1. हे कुलीन की पुत्री, तेरे पांव जूतियों में क्या ही सुन्दर हैं! तेरी जांघों की गोलाई ऐसे गहनों के समान है, जिसको किसी निपुण कारीगर ने रचा हो।

1. How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of thy thighs {are} like jewels, the work of the hands of a skillful workman.

2. तेरी नाभि गोल कटोरा है, जो मसाला मिले हुए दाखमधु से पूर्ण हो तेरा पेट गेहूं के ढेर के समान है जिसके चहुँओर सोसन फूल हों।

2. Thy navel {is like} a round goblet, {which} wanteth not liquor: thy belly {is like} a heap of wheat set about with lilies.

3. तेरी दोनों छातियां मृगनी के दो जुड़वे बच्चों के समान हैं।

3. Thy two breasts {are} like two young roes {that are} twins.

4. तेरा गला हाथीदांत का गुम्मट है। तेरी आंखें हेशबोन के उन कुन्डों के समान हैं, जो बत्राब्बीम के फाटक के पास हैं। तेरी नाक लबानोन के गुम्मट के तुल्य है, जिसका मुख दमिश्क की ओर है।

4. Thy neck {is} as a tower of ivory; thy eyes {like} the fish-pools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bath-rabbim: thy nose {is} as the tower of Lebanon which looketh towards Damascus.

5. तेरा सिर तुझ पर कर्मेल के समान शोभायमान है, और तेरे सर की लटें अर्गवानी रंग के वस्त्रा के तुल्य है; राजा उन लआओं में बंधुआ हो गया है।

5. Thy head upon thee {is} like Carmel, and the hair of thy head like purple; the king {is} held in the galleries.

6. हे प्रिय और मनभावनी कुमारी, तू कैसी सुन्दर और कैसी मनोहर है!

6. How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!

7. तेरा डील डौल खजूर के समान शानदार है और तेरी छातियां अंगूर के गुच्छों के समान हैं।।

7. This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters {of grapes}.

8. मैं ने कहा, मैं इस खजूर पर चढ़कर उसकी डालियों को पकडूंगा। तेरी छातियां अंगूर के गुच्छे हो, और तेरी श्वास का सुगन्ध सेबों के समान हो,

8. I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of its boughs: now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples;

9. और तेरे चुम्बन उत्तम दाखमधु के समान हैं जो सरलता से ओठों पर से धीरे धीरे बह जाती है।।

9. And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth {down} sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak.

10. मैं अपनी प्रेमी की हूं। और उसकी लालसा मेरी ओर नित बनी रहती है।

10. I {am} my beloved's, and his desire {is} towards me.

11. हे मेरे प्रेमी, आ, हम खेतों में निकल जाएं और गांवों में रहें;

11. Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages.

12. फिर सबेरे उठकर दाख की बारियों में चलें, और देखें कि दाखलता में कलियें लगी हैं कि नहीं, कि दाख के फूल खिलें हैं या नहीं, और अनार फूले हैं वा नहीं वहां मैं तुझ को अपना प्रेम दिखाऊंगी।

12. Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourisheth, {whether} the tender grape appeareth, {and} the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.

13. दोदाफलों से सुगन्ध आ रही है, और हमारे द्वारों पर सब भांति के उत्तम फल हैं, नये और पुराने भी, जो, हे मेरे प्रेमी, मैं ने तेरे लिये इकट्ठे कर रखे हैं।।

13. The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates {are} all manner of pleasant {fruits}, new and old, {which} I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.
