1. तब यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा, अब तू देखेगा कि मैं फिरौन ने क्या करूंगा; जिस से वह उनको बरबस निकालेगा, वह तो उन्हें अपने देश से बरबस निकाल देगा।।

1. Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Now you will see what I am going to do to Pharaoh. A mighty hand will force him to let them go, a mighty hand will force him to expel them from his country.'

2. और परमेश्वर ने मूसा से कहा, कि मैं यहोवा हूं।

2. God spoke to Moses and said to him, 'I am Yahweh.

3. मैं सर्वशक्तिमान ईश्वर के नाम से इब्राहीम, इसहाक, और याकूब को दर्शन देता था, परन्तु यहोवा के नाम से मैं उन पर प्रगट न हुआ।

3. To Abraham, Isaac and Jacob I appeared as El Shaddai, but I did not make my name Yahweh known to them.

4. और मैं ने उनके साथ अपनी वाचा दृढ़ की है, अर्थात् कनान देश जिस में वे परदेशी होकर रहते थे, उसे उन्हें दे दूं।

4. I also made my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the country in which they were living as aliens.

5. और इस्राएली जिन्हें मिद्दी लोग दासत्व में रखते हैं उनका कराहना भी सुनकर मैं ने अपनी वाचा को स्मरण किया है।

5. Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, enslaved by the Egyptians, and have remembered my covenant.

6. इस कारण तू इस्राएलियों से कह, कि मैं यहोवा हूं, और तुम को मिस्त्रियों के बोझों के नीचे से निकालूंगा, और उनके दासत्व से तुम को छुडाऊंगा, और अपनी भुजा बढ़ाकर और भारी दण्ड देकर तुम्हें छुड़ा लूंगा,

6. So say to the Israelites, 'I am Yahweh. I shall free you from the forced labour of the Egyptians; I shall rescue you from their slavery and I shall redeem you with outstretched arm and mighty acts of judgement.

8. और जिस देश के देने की शपथ मैं ने इब्राहीम, इसहाक, और याकूब से खाई थी उसी में मैं तुम्हें पहुंचाकर उसे तुम्हारा भाग कर दूंगा। मैं तो यहोवा हूं।

8. Then I shall lead you into the country which I swore I would give to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and shall give it to you as your heritage, I, Yahweh.' '

9. और ये बातें मूसा ने इस्राएलियों को सुनाई; परन्तु उन्हों ने मन की बेचैनी और दासत्व की क्रूरता के कारण उसकी न सुनी।।

9. And Moses repeated this to the Israelites, but they would not listen to Moses, so crushed was their spirit and so cruel their slavery.

10. तब यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा,

10. Yahweh then said to Moses,

11. तू जाकर मि के राजा फिरौन से कह, कि इस्राएलियों को अपने देश में से निकल जाने दे।

11. 'Go to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and tell him to let the Israelites leave his country.'

12. और मूसा ने यहोवा से कहा, देख, इस्राएलियों ने मेरी नहीं सुनी; फिर फिरौन मुझ भ : बोलनेवाले की क्योंकर सुनेगा ?

12. But Moses spoke out in Yahweh's presence and said, 'The Israelites have not listened to me, so why should Pharaoh take any notice of a poor speaker like me?'

13. और यहोवा ने मूसा और हारून को इस्राएलियों और मि के राजा फिरौन के लिये आज्ञा इस अभिप्राय से दी कि वे इस्राएलियों को मि देश से निकाल ले जाएं।

13. Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and sent them to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.

14. उनके पितरों के घरानों के मुख्य पुरूष ये हैं : इस्राएल के जेठा रूबेन के पुत्रा : हनोक, पल्लू, हेद्दॊन और कर्म्मी थे;

14. These were their heads of families: The sons of Reuben, Israel's first-born: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron and Carmi: these are the clans of Reuben.

