1. जो जो आज्ञा मैं आज तुझे सुनाता हूं उन सभों पर चलने की चौकसी करना, इसलिये कि तुम जीवित रहो और बढ़ते रहो, और जिस देश के विषय में यहोवा ने तुम्हारे पूर्वजों से शपथ खाई है उस में जाकर उसके अधिकारी हो जाओ।

1. Ye shall keepe all the commandements which I command thee this day, for to doe them: that ye may liue, and be multiplied, and goe in, and possesse the land which the Lord sware vnto your fathers.

2. और स्मरण रख कि तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा उन चालीस वर्षों में तुझे सारे जंगल के मार्ग में से इसलिये ले आया है, कि वह तुझे नम्र बनाए, और तेरी परीक्षा करके यह जान ले कि तेरे मन में क्या क्या है, और कि तू उसकी आज्ञाओं का पालन करेगा वा नहीं।

2. And thou shalt remember all ye way which the Lord thy God led thee this fourtie yeere in the wildernesse, for to humble thee and to proue thee, to knowe what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keepe his commandements or no.

3. उस ने तुझ को नम्र बनाया, और भूखा भी होने दिया, फिर वह मन्ना, जिसे न तू और न तेरे पुरखा ही जानते थे, वही तुझ को खिलाया; इसलिये कि वह तुझ को सिखाए कि मनुष्य केवल रोटी ही से नहीं जीवित रहता, परन्तु जो जो वचन यहोवा के मुंह से निकलते हैं उन ही से वह जीवित रहता है।

3. Therefore he humbled thee, and made thee hungry, and fed thee with MAN, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know it, that he might teache thee that man liueth not by bread onely, but by euery worde that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord, doth a man liue.

4. इन चालीस वर्षों में तेरे वस्त्रा पुराने न हुए, और तेरे तन से भी नहीं गिरे, और न तेरे पांव फूले।

4. Thy raiment waxed not olde vpon thee, neither did thy foote swell those fourtie yeeres.

5. फिर अपने मन में यह तो विचार कर, कि जैसा कोई अपने बेटे को ताड़ना देता है वैसे ही तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझ को ताड़ना देता है।
इब्रानियों 12:7

5. Knowe therefore in thine heart, that as a man nourtereth his sonne, so the Lord thy God nourtereth thee.

6. इसलिये अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की आज्ञाओं का पालन करते हुए उसके मार्गों पर चलना, और उसका भय मानते रहना।

6. Therefore shalt thou keepe the commandements of the Lord thy God, that thou mayest walke in his wayes, and feare him.

7. क्योंकि तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझे एक उत्तम देश में लिये जा रहा है, जो जल की नदियों का, और तराइयों और पहाड़ों से निकले हुए गहिरे गहिरे सोतों का देश है।

7. For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land in the which are riuers of water and fountaines, and depthes that spring out of valleis and mountaines:

8. फिर वह गेहूं, जौ, दाखलताओं, अंजीरों, और अनरों का देश है; और तेलवाली जलपाई और मधु का भी देश है।

8. A land of wheate and barley, and of vineyards, and figtrees, and pomegranates: a land of oyle oliue and hony:

9. उस देश में अन्न की महंगी न होगी, और न उस में तुझे किसी पदार्थ की घटी होगी; वहां के पत्थर लोहे के हैं, और वहां के पहाड़ों में से तू तांबा खोदकर निकाल सकेगा।

9. A land wherein thou shalt eate bread without scarcitie, neither shalt thou lacke any thing therein: a land whose stones are yron, and out of whose mountaines thou shalt digge brasse.

10. और तू पेट भर खाएगा, और उस उत्तम देश के कारण जो तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझे देगा उसका धन्य मानेगा।

10. And when thou hast eaten and filled thy selfe, thou shalt blesse the Lord thy God for the good land, which he hath giuen thee.

11. इसलिये सावधान रहना, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को भूलकर उसकी जो जो आज्ञा, नियम, और विधि, मैं आज तुझे सुनाता हूं उनका मानना छोड़ दे;

11. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, not keeping his commandements, and his lawes, and his ordinances, which I commaund thee this day:

12. ऐसा न हो कि जब तू खाकर तृप्त हो, और अच्छे अच्छे घर बनाकर उन में रहने लगे,

12. Lest when thou hast eaten and filled thy selfe, and hast built goodly houses and dwelt therein,

13. और तेरी गाय- बैलों और भेड़- बकरियों की बढ़ती हो, और तेरा सोना, चांदी, और तेरा सब प्रकार का धन बढ़ जाए,

13. And thy beastes, and thy sheepe are increased, and thy siluer and golde is multiplied, and all that thou hast is increased,

14. तब तेरे मन में अहंकार समा जाए, और तू अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को भूल जाए, जो तुझ को दासत्व के घर अर्थात् मि देश से निकाल लाया है,

14. Then thine heart be lifted vp and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage,

15. और उस बड़े और भयानक जंगल में से ले आया है, जहां तेज विषवाले सर्प और बिच्छू हैं, और जलरहित सूखे देश में उस ने तेरे लिये चकमक की चट्ठान से जल निकाला,

15. Who was thy guide in the great and terrible wildernes (wherein were fierie serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where was no water, who brought forth water for thee out of ye rock of flint:

16. और तुझे जंगल में मन्ना खिलाया, जिसे तुम्हारे पुरखा जानते भी न थे, इसलिये कि वह तुझे नम्र बनाए, और तेरी परीक्षा करके अन्त में तेरा भला ही करे।

16. Who fed thee in the wildernesse with MAN, which thy fathers knewe not) to humble thee, and and to proue thee, that he might doe thee good at thy latter ende.

17. और कहीं ऐसा न हो कि तू सोचने लगे, कि यह सम्पत्ति मेरे ही सामर्थ्य और मेरे ही भुजबल से मुझे प्राप्त हुई।

17. Beware least thou say in thine heart, My power, and the strength of mine owne hand hath prepared me this abundance.

18. परन्तु तू अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को स्मरण रखना, क्योंकि वही है जो तुझे सम्पति प्राप्त करने का सामर्थ्य इसलिये देता है, कि जो वाचा उस ने तेेरे पूर्वजों से शपथ खाकर बान्धी थी उसको पूरा करे, जैसा आज प्रगट है।

18. But remember the Lord thy God: for it is he which giueth thee power to get substance to establish his couenant which he sware vnto thy fathers, as appeareth this day.

19. यदि तू अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को भूलकर दूसरे देवताओं के पीछे हो लेगा, और उसकी उपासना और उनको दण्डवत् करेगा, तो मैं आज तुम को चिता देता हूं कि तुम नि:सन्देह नष्ट हो जाओगे।

19. And if thou forget the Lord thy God, and walke after other gods, and serue them, and worship them, I testifie vnto you this day that ye shall surely perish.

20. जिन जातियों को यहोवा तुम्हारे सम्मुख से नष्ट करने पर है, उन्ही की नाई तुम भी अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा का वचन न मानने के कारण नष्ट हो जाओगे।

20. As the nations which the Lord destroyeth before you, so ye shall perish, because ye woulde not be obedient vnto the voyce of the Lord your God.
