1. यहोवा का यह वचन मेरे पास पहुंचा,

1. The Lord's message came to me:

2. इस स्थान में विवाह करके बेटे- बेटियां मत जन्मा।

2. 'Jeremiah, you must not get married. You must not have sons or daughters in this place.'

3. क्योंकि जो बेटे- बेटियां इस स्थन में उत्पन्न हों और जो माताएं उन्हें जनें और जो पिता उन्हें इस देश में जन्माएं,

3. This is what the Lord says about the sons and daughters who are born in the land of Judah and their mothers and fathers:

4. उनके विषय यहोवा यों कहता है, वे बुरी बुरी बीमारियों से मरेंगे। उनके लिये कोई छाती न पीटेगा, न उनको मिट्टी देगा; वे भूमि के ऊपर खाद की नाई पड़े रहेंगे। वे तलवार और महंगी से मर मिटेंगे, और उनकी लोथें आकाश के पक्षियों और मैदान के पशुओं का आहार होंगी।

4. They will die a terrible death. No one will cry for them. No one will bury them. Their bodies will lie on the ground like dung. They will die by an enemy's sword, or they will starve to death. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the earth.'

5. यहोवा ने कहा, जिस घर में रोनापीटना हो उस में न जाना, न छाती पीटने के लिये कहीं जाना और न इन लोगों के लिये शोक करना; क्योंकि यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि मैं ने अपनी शान्ति और करूणा और दया इन लोगों पर से उठा ली है।

5. So the Lord says, 'Jeremiah, don't go into a house where people are eating a funeral meal. Don't go there to cry for the dead or to show your sorrow. Don't do these things, because I have taken back my blessing. I will not be kind to the people of Judah. I will not feel sorry for them.' This message is from the Lord.

6. इस कारण इस देश के छोटे- बड़े सब मरेंगे, न तो इनको मिट्टी दी जाएगी, न लोग छाती पीटेंगे, न अपना शरीर चीरेंगे, और न सिर मुंड़ाएंगे। इनके लिये कोई शोक करनेवालों को रोटी न बाटेंगे कि शोक में उन्हें शान्ति दें;

6. Important people and common people will die in the land of Judah. No one will bury them or cry for them. No one will cut himself or shave his head to show sorrow for them.

7. और न लोग पिता वा माता के मरने पर किसी को शान्ति के लिये कटोरे में दाखमधु पिलाएंगे।

7. No one will bring food to those who are crying for the dead. No one will comfort those whose mother or father has died. No one will offer a drink to comfort those who are crying for the dead.

8. तू जेवनार के घर में इनके साथ खाने- पीने के लिये न जाना।

8. 'Jeremiah, don't go into a house where the people are having a party. Don't go into that house and sit down to eat and drink.

9. क्योंकि सेनाओं का यहोवा, इस्राएल का परमेश्वर यों कहता है, देख, तुम लोगों के देखते और तुम्हारे ही दिनों में मैं ऐसा करूंगा कि इस स्थान में न तो हर्ष और न आनन्द का शब्द सुनाई पडेगा, न दुल्हे और न दुल्हिन का शब्द।

9. This is what the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel says: I will soon stop the sounds of people having fun. I will stop the happy sounds people make during a wedding party. This will happen during your lifetime. I will do these things quickly.

10. और जब तू इन लोगों से ये सब बातें कहे, और वे तुझ से पूछें कि यहोवा ने हमारे ऊपर यह सारी बड़ी विपत्ति डालने के लिये क्यों कहा है? हमारा अधर्म क्या है और हम ने अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के विरूद्ध कौन सा पाप किया है?

10. 'Jeremiah, you will tell the people of Judah these things, and the people will ask you, 'Why has the Lord said these terrible things to us? What have we done wrong? What sin have we done against the Lord our God?'

11. तो तू इन लोगों से कहना, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, क्योंकि तुम्हारे पुरखा मुझे त्यागकर दूसरे देवताओं के पीछे चले, और उनकी उपासना करके उनको दण्डवत् की, और मुझ को त्याग दिया और मेरी व्यवस्था का पालन नहीं किया,

11. You must tell them: 'Terrible things will happen to you because your ancestors stopped following me.' This message is from the Lord. 'They stopped following me and began to follow and serve other gods. They worshiped those other gods. Your ancestors left me and stopped obeying my law.