15. और शिमोन के पुत्रा : यमूएल, यामीन, ओहद, याकिन, और सोहर थे, और एक कनानी स्त्री का बेटा शाउल भी था; इन्हीं से शिमोन के कुल निकले।

15. The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul son of the Canaanite woman: these are the clans of Simeon.

16. और लेवी के पुत्रा जिन से उनकी वंशावली चली है, उनके नाम ये हैं : अर्थात् गेर्शोन, कहात और मरारी, और लेवी को पूरी अवस्था एक सौ सैंतीस वर्ष की हुई।

16. These were the names of the sons of Levi with their descendants: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived for a hundred and thirty-seven years.

17. गेर्शोन के पुत्रा जिन से उनका कुल चला : लिबनी और शिमी थे।

17. The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, with their clans.

18. और कहात के पुत्रा : अम्राम, यिसहार, हेब्रोन और उज्जीएल थे, और कहात की पूरी अवस्था एक सौ सैंतीस वर्ष की हुई।

18. The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived for a hundred and thirty-three years.

19. और मरारी के पुत्रा : महली और मूशी थे। लेवियों के कुल जिन से उनकी वंशावली चली ये ही हैं।

19. The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of Levi with their descendants.

20. अम्राम ने अपनी फूफी योकेबेद को ब्याह लिया और उस से हारून और मूसा उत्पन्न हुए, और अम्राम की पूरी अवस्था एक सौ सैंतीस वर्ष की हुई।

20. Amram married Jochebed, his aunt, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived for a hundred and thirty-seven years.

21. और यिसहार के पुत्रा कोरह, नेपेग और जिक्री थे।

21. The sons of Izhar were: Korah, Nepheg and Zichri.

22. और उज्जीएल के पुत्रा: मीशाएल, एलसापन और सित्री थे।

22. And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.

23. और हारून ने अम्मीनादाब की बेटी, और नहशोन की बहिन एलीशेबा को ब्याह लिया; और उस से नादाब, अबीहू, ऐलाजार और ईतामार उत्पन्न हुए।

23. Aaron married Elisheba daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

24. और कोरह के पुत्रा : अस्सीर, एलकाना और अबीआसाप थे; और इन्हीं से कोरहियों के कुल निकले।

24. The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These are the clans of the Korahites.

25. और हारून के पुत्रा एलाजार ने पूतीएल की एक बेटी को ब्याह लिया; और उस से पीनहास उत्पन्न हुआ जिन से उनका कुल चला। लेवियों के पितरों के घरानों के मुख्य पुरूष ये ही हैं।

25. Eleazar, son of Aaron, married one of Putiel's daughters who bore him Phinehas. These were the Levitical heads of families, according to clan.

26. हारून और मूसा वे ही हैं जिनको यहोवा ने यह आज्ञा दी, कि इस्राएलियों को दल दल करके उनके जत्थों के अनुसार मि देश से निकाल ले आओ।

26. It was to this Aaron and Moses that Yahweh said, 'Lead the Israelites out of Egypt in their armies.'

27. ये वही मूसा और हारून हैं जिन्हों ने मि के राजा फिरौन से कहा, कि हम इस्राएलियों को मि से निकाल ले जाएंगे।।

27. It was they who spoke to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to lead the Israelites out of Egypt -- namely Moses and Aaron.

28. जब यहोवा ने मि देश में मूसा से यह बात कही,

28. Now the day when Yahweh spoke to Moses in Egypt,

29. कि मैं तो यहोवा हूं; इसलिये जो कुछ मैं तुम से कहूंगा वह सब मि के राजा फिरौन से कहना।

29. Yahweh said to Moses, 'Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything that I am going to say to you.'

30. और मूसा ने यहोवा को उत्तर दिया, कि मैं तो बोलने में भस्रा हूं; और फिरोन क्योंकर मेरी सुनेगा ?

30. But Moses said to Yahweh's face, 'I am a poor speaker, so why should Pharaoh take any notice of me?'
