1. दाऊद तो बूढ़ा वरन बहुत बूढा हो गया था, इसलिये उस ने अपने पुत्रा सुलैमान को इसगाएल पर राजा नियुक्त कर दिया।

1. And David is old, and satisfied with days, and causeth his son Solomon to reign over Israel,

2. तब उस ने इस्राएल के सब हाकिमों और याजकों और लेमियों को इकट्ठा किया।

2. and gathereth all the heads of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites;

3. और जितने लेवीय तीस वर्ष के और उस से अधिक अवस्था के थे, वे गिने एए, और एक एक पुरूष के गिनने से उनकी गिनती अड़तीस हजार हुई।

3. and the Levites are numbered from a son of thirty years and upward, and their number, by their polls, is of mighty men thirty and eight thousand.

4. इन में से चौबीस हजार तो यहोवा के भवन का काम चलाने के लिये नियुक्त हुए, और छे हजार सरदार और न्यायी।

4. Of these to preside over the work of the house of Jehovah [are] twenty and four thousand, and officers and judges six thousand,

5. और चार हजार द्वारपाल नियुक्त हुए, और चार हजार उन बाजों से यहोवा की स्तुति करने के लिये ठहराए गए जो दाऊद ने स्तुति करने के लिये बनाए थे।

5. and four thousand gatekeepers, and four thousand giving praise to Jehovah, 'with instruments that I made for praising,' [saith David.]

6. फिर दाऊद ने उनको गेश न, कहात और मरारी नाम लेवी के पुत्रों के अनुसार दलों में अलग अलग कर दिया।

6. And David distributeth them into courses: Of the sons of Levi: of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

7. गेश नियों में से तो लादान और शिमी थे।

7. Of the Gershonite: Laadan and Shimei.

8. और लादान के पुत्रा : सरदार यहीएल, फिर जेताम और योएल ये तीन थे।

8. Sons of Laadan: the head [is] Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.

9. और शिमी के पुत्रा : शलेमीत, हजीएल और हारान से तीन थे। लादान के कुल के पूर्वजों के घरानों के मुख्य पुरूष ये ही थे।

9. Sons of Shimei [are] Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three; these [are] heads of the fathers of Laadan.

10. फिर शिमी के पुत्रा : यहत, जीना, यूश, और वरीआ के पुत्रा शिमी यही चार थे।

10. And sons of Shimei [are] Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah; these [are] sons of Shimei, four.

11. यहत मुख्य था, और जीजा दूसरा; यूश और बरीआ के वहुत बेटे न हुए, इस कारण वे सब मिलकर पितरों का एक ही घराना ठहरे।

11. And Jahath is the head, and Zizah the second, and Jeush and Beriah have not multiplied sons, and they become the house of a father by one numbering.

12. कहात के पुत्रा : अम्राम, यिसहार, हेब्रोन और उज्जीएल चार। अम्राम के पुत्रा : हारून और मूसा।

12. Sons of Kohath [are] Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

13. हारून तो इसलिये अलग किया गया, कि वह और उसके सन्तान सदा परमपवित्रा वस्तुओं को पवित्रा ठहराएं, और सदा यहोवा के सम्मुख धूप जलाया करें और उसकी सेवा टहल करें, और उसके नाम से आशीर्वाद दिया करें।

13. Sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron is separated for his sanctifying the holy of holies, he and his sons -- unto the age, to make perfume before Jehovah, to serve Him, and to bless in His name -- unto the age.

14. परन्तु परमेश्वर के भक्त मूसा के पुत्रों के नाम लेवी के गोत्रा के बीच गिने गए।

14. As to Moses, the man of God, his sons are called after the tribe of Levi.

15. मूसा के पुत्रा, गेश म और एलीएजेर।

15. Sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.

16. और गेश म का पुत्रा शबूएल मुख्य था।

16. Sons of Gershom: Shebuel the head.

17. और एलीएजेर के पुत्रा : रहब्याह मुख्य; और एलीएजेर के और कोई पुत्रा न हुआ, परन्तु रहब्याह के बहुत से बेटे हुए।

17. And sons of Eliezer are Rehabiah the head, and Eliezer had no other sons, and the sons of Rehabiah have multiplied exceedingly.

