1. फिर एलीहू यों कहता गया;

1. Moreover Elihu answered and said,

2. हे बुध्दिमानो ! मेरी बातें सुनो, और हे ज्ञानियो ! मेरी बातों पर कान लगाओ;

2. Hear my words, you+ wise men; And give ear to me, you+ who have knowledge.

3. क्योंकि जैसे जीभ से चखा जाता है, वैसे ही वचन कान से परखे जाते हैं।

3. For the ear tries words, As the palate tastes food.

4. जो कुछ ठीक है, हम अपने लिये चुन लें; जो भला है, हम आपस में समझ बूझ लें।

4. Let us choose for us that which is right: Let us know among ourselves what is good.

5. क्योंकि अरयूब ने कहा है, कि मैं निदष हूँ, और ईश्वर ने मेरा हक़ मार दिया है।

5. For Job has said, I am righteous, And God has taken away my right:

6. यद्यपि मैं सच्चाई पर हूं, तौभी झूठा ठहरता हूँ, मैं निरपराध हूँ, परन्तु मेरा घाव असाध्य है।

6. Against my right he has lied; My wound is incurable, [though I am] without transgression.

7. अरयूब के तुल्य कौन शूरवीर है, जो ईश्वर की निन्दा पानी की नाई पीता है,

7. What [noble] man is like Job, Who drinks up scoffing like water,

8. जो अनर्थ करनेवालों का साथ देता, और दुष्ट मनुष्यों की संगति रखता है?

8. Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, And walks with wicked men?

9. उस ने तो कहा है, कि मनुष्य को इस से कुछ लाभ नहीं कि वह आनन्द से परमेश्वर की संगति रखे।

9. For he has said, It profits a [noble] man nothing That he should delight himself with God.

10. इसलिऐ हे समझवालो ! मेरी सुनो, यह सम्भव नहीं कि ईश्वर दुष्टता का काम करे, और सर्वशकितमान बुराई करे।

10. Therefore listen to me, you+ men of understanding: Far be it from God, that he should do wickedness, And from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.

11. वह मनुष्य की करनी का फल देता है, और प्रत्येक को अपनी अपनी चाल का फल भुगताता है।

11. For the work of man he will render to him, And cause a man to find according to his ways.

12. निेसन्देह ईश्वर दुष्टता नहीं करता और न सर्वशक्तिमान अन्याय करता है।

12. Yes, certainly, God will not do wickedly, Neither will the Almighty pervert justice.

13. किस ने पृथ्वी को उसके हाथ में सौंप दिया? वा किस ने सारे जगत का प्रबन्ध किया?

13. Who gave him a charge over the earth? Or who has disposed the whole world?

14. यदि वह मनुष्य से अपना मन हटाये और अपना आत्मा और श्वास अपने ही में समेट ले,

14. If he sets his heart on himself, [If] he gathers to himself his spirit and his breath;

15. तो सब देहधारी एक संग नाश हो जाएंगे, और मनुष्य फिर मिट्टी में मिल जाएगा।

15. All flesh will perish together, And man will turn again to dust.

16. इसलिये इसको सुनकर समझ रख, और मेरी इन बातों पर कान लगा।

16. If now [you have] understanding, hear this: Listen to the voice of my words.

17. जो न्याय का बैरी हो, क्या वह शासन करे? जो पूर्ण धम है, क्या तू उसे दुष्ट ठहराएगा?

17. Will even one who hates justice govern? And will you condemn him who is righteous [and] mighty?--

18. वह राजा से कहता है कि तू नीच है; और प्रधानों से, कि तुम दुष्ट हो।

18. [Him] who says to a king, [You are] vile, [Or] to nobles, [You+ are] wicked;

19. ईश्वर तो हाकिमों का पक्ष नहीं करता और धनी और कंगाल दोनों को अपने बनाए हुए जानकर उन में कुछ भेद नहीं करता।
याकूब 2:1

19. Who does not respect the persons of princes, Nor regards the rich more than the poor; For all of them are the work of his hands.

