1. तब परमेश्वर का आत्मा ओदेद के पुत्रा अजर्याह में समा गया,

1. Now, as for Azariah son of Oded, there came upon him, the spirit of God.

2. और वह आसा से भेंट करने निकला, और उस से कहा, हे आसा, और हे सारे यहूदा और बिन्यामीन मेरी सुनो, जब तक तुम यहोवा के संग रहोगे तब तक वह तुम्हारे संग रहेगा; और यदि तुम उसकी खोज में लगे रहो, तब तो वह तुम से मिला करेगा, परन्तु यदि तुम उसको त्याग दोगे तो वह भी तुम को त्याग देगा।

2. So he went forth to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear me, O Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin, Yahweh, is with you, so long as ye are with him, and, if ye seek him, he will be found of you, but, if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

3. बहुत दिन इस्राएल बिना सत्य परमेश्वर के और बिना सिखानेवाले याजक के और बिना ब्यवस्था के रहा।

3. Now, many days, had Israel been, without the faithful God, and without a teaching priest, and without the law;

4. परन्तु जब जब वे संकट में पड़कर इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा की ओर फिरे और उसको ढूंढ़ा, तब तब वह उनको मिला।

4. But they turned, in their distress, unto Yahweh God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found of them.

5. उस समय न तो जानेवाले को कुछ शांति होती थी, और न आनेवाले को, वरन सारे देश के सब निवासियों में बड़ा ही कोलाहल होता था।

5. And, in those times, there had been no prosperity, to him that went out nor to him that came in, for, great consternations, were upon all the inhabitants of the lands;

6. और जाति से जाति और तगर से नगर चूर किए जाते थे, क्योंकि परमेश्वर नाना प्रकार का कष्ट देकर उन्हें घबरा देता था।

6. and they were beaten in pieces-nation against nation, and city against city, for, God, discomfited them with all manner of distress.

7. परन्तु तुम लोग हियाब बान्धोे और तुम्हारे हाथ ढीले न पड़ें, क्योंकि तुम्हारे काम का बदला मिलेगा।
1 कुरिन्थियों 15:58

7. Ye, therefore, be strong, and let not your hands be slack, for there is a reward for your work!

8. जब आसा ने ये वचन और ओदेद नबी की नबूवत सुनी, तब उस ने हियाब बान्धकर यहूदा और बिन्यामीन के सारे देश में से, और उन नगरों में से भी जो उस ने एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश में ले लिये थे, सब घिनौनी वस्तुएं दूर कीं, और यहोवा की जो वेदी यहोवा के ओसारे के साम्हने थी, उसको नये सिरे से बनाया।

8. And, when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he strengthened himself, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had captured out of the hill country of Ephraim, and renewed the altar of Yahweh, that was before the porch of Yahweh.

9. और उस ने सारे यहूदा और बिन्यामीन को, और एप्रैम, मनश्शे और शिमोन में से जो लोग उसके संग रहते थे, उनको इकट्ठा किया, क्योंकि वे यह देखकर कि उसका परमेश्वर यहोवा उसके संग रहता है, इस्राएल में से उसके पास बहुत से चले आए थे।

9. And he gathered together all Judah and Benjamin, and the sojourners with them, out of Ephraim and out of Manasseh, and out of Simeon, for they fell unto him out of Israel, in great numbers, because they saw that, Yahweh his God, was with him.

10. आसा के राज्य के पन्द्रहवें वर्ष के तीसरे महीने में वे यरूशलेम में इट्ठे हुए।

10. So they gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem, in the third month of the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

11. और उसी समय उन्हों ने उस लूट में से जो वे ले आए थे, सात सौ बैल और सात हजार भेड़- बकरियां, यहोवा को बलि करके चढ़ाई।

11. And they sacrificed unto Yahweh, on that day, out of the spoil they had brought in, oxen, seven hundred, and sheep, seven thousand.

12. और उन्हों ने वाचा बान्धी कि हम अपने पूरे मन और सारे जीव से अपने पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर यहोवा की खोज करेंगे।

12. And they entered into a covenant, to seek Yahweh, God of their fathers, with all their heart, and with all their soul;

13. और क्या बड़ा, क्या छोटा, क्या स्त्री, क्या पुरूष, जो कोई इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा की खोज न करे, वह मार डाला जाएगा।

13. and, whosoever would not seek unto Yahweh God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

14. और उन्हों ने जय जयकार के साथ तुरहियां और नरसिंगे बजाते हुए ऊंचे शब्द से यहोवा की शपथ खाई।

14. So they bound themselves by oath unto Yahweh, with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets and with horns.

15. और यह शपथ खाकर सब यहूदी आनन्दित हुए, क्योंकि उन्हों ने अपने सारे मन से शपथा खाई और बडी अभिलाषा से उसको ढूंढ़ा और वह उनको मिला, और यहोवा ने चारों ओर से उन्हें विश्राम दिया।

15. And all Judah rejoiced over the oath, for, with all their heart, had they sworn, and, with all their good will, had they sought him, and he was found of them, and Yahweh gave them rest round about.

16. बरन आसा राजा की माता माका जिस ने अशेरा के पास रखने के लिए एक घिनौनी मूरत बनाई, उसको उस ने राजमाता के पद से उतार दिया, और आसा ने उसकी मूरत काटकर पीस डाली और किद्रोन नाले में फूंक दी।

16. Moreover also, as touching Maacah mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made, unto the Sacred Stem, a monstrous thing, so Asa cut down her monstrous thing, and reduced it to dust, and burnt it up, in the Kidron ravine.

17. ऊंचे स्थान तो इस्राएलियों में से न ढाए गए, तौभी आसा का मन जीवन भर तिष्कपट रहा।

17. But, the high places, were not taken away out of Israel, only, the heart of Asa, was perfect, all his days.

18. और उस ने जो सोना चान्दी, और पात्रा उसके पिता ने अर्पण किए थे, और जो उस ने आप अर्पण किए थे, उनको परमेश्वर के भवन में पहंचा दिया।

18. And he brought the hallowed things of his father and his own hallowed things, into the house of God, silver and gold, and utensils.

19. और राजा आसा के राज्य के पैंतीसवें वर्ष तक फिर लड़ाई न हुई।

19. And, war, was there none, until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.
