1. मैं यह कहता हूं, कि वारिस जब तक बालक है, यद्यपि सब वस्तुओं का स्वामी है, तौभी उस में और दास में कुछ भेद नहीं।

1. But I saye: As longe as the heyre is a childe, there is no difference betwene him and a seruaunt, though he be lorde of all ye goodes:

2. परन्तु पिता के ठहराए हुए समय तक रक्षकों और भण्डारियों के वश में रहता है।

2. but he is vnder tuters and gouerners, vntyll the tyme appoynted of the father.

3. वैसे ही हम भी, जब बालक थे, तो संसार की आदि शिक्षा के वश में होकर दास बने हुए थे।

3. Euen so we also, wha we were children, were in bondage vnder the outwarde tradicions.

4. परन्तु जब समय पूरा हुआ, तो परमेश्वर ने अपने पुत्रा को भेजा, जो स्त्री से जन्मा, और व्यवस्था के आधीन उत्पन्न हुआ।

4. But whan the tyme was fulfylled, God sent his sonne, borne of a woma, and put vnder the lawe,

5. ताकि व्यवस्था के आधीनों को मोल लेकर छुड़ा ले, और हम को लेपालक होने का पद मिले।

5. to redeme them which were vnder the lawe, that we mighte receaue ye childshippe.

6. और तुम जो पुत्रा हो, इसलिये परमेश्वर ने अपने पुत्रा के आत्मा को, जो हे अब्बा, हे पिता कहकर पुकारता है, हमारे हृदय में भेजा है।

6. For so moch the as ye are children, God hath sent the sprete of his sonne in to oure hertes, which cryeth: Abba, deare father.

7. इसलिये तू अब दास नहीं, परन्तु पुत्रा है; और जब पुत्रा हुआ, तो परमेश्वर के द्वारा वारिस भी हुआ।

7. Wherfore now, thou art not a seruaunt, but a sonne. Yf thou be a sonne, then art thou the heyre of God thorow Christ.

8. भला, तक तो तुम परमेश्वर को न जानकर उनके दास थे जो स्वभाव से परमेश्वर नहीं।
2 इतिहास 13:9, यशायाह 37:19, यिर्मयाह 2:11

8. Notwithstondinge whan ye knewe not God, ye dyd seruyce vnto them, which by nature are no Goddes.

9. पर अब जो तुम ने परमेश्वर को पहचान लिया बरन परमेश्वर ने तुम केा पहचाना, तो उन निर्बल और निकम्मी आदि- शिक्षा की बातों की ओर क्यों फिरते हो, जिन के तुम दोबारा दास होना चाहते हो?

9. But now seynge ye knowe God (yee rather are knowne off God) how is it that ye turne you backe agayne vnto the weake and beggerly tradicions, wher vnto ye desyre agayne afresh to be in bondage?

10. तुम दिनों और महीनों और नियत समयों और वर्षों को मानते हो।

10. Ye obserue dayes and monethes, and tymes and yeares.

11. मैं तुम्हारे विषय में डरता हूं, कहीं ऐसा न हो, कि जो परिश्रम मैं नं तुम्हारे लिये किया है व्यर्थ ठहरे।।

11. I am in feare of you, lest I haue bestowed laboure on you in vayne.

12. हे भाइयों, मैं तुम से बिनती करता हूं, तुम मेरे समान हो जाओ: क्योंकि मैं भी तुम्हारे समान हुआ हूं; तुम ने मेरा कुछ बिगाड़ा नहीं।

12. Brethre I beseke you, be ye as I am, for I am as ye are. Ye haue not hurte me at all.

13. पर तुम जानते हो, कि पहिले पहिल मैं ने शरीर की निर्बलता के कारण तुम्हें सुसमाचार सुनाया।

13. For ye knowe how that in weaknes after ye flesh I preached ye Gospell vnto you at the first:

14. और तुम ने मेरी शारीरिक दशा को जो तुम्हारी परीक्षा का कारण थी, तुच्छ न जाना; न उस ने घृणा की; और परमेश्वर के दूत बरन मसीह के समान मुझे ग्रहण किया।

14. and my tentacion which I suffred after the flesh, ye despysed not, nether abhorred, but receaued me as an angell of God, yee euen as Christ Iesus.

15. तो वह तुम्हारा आनन्द मनाना कहां गया? मैं तुम्हारा गवाह हूं, कि यदि हो सकता, तो तुम अपनी आंखें भी निकालकर मुझे दे देते।

15. How happy were ye then? For I beare you recorde, that yf it had bene possible, ye had plucked out youre awne eyes, and geue them vnto me.