18. यिसहार के पुत्रों में से शलोमीत मुख्य ठहरा।

18. Sons of Izhar: Shelomith the head.

19. हेब्रोन के पुत्रा : यरीरयाह मुख्य, दूसरा अमर्याह, तीसरा यहजीएल, और चौथा यकमाम था।

19. Sons of Hebron: Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

20. उज्जीएल के पुत्रों में से मुख्य तो मीका और दूसरा यिश्शिरयाह था।

20. Sons of Uzziel: Micah the head, and Ishshiah, the second.

21. मरारी के पुत्रा : महली और मूशी। महली के पुत्रा : एलीआजर और कीश थे।

21. Sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.

22. एलीआजर पुत्राहीन मर गया, उसके केवल बेटियां हुई; सो कीश के पुत्रों ने जो उनके भाई थे उन्हें ब्याह लिया।

22. And Eleazar dieth, and he had no sons, but daughters, and sons of Kish their brethren take them.

23. मूशी के पुत्रा : महली; एदोर और यरेमोत यह तीन थे।

23. Sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth, three.

24. लेवीय पितरों के घरानों के मुख्य पुरूष ये ही थे, ये नाम ले लेकर, एक एक पुरूष करके गिने गए, और बीस वर्ष की वा उस से अधिक अवस्था के थे और यहोवा के भवन में सेवा टहल करते थे।

24. These [are] sons of Levi, by the house of their fathers, heads of the fathers, by their appointments, in the number of names, by their polls, doing the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from a son of twenty years and upward,

25. क्योंकि दाऊद ने कहा, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा ने अपनी प्रजा को विश्राम दिया है, और वह तो यरूशलेम में सदा के लिये बस गया है।

25. for David said, 'Jehovah, God of Israel, hath given rest to His people, and He doth tabernacle in Jerusalem unto the age;'

26. और लेवियों को निवास और उस की उपासना का सामान फिर उठाना न पड़ेगा ।

26. and also of the Levites, 'None [are] to bear the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service;'

27. क्योंकि दाऊद की पिछली आज्ञाओं के अनुसार बीस वर्ष वा उस से अधिक अवस्था के लेवीय गिने गए।

27. for by the last words of David they [took] the number of the sons of Levi from a son of twenty years and upward,

28. क्योंकि उनका काम तो हारून की सन्तान की सेवा टहल करना था, अर्थात यह कि वे आंगनों और कोठरियों में, और सब पवित्रा वस्तुओं के शुठ्ठ करने में और परमेश्वर के भवन की उपासना के सब कामों में सेवा टहल करें।

28. for their station [is] at the side of the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of Jehovah, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the cleansing of every holy thing, and the work of the service of the house of God,

29. और भेंट की रोटी का, अन्नबलियों के मैदे का, और अखमीरी पपड़ियों का, और तवे पर बनाए हुए और सने हुए का, और मापने और तौलने के सब प्रकार का काम करें।

29. and for the bread of the arrangement, and for fine flour for present, and for the thin unleavened cakes, and for [the work of] the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all [liquid] measure and [solid] measure;

30. और प्रति भोर और प्रति सांझ को यहोवा का धन्यवाद और उसकी स्तुति करने के लिये खड़े रहा करें।

30. and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks, and to give praise to Jehovah, and so at evening;

31. और विश्रामदिनों और नये चान्द के दिनों, और नियत परव में गिनती के नियम के अनुसार नित्य यहोवा के सब होपबलियों को बढ़ाएं।

31. and for all the burnt-offerings -- burnt-offerings to Jehovah for sabbaths, for new moons, and for appointed seasons, by number, according to the ordinance upon them continually, before Jehovah.

32. और यहोवा के भवन की उपासना के विषय मिलापवाले नम्बू और पवित्रास्थान की रक्षा करें, और अपने भाई हारूनियों के सौंपे हुए काम को चौकसी से करें।

32. And they have kept the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron, their brethren, for the service of the house of Jehovah.
