1. क्या मैं स्वतंत्रा नहीं? क्या मैं प्ररित नहीं? क्या मैं ने यीशु को जो हमारा प्रभु है, नहीं देखा, क्या तुम प्रभु में मेरे बनाए हुए नहीं?

1. Am I not an Apostle? Am I not fre? Haue I not sene Iesus Christ oure LORDE?

2. यदि मैं औरों के लिये प्रेरित नहीं, तौभी तुम्हारे लिये तो हूं; क्योंकि तुम प्रभु में मेरी प्रेरिताई पर छाप हो।

2. Are not ye my worke in the LORDE? Yf I be not an Apostle vnto other, yet am I youre Apostle: for the seale of myne Apostleshippe are ye in the LORDE.

3. जो मुझे जांचते हैं, उन के लिये यीह मेरा उत्तर है।

3. Myne answere vnto them that axe me, is this:

4. क्या हमें खाने- पीने का अधिकार नहीं?

4. Haue we not power to eate and drynke?

5. क्या हमें यह अधिकार नहीं, कि किसी मसीही बहिन को ब्याह कर के लिए फिरें, जैसा और प्रेरित और प्रभु के भाई और कैफा करते हैं?

5. Haue we not power also to leade aboute a sister to wife, as well as other Apostles, and as the brethren of the LORDE, and Cephas?

6. या केवल मुझे और बरनबास को अधिकार नहीं कि कमाई करना छोड़ें।

6. Or haue onely I and Barnabas not power this to do?

7. कौन कभी अपनी गिरह से खाकर सिपाही का काम करता है: कौन दाख की बारी लगाकर उसका फल नहीं खाता? कौन भेड़ों की रखवाली करके उन का दूध नहीं पीता?

7. Who goeth a warfare at eny tyme vpon his awne wages? Who planteth a vynyarde, and eateth not of the frute therof? Who fedeth a flocke, and eateth not of the mylke of the flocke?

8. क्या मैं ये बातें मनुष्य ही की रीति पर बोलता हूं?

8. Saye I these thinges after the maner of men? Sayeth not the lawe the same also?

9. क्या व्यवस्था भी यही नहीं कहती? क्योंकि मूसा की व्यवस्था में लिखा है कि दांए में चलते हुए बैल का मुंह न बान्धना: क्या परमेश्वर बैलों ही की चिन्ता करता है? या विशेष करके हमारे लिये कहता है।

9. For it is wrytten in the lawe off Moses: Thou shalt not mosell the mouth of the oxe that treadeth out the corne. Doth God take thought for the oxen?

10. हां, हमारे लिये ही लिखा गया, क्योंकि उचित है, कि जातनेवाला आशा से जोते, और दावनेवाला भागी होने की आशा से दावनी करे।

10. Or sayeth he it not alltogether for oure sakes? For no doute it is wrytte for oure sakes. For he that eareth, shulde eare vpon hope: and he yt throssheth, shulde trosshe vpon hope, yt he mighte be partaker of his hope.

11. सो जब कि हम ने तुम्हारे लिये आत्मिक वस्तुएं बोई, तो क्या यह कोई बड़ी बात है, कि तुम्हारी शारीरिक वस्तुओं की फसल काटें।

11. Yf we haue sowne vnto you spiritual thinges, is it a greate thige yf we reape yor bodely thiges?

12. जब औरों का तुम पर यह अधिकार है, तो क्या हमारा इस से अधिक न होगा? परन्तु हम यह अधिकार काम में नहीं लाए; परन्तु सब कुछ सहते हैं, कि हमारे द्वारा मसीह के सुसमाचार की कुछ रोक न हो।

12. But yf other be partakers of this power on you, wherfore are not we rather? Neuertheles we haue not vsed this power, but suffre all thinges, lest we shulde hynder the Gospell off Christ.

13. क्या तुम नहीं जानते कि जो पवित्रा वस्तुओं की सेवा करते हैं, वे मन्दिर में से खाते हैं; और जो वेदी की सेवा करते हैं; वे वेदी के साथ भागी होते हैं?

13. Knowe ye not that they which laboure in the temple, haue their lyuynge of ye temple: and they that wayte at the altare, enioye the altare?

14. इसी रीति से प्रभु ने भी ठहराया, कि जो लोग सुसमाचार सुनाते हैं, उन की जीविका सुसमाचार से हो।

14. Euen thus also hath ye LORDE ordeyned, that they which preach the Gospell, shulde lyue of ye Gospell.

15. परन्तु मैं इन में से कोई भी बात काम में न लाया, और मैं ने तो ये बातें इसलिये नहीं लिखीं, कि मेरे लिये ऐसा किया जाए, क्योंकि इस से तो मेरा मरना ही भला है; कि कोई मेरा घमण्ड व्यर्थ ठहराए।

15. But I haue vsed none of these thinges. Nether wryte I therof, that it shulde be done so vnto me: for I had rather dye, the that eny man shulde brynge my reioysinge to naughte.