16. तो क्या तुम से सच बोलने के कारण मैं तुम्हारा बैरी हो गया हूं।
आमोस 5:10

16. Am I therfore become yor enemy, because I tell you ye trueth?

17. वे तुम्हें मित्रा बनाना तो चाहते हैं, पर भली मनसा से नहीं; बरन तुम्हें अलग करना चाहते हैं, कि तुम उन्हीं को मित्रा बना लो।

17. They are gelous ouer you amysse. Yee they wolde make you to fall backe, that ye might be feruet to the warde.

18. पर यह भी अच्छा है, कि भली बात में हर समय मित्रा बनाने का यत्न किया जाए, न केवल उसी समय, कि जब मैं तुम्हारे साथ रहता हूं।

18. It is good to be feruent, so yt it be allwaye in a good thinge, and not onely whan I am present wt you.

19. हे मेरे बालकों, जब तक तुम में मसीह का रूप न बन जाए, तब तक मैं तुम्हारे लिये फिर जच्चा की सी पीड़ाएं सहता हूं।

19. My litle children (of whom I trauayle in byrth agayne, vntyll Christ be fashioned in you)

20. इच्छा तो यह होती है, कि अब तुम्हारे पास आकर और ही प्रकार से बोलू, क्योंकि तुम्हारे विषय में मुझे सन्देह है।।

20. I wolde I were wt you now, and coulde chauge my voyce, for I stode i doute of you.

21. तुम जो व्यवस्था के आधीन होना चाहते हो, मुझ से कहो, क्या तुम व्यवस्था की नहीं सुनते?

21. Tell me ye that wylbe vnder the lawe, haue ye not herde the lawe?

22. यह लिखा है, कि इब्राहीम के दो पुत्रा हुए; एक दासी से, और एक स्वतंत्रा स्त्री से।
उत्पत्ति 16:5, उत्पत्ति 21:2

22. For it is wrytten, that Abraham had two sonnes the one by a bonde mayde, the other by a fre woman.

23. परन्तु जो दासी से हुआ, वह शारीरिक रीति से जन्मा, और जो स्वतंत्रा स्त्री से हुआ, वह प्रतिज्ञा के अनुसार जन्मा।

23. As for him that was of the bode mayde, he was borne after ye flesh: but he which was of the fre woman, was borne by promes.

24. इन बातों में दृष्टान्त है, ये स्त्रियां मानों दो वाचाएं हैं, एक तो सीना पहाड़ की जिस से दास ही उत्पन्न होते हैं; और वह हाजिरा है।

24. These wordes betoken somwhat. For these wemen are the two Testamentes: The one from the mount Sina, that gendreth vnto bondage, which is Agar.

25. और हाजिरा मानो अरब का सीना पहाड़ है, और आधुनिक यरूशलेम उसे तुल्य है, क्योंकि वह अपने बालकों समेत दासत्व में है।

25. For Agar is called in Arabia ye mount Sina, and reacheth vnto Ierusalem which now is, and is in bondage with hir children.

26. पर ऊपर की यरूशलेम स्वतंत्रा है, और वह हमारी माता है।

26. But Ierusalem that is aboue, is the fre woman, which is the mother of vs all.

27. क्योंकि लिखा है, कि हे बांझ, तू जो नहीं जनती आनन्द कर, तु जिस को पीड़ाएं नहीं उठतीं गला खोलकर जय जयकार कर, क्योंकि त्यागी हुई की सन्तान सुहागिन की सन्तान से भी अधिक है।
यशायाह 54:1

27. For it is wrytte: Reioyse thou baren, that bearest no childre: breake forth and crye thou yt trauaylest not, for the desolate hath many mo childre, then she which hath an hussbande.

28. हे भाइयो, हम इसहाक की नाईं प्रतिज्ञा की सन्तान हैं।

28. As for vs (brethren) we are the children of Isaac acordinge to the promes.

29. और जैसा उस समय शरीर के अनुसार जन्मा हुआ आत्मा के अनुसार जन्मे हुए को सताता था, वैसा ही अब भी होता है।
उत्पत्ति 21:9

29. But like as at that tyme, he that was borne after the flesh, persecuted him yt was borne after the sprete, euen so is it now also.

30. परन्तु पवित्रा शास्त्रा क्या कहता है? दासी और उसके पुत्रा को निकाल दे, क्योंकि दासी का पुत्रा स्वतंत्रा स्त्री के पुत्रा के साथ उत्तराधिकारी नहीं होगा।
उत्पत्ति 21:10

30. But what sayeth the scripture? Put awaye the bonde mayden and hir sonne: for the sonne of ye bondmayde shal not be heyre with ye sonne of the fre woman.

31. इसलिये हे भाइयों, हम दासी के नहीं परन्तु स्वतंत्रा स्त्री के सन्तान हैं।

31. So now brethren, we are not children of the bonde mayde, but of the fre woman.
