1. मार हुई मक्खियों के कारण गन्धी का तेल सड़ने और बसाने लगता है; और थोड़ी सी मूर्खता बुद्धि और प्रतिष्ठा को घटा देती है।

7. मैं ने दासों को घोड़ों पर चढ़े, और रईसों को दासों की नाई भूमि पर चलते हुए देखा है।।

12. बुद्धिमान के वचनों के कारण अनुग्रह होता है, परन्तु मूर्ख अपने वचनों के द्वारा नाश होते हैं।

13. उसकी बात का आरम्भ मूर्खता का, और उनका अन्त दुखदाई बावलापन होता है।

14. मूर्ख बहुत बातें बढ़ाकर बोलता है, तौभी कोई मनुष्य नहीं जानता कि क्या होगा, और कौन बता सकता है कि उसके बाद क्या होनेवाला है?

20. Don't make fun of the king, and don't make fun of rich people, even in your bedroom. A little bird might carry your words; a bird might fly and tell what you said.
