली मेरे साम्हने स्थिर रहेगी; और जितने उन पर अन्धेर करते हैं उनको मैं दण्ड दूंगा।

20. And their sons shall be as aforetime; and their assembly shall be established before me; and I will punish all that oppress them.

21. उनका महापुरूष उन्हीं में से होगा, और जो उन पर प्रभुता करेगा, वह उन्हीं में से उत्पन्न होगा; मैं उसे अपने निकट बुलाऊंगा, और वह मेरे समीप आ भी जाएगा, क्योंकि कौन है जो अपने आप मेरे समीप आ सकता है? यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

21. And their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to approach, and he shall draw near unto me. For who is this that engageth his heart to draw near unto me? saith Jehovah.

22. उस समय तुम मेरी प्रजा ठहरोगे, और मैं तुम्हारा परमेश्वर ठहरूंगा।

22. And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

23. देखो, यहोवा की जलजलाहट की आंधी चल रही है ! वह अति प्रचण्ड आंधी है; दुष्टों के सिर पर वह जोर से लगेगी।

23. Behold, a tempest of Jehovah, fury is gone forth, a sweeping storm: it shall whirl down upon the head of the wicked.

24. जब तक यहोवा अपना काम न कर चुके और अपनी युक्तियों को पूरी न कर चुके, तब तक उसका भड़का हुआ क्रोध शान्त न होगा। अन्त के दिनों में तुम इस बात को समझ सकोगे।

24. The fierce anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and until he have performed the purposes of his heart. At the end of the days ye shall consider it.