20. आधी रात को पल भर में वे मर जाते हैं, और प्रजा के लोग हिलाए जाते और जाते रहते हैं। और प्रतापी लोग बिना हाथ लगाए उठा लिए जाते हैं।

20. In a moment they die, even at midnight; The people are shaken and pass away, And the mighty are taken away without a [human] hand.

21. क्योंकि ईश्वर की आंखें मनुष्य की चालचलन पर लगी रहती हैं, और वह उसकी सारी चाल को देखता रहता है।

21. For his eyes are on the ways of a man, And he sees all his goings.

22. ऐसा अन्धियारा वा घोर अन्धकार कहीं नहीं है जिस में अनर्थ करनेवाले छिप सकें।

22. There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

23. क्योंकि उस ने मनुष्य का कुछ समय नहीं ठहराया ताकि वह ईश्वर के सम्मुख अदालत में जाए।

23. For he does not need further to consider a man, That he should go before God in judgment.

24. वह बड़े बड़े बलवानों को बिना मुछपाछ के चूर चूर करता है, और उनके स्थान पर औरों को खड़ा कर देता है।

24. He breaks in pieces mighty men [in ways] past finding out, And sets others in their stead.

25. इसलिये कि वह उनके कामों को भली भांति जानता है, वह उन्हें रात में ऐसा उलट देता है कि वे चूर चूर हो जाते हैं।

25. Therefore he takes knowledge of their works; And he overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

26. वह उन्हें दुष्ट जानकर सभों के देखते मारता है,

26. He strikes them as wicked men In the open sight of others;

27. क्योंकि उन्हों ने उसके पीछे चलना छोड़ दिया है, और उसके किसी मार्ग पर चित्त न लगाया,

27. Because they turned aside from following him, And would not have regard to any of his ways:

28. यहां तक कि उनके कारण कंगालों की दोहाई उस तक पहुंची और उस ने दीन लोगों की दोहाई सुनी।

28. So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him, And he heard the cry of the afflicted.

29. जब वह चैन देता तो उसे कौन दोषी ठहरा सकता है? और जब वह मुंह फेर ले, तब कौन उसका दर्शन पा सकता है? जाति भर के साथ और अकेले मनुष्य, दोनों के साथ उसका बराबर व्यवहार है

29. When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? And when he hides his face, who then can see him? Alike whether [it is done] to a nation, or to man:

30. ताकि भक्तिहीन राज्य करता न रहे, और प्रजा फन्दे में फंसाई न जाए।

30. He makes king [the] godless man From among the seducers of the people.

31. क्या किसी ने कभी ईश्वर से कहा, कि मैं ने दणड सहा, अब मैं भविष्य में बुराई न करूंगा,

31. For has any said to God, I have borne [chastisement], I will not offend [anymore]:

32. जो कुछ मुझे नहीं सूझ पड़ता, वह तू मुझे सिखा दे; और यदि मैं ने टेढ़ा काम किया हो, तो भविष्य में वैसा न करूंगा?

32. That which I don't see teach me: If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more?

33. क्या वह तेरे ही मन के अनुसार बदला पाए क्योंकि तू उस से अप्रसन्न है? क्योंकि तुझे निर्णय करना है, न कि मुझे; इस कारण जो कुछ तुझे समझ पड़ता है, वह कह दे।

33. Will his recompense be as you will, that you refuse it? For you must choose, and not I: Therefore speak what you know.

34. सब ज्ञानी पुरूष वरन जितले बुध्दिमान मेरी सुनते हैं वे मुझ से कहेंगे, कि

34. Men of understanding will say to me, And the wise [noble] man will listen to me:

35. अरयूब ज्ञान की बातें नहीं कहता, और न उसके वचन समझ के साथ होते हैं।

35. Job speaks without knowledge, And his words are without wisdom.

36. भला होता, कि अरयूब अन्त तब परीक्षा में रहता, क्योंकि उस ने अनर्थियों के से उत्तर दिए हैं।

36. Oh that Job were tried to the end, Because of his answering like wicked men.

37. और वह अपने पाप में विरोध बढ़ाता है; ओर हमारे बीच ताली बजाता है, और ईश्वर के पिरूठ्ठ बहुत सी बातें बनाता है।

37. For he adds rebellion to his sin; He claps his hands among us, And multiplies his words against God.
