1. अन्यजातियों के विषय यहोवा का जो वचन यिर्मयाह भविष्यद्वक्ता के पास पहुंचा, वह यह है।

1. That which came as the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.

2. मिस्र के विषय। मिस्र के राजा फिरौन निको की सेना जो परात महानद के तीर पर कर्कमीश में थी, और जिसे बाबुल के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर ने योशिरयाह के पुत्रा यहूदा के राजा यहोयाकीम के राज्य के चौथे वर्ष में जीत लिया था,

2. To Egypt, concerning the army of Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt, which was by the Euphrates River at Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon defeated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:

3. उस सेना के विषये-- ढालें और फरियां तैयार करके लड़ने को निकट चले आओ।

3. 'Line up the shield and buckler, And draw near for the battle!

4. घोड़ों को जुतवाओ; और हे सवारो, घोड़ों पर चढ़कर टोप पहिने हुए खड़े हो जाओ; भालों को पैना करो, झिलमों को पहिन लो !

4. 'Harness the horses, And mount the steeds, And take your stand with helmets [on]! Polish the spears, Put on the scale-armor!

5. मैं क्यों उनको व्साकुल देखता हूँ? वे विस्मित होकर पीछे हट गए। उनके शूरवीर गिराए गए और उतावली करके भाग गए; वे पीछे देखते भी नहीं; क्योंकि यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि चारों ओर भय ही भय हे !

5. 'Why have I seen [it]? They are terrified, They are drawing back, And their mighty men are defeated And have taken refuge in flight, Without facing back; Terror is on every side!' Declares the LORD.

6. न वेग चलनेवाला भागने पाएगा और न वीर बचने पाएगा; क्योंकि उत्तर दिशा में परात महानद के तीर पर वे सब ठोकर खाकर गिर पड़े।

6. Let not the swift man flee, Nor the mighty man escape; In the north beside the river Euphrates They have stumbled and fallen.

7. यह कौन है, जो नील नदी की नाई, जिसका जल महानदों का सा उछलता है, बढ़ा चला आता है?

7. Who is this that rises like the Nile, Like the rivers whose waters surge about?

8. मिस्र नील नदी की नाई बढ़ता है, उसका जल महानदों का सा उछलता है। वह कहता है, मैं चढ़कर पृथ्वी को भर दूंगा, मैं नगरों को उनके निवासियों समेत नाश कर दूंगा।

8. Egypt rises like the Nile, Even like the rivers whose waters surge about; And He has said, 'I will rise and cover [that] land; I will surely destroy the city and its inhabitants.'

9. हे मिस्री सवारो आगे बढ़ो, हे रथियो बहुत ही वेग से चलाओ ! हे ढाल पकड़नेवाले कूशी और पूती वीरो, हे धनुर्धारी लूदियो चले आओ।

9. Go up, you horses, and drive madly, you chariots, That the mighty men may march forward: Ethiopia and Put, that handle the shield, And the Lydians, that handle [and] bend the bow.

10. क्योंकि वह दिन सेनाओं के यहोवा प्रभु के बदला लेने का दिन होगा जिस में वह अपने द्रोहियों से बदला लेगा। सो तलवार खाकर तृप्त होगी, और उनका लोहू पीकर छक जाएगी। क्योंकि, उत्तर के देश में परान महानद के तीर पर, सेनाओं के यहोवा प्रभु का यज्ञ है।

10. For that day belongs to the Lord GOD of hosts, A day of vengeance, so as to avenge Himself on His foes; And the sword will devour and be satiated And drink its fill of their blood; For there will be a slaughter for the Lord GOD of hosts, In the land of the north by the river Euphrates.

11. हे मिस्र की कुमारी कन्या, गिलाद को जाकर बलसान औषधि ले; तू व्यर्थ ही बहुत इलाज करती है, तू चंगी नहीं होगी !

11. Go up to Gilead and obtain balm, O virgin daughter of Egypt! In vain have you multiplied remedies; There is no healing for you.

12. क्योंकि सब जाति के लोगों ने सुना है कि तू नीच हो गई और पृथ्वी तेरी चिल्लाहट से भर गई है; वीर से वीर ठोकर खाकर गिर पड़े; वे दोनों एक संग गिर गए हैं।

12. The nations have heard of your shame, And the earth is full of your cry [of distress]; For one warrior has stumbled over another, And both of them have fallen down together.

13. यहोवा ने यिर्मयाह भविष्यद्वक्ता से यह वचन भी कहा कि बाबुल का राजा नबूकदनेस्सर क्योंकर आकर मिस्र देश को मार लेगो

13. [This is] the message which the LORD spoke to Jeremiah the prophet about the coming of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to smite the land of Egypt:

14. मिस्र में वर्णन करो, और मिग्दोल में सुनाओ; हां, ओर नोप और तहपन्हेस में सुनाकर यह कहो कि खड़े होकर तैयार हो जाओ; क्योंकि तुम्हारे चारों ओर सब कुछ तलवार खा गई है।

14. 'Declare in Egypt and proclaim in Migdol, Proclaim also in Memphis and Tahpanhes; Say, 'Take your stand and get yourself ready, For the sword has devoured those around you.'

15. तेरे बलवन्त जन क्यों बिलाय गए हैं? वे इस कारण खड़े न रह सके क्योंकि यहोवा ने उन्हें ढकेल दिया।

15. 'Why have your mighty ones become prostrate? They do not stand because the LORD has thrust them down.