12. ओर जितनी बुराई तुम्हारे पुरखाओं ने की थी, उस से भी अधिक तुम करते हो, क्योंकि तुम अपने बुरे मन के हठ पर चलते हो और मेरी नहीं सुनते;

12. But you people have sinned more than your ancestors. You are very stubborn, and you are doing only what you want to do. You are not obeying me. You do only what you want to do,

13. इस कारण मैं तुम को इस देश से उखाड़कर ऐसे देश में फेंक दूंगा, जिसको न तो तुम जानते हो और न तुम्हारे पुरखा जानते थे; और वहां तुम रात- दिन दूसरे देवताओं की उपासना करते रहोगे, क्योंकि वहां मैं तुम पर कुछ अनुग्रह न करूंगा।

13. so I will throw you out of this country. I will force you to go to a foreign country. You will go to a land that you and your ancestors never knew. There you can serve false gods all you want to. I will not help you or show you any favors.'

14. फिर यहोवा की यह वाणी हुई, देखो, ऐसे दिन आनेवाले हैं जिन में फिर यह न कहा जाएगा कि यहोवा जो इस्राएलियों को मिस्र देश से छुड़ा ले आया उसके जीवन की सौगन्ध,

14. People make promises and say, 'As surely as the Lord lives. He is the one who brought the Israelites out of the land of Egypt.' But the time is coming,' says the Lord, 'when people will not say that.

15. वरन यह कहा जाएगा कि यहोवा जो इस्राएलियों को उत्तर के देश से और उन सब देशों से जहां उस ने उनको बरबस कर दिया था छुड़ा ले आया, उसके जीवन की सौगन्ध। क्योंकि मैं उनको उनके निज देश में जो मैं ने उनके पूर्वजों को दिया था, लौटा ले आऊंगा।

15. They will say something new. They will say, 'As surely as the Lord lives. He is the one who brought the Israelites out of the northern land. He brought them out of all the countries where he had sent them.' Why will they say that? Because I will bring the Israelites back to the land that I gave to their ancestors.

16. देखो, यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि मै बहुत से मछुओं को बुलवा भेजूंगा कि वे इन लोगों को पकड़ लें, और, फिर मैं बहुत से बहेलियों को बुलवा भेजूंगा कि वे इनको अहेर करके सब पहाड़ों और पहाड़ियों पर से और चट्टानों की दरारों में से निकालें।

16. I will soon send for many fishermen to come to this land.' This message is from the Lord. 'They will catch the people of Judah. After that happens, I will send for many hunters to come to this land. They will hunt the people of Judah on every mountain and hill and in the cracks of the rocks.

17. क्योंकि उनका पूरा चाल- चलन मेरी आंखों के साम्हने प्रगट है; वह मेरी दृष्टि से छिपा नहीं है, न उनका अधर्म मेरी आखों से गुप्त है। सो मैं उनके अधर्म और पाप का दूना दण्ड दूंगा,

17. I see everything they do. The people of Judah cannot hide the things they do from me. Their sin is not hidden from me.

18. क्योंकि उन्हों ने मेरे देश को अपनी घृणित वस्तुओं की लोथों से अशुठ्ठ किया, और मेरे निज भाग को अपनी अशुठ्ठता से भर दिया है।

18. I will pay the people of Judah back for the evil things they did�I will punish them two times for every sin. I will do this because they have made my land 'dirty.' They made my land 'dirty' with their disgusting idols. I hate those idols, but they have filled my country with their idols.'

19. हे यहोवा, हे मेरे बल और दृढ़ गढ़, संकट के समय मेरे शरणस्थान, जातिजाति के लोग पृथ्वी की चहुंओर से तेरे पास आकर कहेंगे, निश्चय हमारे पुरखा झूठी, व्यर्थ और निष्फल वस्तुओं को अपनाते आए हैं।

19. Lord, you are my strength and my protection. You are a safe place to run to in time of trouble. The nations will come to you from all around the world. They will say, 'Our fathers had false gods. They worshiped those worthless idols, but the idols did not help them.

20. क्या मनुष्य ईश्वरों को बनाए? नहीं, वे ईश्वर नहीं हो सकते !

20. Can people make real gods for themselves? No, they can only make statues that are not really gods.'

21. इस कारण, एक इस बार, मैं इन लोगों को अपना भुजबल और पराक्रम दिखाऊंगा, और वे जानेंगे कि मेरा नाम यहोवा है।

21. So I will teach those who make idols. Right now I will teach them about my power and my strength. Then they will know that I am God. They will know that I am the Lord.
