1. तब तेमानी एलीपज ने कहा,

1. So Eliphas the Themanite gaue answere, & sayde:

2. क्या पुरूष से ईश्वर को लाभ पहुंच सकता है? जो बुध्दिमान है, वह अपने ही लाभ का कारण होता है।

2. Maye a man be copared vnto God in wy?dome, though he seme to himself, for to be like him?

3. क्या तेरे धम होने से सर्वशक्तिमान सुख पा सकता है? तेरी चाल की खराई से क्या उसे कुछ लाभ हो सकता है?

3. What pleasure hath God in yt thou art rightuous? Or what doth it profite him, yt thy waies are perfecte?

4. वह तो तुझे डांटता है, और तुझ से मुक मा लड़ता है, तो क्या इस दशा में तेरी भक्ति हो सकती है?

4. Is he afrayed to reproue the, & to steppe forth wt the in to iudgment?

5. क्या तेरी बुराई बहुत नहीं? तेरे अधर्म के कामों का कुछ अन्त नहीं।

5. Cometh not this for ye greate wickednesse, & for thine vngracious dedes which are innumerable?

6. तू ने तो अपने भाई का बन्धक अकारण रख लिया है, और नंगे के वस्त्रा उतार लिये हैं।

6. Thou hast take the pledge from thy brethre for naught, & robbed the naked of their clothinge:

7. थके हुए को तू ने पानी न पिलाया, और भूखे को रोटी देने से इनकार किया।

7. To soch as were weery, hast thou geue no water to drynke, thou hast withdrawe bred fro the hungrie:

8. जो बलवान था उसी को भूमि मिली, और जिस पुरूष की प्रतिष्ठा हुई थी, वही उस में बस गया।

8. Shulde soch one the as vseth violece, wroge & oppression (doinge all thinges of parcialyte, & hauynge respecte of personnes) dwell in the lode?

9. तू ने विधवाओं को छूछे हाथ लौटा दिया। और अनाथों की बाहें तोड़ डाली गई।

9. Thou hast sent wyddowes awaye emptie and oppressed the poore fatherlesse.

10. इस कारण तेरे चारों ओर फन्दे लगे हैं, और अचानक डर के मारे तू घगरा रहा है।

10. Therfore art thou compased aboute with snares on euery syde, & sodely vexed wt feare.

11. क्या तू अन्धियारे को नहीं देखता, और उस बाढ़ को जिस में तू डूब रहा है?

11. Shuldest thou the se no darcknesse? Shulde not the water floude runne ouer the?

12. क्या ईश्वर स्वर्ग के ऊंचे स्थान में नहीं है? ऊंचे से ऊंचे तारों को देख कि वे कितने ऊंचे हैं।।

12. Now because yt God is hyer the the heauens, & because thou seist yt the starres are so hye,

13. फिर तू कहता है कि ईश्वर क्या जानता है? क्या वह घोर अन्धकार की आड़ में होकर न्याय करेगा?

13. wilt thou therfore saye: Tush, how shulde God knowe? Doth his dominion reach beyonde the cloudes?

14. काली घटाओं से वह ऐसा छिपा रहता है कि वह कुछ नहीं देख सकता, वह तो आकाशमणडल ही के ऊपर चलता फिरता है।

14. Tush, the cloudes couer him, yt he maye not se, for he dwelleth in heauen.

15. क्या तू उस पुराने रास्ते को पकड़े रहेगा, जिस पर वे अनर्थ करनेवाले चलते हैं?

15. Well, thou wilt kepe the olde waye, yt all wicked me haue gone:

16. वे अपने समय से पहले उठा लिए गए और उनके घर की नेव नदी बहा ले गई।

16. both olde & yonge, whose foundacion is a runnynge water,

17. उन्हों ने ईश्वर से कहा था, हम से दूर हो जा; और यह कि सर्वशक्तिमान हमारा क्या कर सकता है?

17. which saye vnto God: go from vs, and after this maner: Tush, what wil the Allmightie do vnto vs?

18. तौभी उस ने उनके घर अच्छे अच्छे पदाथसे भर दिए-- परन्तु दुष्ट लोगों का विचार मुझ से दूर रहे।

18. where as he (not with stodinge) fylleth their houses wt all good. Which meanynge of the vngodly be farre fro me.

19. धम लेग देखकर आनन्दित होते हैं; और निदष लोग उनकी हंसी करते हैं, कि

19. For wt ioy shal the godly, and with gladnesse shal the innocent se,

20. जो हमारे विरूद्ध उठे थे, निेसन्देह मिट गए और उनका बड़ा धन आग का कौर हो गया है।

20. that their increase shal be hewen downe, & their posterite consumed with the fyre.

21. उस से मेलमिलाप कर तब तुझे शान्ति मिलेगी; और इस से तेरी भलाई होगी।

21. Therfore recocile the vnto God, & be content, so shal all thinges prospere wt the right well.

22. उसके मुंह से शिक्षा सुन ले, और उसके वचन अपने मन में रख।

22. Receaue the lawe at his mouth, & laye vp his wordes in thine herte.

23. यदि तू सर्वशक्तिमान की ओर फिरके समीप जाए, और अपने डेरे से कुटिल काम दूर करे, तो तू बन जाएगा।

23. For yf thou wilt turne to the Allmightie, thou shalt stonde fast, & all vnrightuousnesse shall be farre from thy dwellinge:

24. तू अपनी अनमोल वस्तुओं को धूलि पर, वरन ओपीर का कुन्दन भी नालों के पत्थरों में डाल दे,

24. He shal geue the an haruest, which in plenty & abundaunce shall exceade the dust of the earth, and the golde of Ophir like ryuer stones.

25. तब सर्वशक्तिमान आप तेरी अनमोल वस्तु और तेरे लिये चमकीली चान्दी होगा।

25. Yee the Allmightie his owne self shalbe thine haruest, & the heape of thy money.

26. तब तू सर्वशक्तिमान से सुख पाएगा, और ईश्वर की ओर अपना मुंह बेखटके उठा सकेगा।

26. Then shalt thou haue thy delyte in the Allmightie, & lift vp thy face vnto God.

27. और तू उस से प्रार्थना करेगा, और वह तेरी सुनेगा; और तू अपनी मन्नतों को पूरी करेगा।

27. The shalt thou make thy prayer vnto him, & he shal heare the, & thou shalt kepe thy promyses.

28. जो बात तू ठाने वह तुझ से बन भी पड़ेगी, और तेरे माग पर प्रकाश रहेगा।

28. The, loke what thou takest in honde, he shal make it to prospere with the, and the light shall shyne in thy wayes.

29. चाहे दुर्भाग्य हो तौभी तू कहेगा कि सुभाग्य होगा, क्योंकि वह नम्र मनुष्य को बचाता है।
मत्ती 23:12, 1 पतरस 5:6

29. For who so humbleth himself, him shal he set vp: and who so loketh mekely, shalbe healed.

30. वरन जो निदष न हो उसको भी वह बचाता है; तेरे शुठ्ठ कामों के कारण तू छुड़ाया जाएगा।

30. Yf thou be innocet, he shal saue the: and thorow the vngiltynesse of thyne handes shalt thou be delyuered.