16. उस ने बहुतों को ठोकर खिलाई, वे एक दूसरे पर गिर पड़े; और वे कहने लगे, उठो, चलो, हम अन्धेर करनेवाले की तलवार के डर के मारे अपने अपने लोगों ओर अपनी अपनी जन्मभूमि में फिर लौट जाएं।

16. 'They have repeatedly stumbled; Indeed, they have fallen one against another. Then they said, 'Get up! And let us go back To our own people and our native land Away from the sword of the oppressor.'

17. वहां वे पुकार के कहते हैं, मिस्र का राजा फिरौन सत्यानाश हुआ; क्योंकि उस ने अपना बहुमूल्य अवसर खे दिया।

17. 'They cried there, 'Pharaoh king of Egypt [is] [but] a big noise; He has let the appointed time pass by!'

18. वह राजाधिराज जिसका नाम सेनाओं का यहोवा है, उसकी यह वाणी है कि मेरे जीवन की सौगन्ध, जैसा ताबोर अन्य पहाड़ों में, और जैसा कमल समुद्र के किनारे है, वैसा ही वह आएगा।

18. 'As I live,' declares the King Whose name is the LORD of hosts, 'Surely one shall come [who looms up] like Tabor among the mountains, Or like Carmel by the sea.

19. हे मिस्र की रहनेवाली पुत्री ! बंधुआई में जाने का सामान तैयार कर, क्योंकि नोप नगर उजाड़ और ऐसा भस्म हो जाएगा कि उस में कोई भी न रहेगा।

19. 'Make your baggage ready for exile, O daughter dwelling in Egypt, For Memphis will become a desolation; It will even be burned down [and] bereft of inhabitants.

20. मिस्र बहुत ही सुन्दर बछिया तो है, परन्तु उत्तर दिशा से नाश चला आता है, वह आ ही गया है।

20. 'Egypt is a pretty heifer, [But] a horsefly is coming from the north-- it is coming!

21. उसके जो सिपाही किराये पर आए हैं वह पोसे हुए बछड़ों के समान हैं; उन्हों ने मुंह मोड़ा, और एक संग भाग गए, वे खड़े नहीं रहे; क्योंकि उनकी विपत्ति का दिन और दण्ड पाने का समय आ गया।

21. 'Also her mercenaries in her midst Are like fattened calves, For even they too have turned back [and] have fled away together; They did not stand [their ground]. For the day of their calamity has come upon them, The time of their punishment.

22. उसकी आहट सर्प के भागने की सी होगी; क्योंकि वे वृक्षों के काटनेवालों की सेना और कुल्हाड़ियां लिए हुए उसके विरूद्व चढ़ आएंगे।

22. 'Its sound moves along like a serpent; For they move on like an army And come to her as woodcutters with axes.

23. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि चाहे उसका वन बहुत ही घना हो, परन्तु वे उसको काट डालेंगे, क्योंकि वे टिडि्डयों से भी अधिक अनगिनित हैं।

23. 'They have cut down her forest,' declares the LORD; 'Surely it will no [more] be found, Even though they are [now] more numerous than locusts And are without number.

24. मिस्री कन्या लज्जित होगी, वह उत्तर दिशा के लोगों के वश में कर दी जाएगी।

24. 'The daughter of Egypt has been put to shame, Given over to the power of the people of the north.'

25. इस्राएल का परमेश्वर, सेनाओं का यहोवा कहता है, देखो, मैं नगरवासी आमोन और फिरौन राजा और मिस्र को उसके सब देवताओं और राजाओं समेत और फिरौन को उन समेत जो उस पर भरोसा रखते हैं दण्ड देने पर हूँ।

25. The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, says, 'Behold, I am going to punish Amon of Thebes, and Pharaoh, and Egypt along with her gods and her kings, even Pharaoh and those who trust in him.

26. मैं उनको बाबुल के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर और उसके कर्मचारियों के वश में कर दूंगा जो उनके प्राण के खोजी हैं। उसके बाद वह प्राचीनकाल की नाई फिर बसाया जाएगा, यहोवा की यह वाणी है।

26. 'I shall give them over to the power of those who are seeking their lives, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of his officers. Afterwards, however, it will be inhabited as in the days of old,' declares the LORD.

27. परन्तु हे मेरे दास याकूब, तू मत डर, और हे इस्राएल, विस्मित न हो; क्योंकि मैं तुझे और तेरे वंश को बंधुआई के दूर देश से छुड़ा ले आऊंगा। याकूब लैटकर चैन और सुख से रहेगा, और कोई उसे डराने न पाएगा।

27. 'But as for you, O Jacob My servant, do not fear, Nor be dismayed, O Israel! For, see, I am going to save you from afar, And your descendants from the land of their captivity; And Jacob will return and be undisturbed And secure, with no one making [him] tremble.

28. हे मेरे दास याकूब, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि तू मत डर, क्योंकि मैं तेरे साथ हूँ। ओर यद्यपि मैं उन सब जातियों का अन्त कर डालूंगा जिन में मैं ने तुझे बरबस निकाल दिया है, तौभी तेरा अन्त न करूंगा। मैं तेरी ताड़ना विचार करके करूंगा, परन्तु तुझे किसी प्रकार से निदष न ठहराऊंगा।

28. 'O Jacob My servant, do not fear,' declares the LORD, 'For I am with you. For I will make a full end of all the nations Where I have driven you, Yet I will not make a full end of you; But I will correct you properly And by no means leave you unpunished.'