16. और यदि मैं सुसमाचार सुनाऊं, तो मेरा कुछ घमण्ड नहीं; क्योंकि यह तो मेरे लिये अवश्य है; और यदि मैं सुसमाचार न सुनाऊं, तो मुझ पर हाय।

16. For in that I preach the Gospell, I neade not boost my selfe, for I must nedes do it. And wo vnto me, yff I preach not the Gospell.

17. क्योंकि यदि अपनी इच्छा से यह करता हूं, तो मजदूरी मुझे मिलती है, और यदि अपनी इच्छा से नहीं करता, तौभी भण्डारीपन मुझे सौंपा गया है।

17. Yf I do it with a good wyll, I shall haue my rewarde: but yff I do it agaynst my wyll, yet is the office commytted vnto me.

18. सो मेरी कौन सी मजदूरी है? यह कि सुसमाचार सुनाने में मैं मसीह का सुसमाचार सेंत मेंत कर दूं; यहां तक कि सुसमाचार में जो मेरा अधिकार है, उस को मैं पूरी रीति से काम में लाऊं।

18. Wherfore the shal I be rewarded? (Namely therfore) that I preach the Gospell, and do the same frely for naughte, that I abuse not my libertye in ye Gospell.

19. क्योंकि सब से स्वतंत्रा होने पर भी मैं ने अपने आप को सब का दास बना दिया है; कि अधिक लोगों को खींच लाऊं।

19. For though I am fre from all men, yet haue I made my selfe euery mans seruaunt, yt I mighte wynne ye moo.

20. मैं यहूदियों के लिये यहूदी बना कि यहूदियों को खींच लाऊं, जो लोग व्यवस्था के आधीन हैं उन के लिये मैं व्यवस्था के आधीन न होने पर भी व्यवस्था के आधीन बना, कि उन्हें जो व्यवस्था के आधीन हैं, खींच लाऊं।

20. Vnto the Iewes I am become as a Iewe, to wynne ye Iewes. To them that are vnder the lawe, I am become as though I were vnder the lawe, to wynne them which are vnder the lawe.

21. व्यवस्थाहीनों के लिये मैं (जो परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था से हीन नहीं, परन्तु मसीह की व्यवस्था के आधीन हूं) व्यवस्थाहीन सा बना, कि व्यवस्थाहीनों को खींच लाऊं।

21. Vnto them that are without lawe, I am become as though I were without lawe (where as yet I am not without the lawe of God, but am in ye lawe of Christ) to wynne the that are without lawe.

22. मैं निर्बलों के लिये निर्बल सा बना, कि निर्बलों को खींच लाऊं, मैं सब मनुष्यों के लिये सब कुछ बना हूं, कि किसी न किसी रीति से कई एक का उद्धार कराऊं।

22. To the weake, am I become as weake, to wynne the weake. I am become of all fasshions vnto euery man, to saue some at ye leest.

23. और मैं सब कुछ सुसमाचार के लिये करता हूं, कि औरों के साथ उसका भागी हो जाऊं।

23. But this I do for the Gospels sake, that I mighte be partaker therof.

24. क्या तुम नहीं जानते, कि दौड़ में तो छौड़ते सब ही हैं, परन्तु इनाम एक ही ले जाता है? तुम वैसे ही दौड़ो, कि जीतो।

24. Knowe ye not, that they which runne in a course, runne all, yet but one receaueth the rewarde? Runne ye so, that ye maye optayne.

25. और हर एक पहलवान सब प्रकार का संयम करता है, वे तो एक मुरझानेवाले मुकुट को पाने के लिये यह सब करते हैं, परन्तु हम तो उस मुकुट के लिये करते हैं, जो मुरझाने का नहीं।

25. Euery one that proueth mastrye, absteyneth from all thinges, and they do it, that they maye optayne a corruptible crowne, but we to optayne an vncorruptible crowne.

26. इसलिये मैं तो इसी रीति से दौड़ता हूं, परन्तु बेठिकाने नहीं, मैं भी इसी रीति से मुक्कों से लड़ता हूं, परन्तु उस की नाईं नहीं जो हवा पीटता हुआ लड़ता है।

26. I therfore so runne, not as at an vncertayne thinge: So fighte I, not as one yt beateth ye ayre:

27. परनतु मैं अपनी देह को मारता कूटता, और वश में लाता हूं; ऐसा न हो कि औरों को प्रचार करके, मैं आप ही किसी रीति से निकम्मा ठहरूं।।

27. but I tame my body, and brynge it in to subieccion, lest whan I preach vnto other: I my selfe be a cast awaye.
