1. उसी दिन यरूशलेम की कलीसिया पर बड़ा उपद्रव होने लगा और प्रेरितों को छोड़ सब के सब यहूदिया और सामरिया देशों में तित्तर बित्तर हो गए।

1. And Saul was approving the killing of him. And on that day there developed a great persecution against the church at Jerusalem. And they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

2. और भक्तों ने स्तिफनुस को कब्र में रखा; और उसके लिये बड़ा विलाप किया।

2. And devout men arranged to bury Stephen, and they made great lamentation over him.

3. शाऊल कलीसिया को उजाड़ रहा था; और घर घर घुसकर पुरूषों और स्त्रियों को घसीट घसीटकर बन्दीगृह में डालता था।।

3. But Saul was ravaging the church, entering from house to house. Dragging both men and women, he gave them over to prison.

4. जो तित्तर बित्तर हुए थे, वे सुसमाचार सुनाते हुए फिरे।

4. Indeed therefore those who were scattered abroad passed through proclaiming the good-news, the word.

5. और फिलिप्पुस सामरिया नगर में जाकर लोगों में मसीह का प्रचार करने लगा।

5. And Philip, who went down to a city of Samaria, proclaimed the Christ to them.

6. और जो बातें फिलिप्पुस ने कहीं उन्हें लोगों ने सुनकर और जो चिन्ह वह दिखाता था उन्हें देख देखकर, एक चित्त होकर मन लगाया।

6. And the multitudes unanimously heeded the things that were spoken by Philip during their listening and seeing the signs that he did.

7. क्योंकि बहुतों में से अशुद्ध आत्माएं बड़े शब्द से चिल्लाती हुई निकल गई, और बहुत से झोले के मारे हुए और लंगडे भी अच्छे किए गए।

7. For of many of those who had unclean spirits, they came out, crying in a great voice. And many who were paralyzed, and who were lame, were healed.

8. और उस नगर में बड़ा आनन्द हुआ।।

8. And there became great joy in that city.

9. इस से पहिले उस नगर में शमौन नाम एक मनुष्य था, जो टोना करके सामरिया के लोगों को चकित करता और अपने आप को कोई बड़ा पुरूष बनाता थां

9. But a certain man in the city, Simon by name, was formerly practicing sorcery, and fascinating the nation of Samaria, saying himself to be some great man,

10. और सब छोटे से बड़े तक उसे मान कर कहते थे, कि यह मनुष्य परमशॆवर की वह शक्ति है, जो महान कहलाती है।

10. to whom they gave heed, from small to great, saying, This man is the great power of God.

11. उस ने बहुत दिनों से उन्हें अपने टोने के कामों से चकित कर रखा था, इसी लिये वे उस को बहुत मानते थे।

11. And they heeded him, because he facinated them for a considerable time with the sorceries.

12. परन्तु जब उन्हों ने फिलिप्पुस की प्रतीति की जो परमेश्वर के राज्य और यीशु के नाम का सुसमाचार सुनाता था तो लोग, क्या पुरूष, क्या स्त्री बपतिस्मा लेने लगे।

12. But when they believed Philip preaching good news, the things about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were immersed, both men and women.

13. तब शमौन ने आप भी प्रतीति की और बपतिस्मा लेकर फिलिप्पुस के साथ रहने लगा और चिन्ह और बड़े बड़े सामर्थ के काम होते देखकर चकित होता था।

13. And Simon himself also believed. And after being immersed, he was continuing with Philip. And seeing miracles and signs occurring, he was astonished.

14. जब प्ररितों ने जो यरूशलेम में थे सुना कि सामरियों ने परमेश्वर का वचन मान लिया है तो पतरस और यूहन्ना को उन के पास भेजा।

14. Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria has received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,

15. और उन्हों ने जाकर उन के लिये प्रार्थना की कि पवित्रा आत्मा पाएं।

15. who, when they came down, prayed for them, so that they might receive Holy Spirit,

16. क्योंकि वह अब तक उन में से किसी पर न उतरा था, उन्हों ने तो केवल प्रभु यीशु में नाम में बपतिस्मा लिया था।

16. for it was not yet fallen upon any of them. They were only immersed in the name of the Christ Jesus.

17. तब उन्हों ने उन पर हाथ रखे और उन्हों ने पवित्रा आत्मा पाया।

17. Then they laid hands on them, and they received Holy Spirit.

18. जब शमौन ने देखा कि प्ररितों के हाथ रखने से पवित्रा आत्मा दिया जाता है, तो उन के पास रूपये लाकर कहा।

18. Now when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he brought money to them,

19. कि यह अधिकार मुझे भी दो, कि जिस किसी पर हाथ रखूं, वह पवित्रा आत्मा पाए।

19. saying, Give me also this power, so that on whomever I lay hands, he may receive Holy Spirit.

20. पतरस ने उस से कहा; तेरे रूपये तेरे साथ नाश हों, क्योंकि तू ने परमेश्वर का दान रूपयों से मोल लेने का विचार किया।

20. But Peter said to him, Thy silver with thee, may it be for destruction, because thou thought to obtain the gift of God by money.

