1. इसलिये आओ मसीह की शिक्षा की आरम्भ की बातों को छोड़कर, हम सिद्धता की ओर बढ़ते जाएं, और मरे हुए कामों से मन फिराने, और परमेश्वर पर विश्वास करने।

1. Wherefore, having left the word of the beginning of the Christ, unto the perfection we may advance, not again a foundation laying of reformation from dead works, and of faith on God,

2. और बपतिस्मों और हाथ रखने, और मरे हुओं के जी उठने, और अन्तिम न्याय की शिक्षारूपी नेव, फिर से न डालें।

2. of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on also of hands, of rising again also of the dead, and of judgment age-during,

3. और यदि परमेश्वर चाहे, तो हम यहीं करेंगे।

3. and this we will do, if God may permit,

4. क्योंकि जिन्हों ने एक बार ज्योति पाई है, जो स्वर्गीय वरदान का स्वाद चख चुके हैं और पवित्रा आत्मा के भागी हो गए हैं।

4. for [it is] impossible for those once enlightened, having tasted also of the heavenly gift, and partakers having became of the Holy Spirit,

5. और परमेश्वर के उत्तम वचन का और आनेवाले युग की सामर्थों का स्वाद चख चुके हैं।

5. and did taste the good saying of God, the powers also of the coming age,

6. यदि वे भटक जाएं; तो उन्हें मन फिराव के लिये फिर नया बनाना अन्होना है; क्योंकि वे परमेश्वर के पुत्रा को अपने लिये फिर क्रूस पर चढ़ाते हैं और प्रगट में। उस पर कलंक लगाते हैं।

6. and having fallen away, again to renew [them] to reformation, having crucified again to themselves the Son of God, and exposed to public shame.

7. क्योंकि जो भूमि वर्षा के पानी को जो उस पर बार बार पड़ता है, पी पीकर जिन लोगों के लिये वह जोती- बोई जाती है, उन के काम का साग- पात उपजाती है, वह परमेश्वर से आशीष पाती है।

7. For earth, that is drinking in the rain many times coming upon it, and is bringing forth herbs fit for those because of whom also it is dressed, doth partake of blessing from God,

8. पर यदि वह झाड़ी और ऊंटकटारे उगाती है, तो निकम्मी और स्रापित होने पर है, और उसका अन्त जलाया जाना है।।

8. and that which is bearing thorns and briers [is] disapproved of, and nigh to cursing, whose end [is] for burning;

9. पर हे प्रियो यद्यपि हम ये बातें कहते हैं तौभी तुम्हारे विषय में हम इस से अच्छा और उद्धारवाली बातों का भरोसा करते हैं।

9. and we are persuaded, concerning you, beloved, the things that are better, and accompanying salvation, though even thus we speak,

10. क्योंकि परमेश्वर अन्यायी नहीं, कि तुम्हारे काम, और उस प्रेम को भूल जाए, जो तुम ने उनके नाम के लिये इस रीति से दिखाया, कि पवित्रा लोगों की सेवा की, और कर रहे हो।

10. for God is not unrighteous to forget your work, and the labour of the love, that ye shewed to His name, having ministered to the saints and ministering;

11. पर हम बहुत चाहते हैं, कि तुम में से हर एक जन अन्त तक पूरी आशा के लिये ऐसा ही प्रयत्न करता रहे।

11. and we desire each one of you the same diligence to shew, unto the full assurance of the hope unto the end,

12. ताकि तुम आलसी न हो जाओ; बरन उन का अनुकरण करो, जो विश्वास और धीरज के द्वारा प्रतिज्ञाओं के वारिस होते हैं।

12. that ye may not become slothful, but followers of those who through faith and patient endurance are inheriting the promises.

13. और परमेश्वर ने इब्राहीम को प्रतिज्ञा देते समय जब कि शपथ खाने के लिये किसी को अपने से बड़ा न पाया, तो अपनी ही शपथ खाकर कहा।

13. For to Abraham God, having made promise, seeing He was able to swear by no greater, did swear by Himself,

14. कि मैं सचमुच तुझे बहुत आशीष दूंगा, और तेरी सन्तान को बढ़ाता जाऊंगा।

14. saying, 'Blessing indeed I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee;'

15. और इस रीति से उस ने धीरज धरकर प्रतिज्ञा की हुई बात प्राप्त की।

15. and so, having patiently endured, he did obtain the promise;

16. मनुष्य तो अपने से किसी बड़े की शपथ खाया करते हैं और उन के हर एक विवाद का फैसला शपथ से पक्का होता है।

16. for men indeed do swear by the greater, and an end of all controversy to them for confirmation [is] the oath,

17. इसलिये जब परमेश्वर ने प्रतिज्ञा के वारिसों पर और भी साफ रीति से प्रगट करना चाहा, कि उसकी मनसा बदल नहीं सकती तो शपथ को बीच में लाया।

17. in which God, more abundantly willing to shew to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, did interpose by an oath,

18. ताकि दो बे- बदल बातों के द्वारा जिन के विषय में परमेश्वर का झूठा ठहरना अन्होना है, हमारा दृढ़ता से ढाढ़स बन्ध जाए, जो शरण लेने को इसलिये दौड़े है, कि उस आशा को जो साम्हने रखी हुई है प्राप्त करें।

18. that through two immutable things, in which [it is] impossible for God to lie, a strong comfort we may have who did flee for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before [us],