21. इस बात में न तेरा हिस्सा है, न बांटा; क्योंकि तेरा मन परमेश्वर के आगे सीधा नहीं।
भजन संहिता 78:37

21. There is no part nor lot for thee in this matter, for thy heart is not straight in the sight of God.

22. इसलिये अपनी इस बुराई से मन फिराकर प्रभु से प्रार्थना कर, सम्भव है तेरे मन का विचार क्षमा किया जाए।

22. Repent therefore from this thine evil, and beg God, if perhaps the thought of thy heart will be forgiven thee.

23. क्योंकि मैं देखता हूं, कि तू पित्त की सी कड़वाहट और अधर्म के बन्धन में पड़ा है।

23. For I perceive that thou are in the gall of bitterness and the bond of unrighteousness.

24. शमौन ने उत्तर दिया, कि तुम मेरे लिये प्रभु से प्रार्थना करो कि जो बातें तुम ने कहीं, उन में से कोई मुझ पर न आ पड़े।।

24. And having answered, Simon said, Beg ye to the Lord for me, so that none of which things ye have spoken may come upon me.

25. सो वे गवाही देकर और प्रभु का वचन सुनाकर, यरूशलेम को लौट गए, और सामरियों के बहुत गावों में सुसमाचार सुनाते गए।।

25. Indeed therefore, having solemnly testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, and preached the good-news in many villages of the Samaritans.

26. फिर प्रभु के एक स्वर्गदूत ने फिलिप्पुस से कहा; उठकर दक्खिन की ओर उस मार्ग पर जा, जो यरूशलेम से अज्जाह को जाता है, और जंगल में है।

26. And an agent of Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desolate region.

27. वह उठकर चल दिया, और देखो, कूश देश का एक मनुष्य आ रहा था जो खोजा और कूशियों की रानी कन्दाके का मन्त्री और खजांची था, और भजन करने को यरूशलेम आया था।

27. And after rising, he went. And behold a man, an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a high official of Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship.

28. और वह अपने रथ पर बैठा हुआ था, और यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता की पुस्तक पढ़ता हुआ लौटा जा रहा था।

28. And he was returning, and sitting in his chariot, and reading the prophet Isaiah.

29. तब आत्मा ने फिलिप्पुस से कहा, निकट जाकर इस रथ के साथ हो ले।

29. And the Spirit said to Philip, Go near, and be joined to this chariot.

30. फिलिप्पुस ने उस ओर दौड़कर उसे यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता की पुस्तक पढ़ते हुए सुना, और पूछा, कि तू जो पढ़ रहा है क्या उसे समझता भी है?

30. And after running near, Philip heard him reading the prophet Isaiah. And he said, Do thou also really understand the things that thou read?

31. उस ने कहा, जब तक कोई मुझे न समझाए तो मैं क्यांेकर समझूं? और उस ने फिलिप्पुस से बिनती की, कि चढ़कर मेरे पास बैठ।

31. And he said, For how can I unless some man may guide me? And he encouraged Philip, after coming up, to sit with him.

32. पवित्रा शास्त्रा का जो अध्याय वह पढ़ रहा था, वह यह था; कि वह भेड़ की नाईं वध होने को पहुंचाया गया, और जैसा मेम्ना अपने ऊन कतरनेवालों के साम्हने चुपचाप रहता है, वैसे ही उस ने भी अपना मुंह न खोला।
यशायाह 53:7-8

32. Now the passage of the Scripture that he was reading was this: He was led as a sheep to slaughter, and as a lamb, mute before shearing him, thus he opened not his mouth.

33. उस की दीनता में उसका न्याय होने नहीं पाया, और उसके समय के लोगों का वर्णन कौन करेगा, क्योंकि पृथ्वी से उसका प्राण उठाया जाता है।
यशायाह 53:7-8

33. In his lowly condition his justice was taken away. And who will describe his generation, because his life was taken from the earth?

34. इस पर खोजे ने फिलिप्पुस से पूछा; मैं तुझ से बिनती करता हूं, यह बता कि भविष्यद्वक्ता यह किस विषय में कहता है, अपने या किसी दूसरे के विषय में।

34. And having answered, the eunuch said to Philip, I ask thee, about whom does the prophet say this, about himself, or about some other man?

35. तब फिलिप्पुस ने अपना मुंह खोला, और इसी शास्त्रा से आरम्भ करके उसे यीशु का सुसमाचार सुनाया।

35. And Philip having opened his mouth, and having begun from this Scripture, he preached the good-news to him--the man Jesus.

36. मार्ग में चलते चलते वे किसी जल की जगह पहुंचे, तब खोजे ने कहा, देख यहां जल है, अब मुझे बपतिस्मा लेने में क्या रोक है।

36. And as they went on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch says, Look, water! What prevents me to be immersed?

37. फिलिप्पुस ने कहा, यदि तू सारे मन से विश्वास करता है तो हो सकता है: उस ने उत्तर दिया मैं विश्वास करता हूं कि यीशु मसीह परमेश्वर का पुत्रा है।

37. This verse in not in the majority of the manuscripts.

38. तब उस ने रथ खड़ा करने की आज्ञा दी, और फिलिप्पुस और खोजा दोनों जल में उतर पड़े, और उस ने उसे बपतिस्मा दिया।

38. And he commanded the chariot to stand still. And they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he immersed him.

39. जब वे जल में से निकलकर ऊपर आए, तो प्रभु का आत्मा फिलिप्पुस को उठा ले गया, सो खोजे ने उसे फिर न देखा, और वह आनन्द करता हुआ अपने मार्ग चला गया।

39. And when they came up out of the water, Spirit of Lord caught away Philip, and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing.

40. और फिलिप्पुस अशदोद में आ निकला, और जब तक कैसरिया में न पहुंचा, तब तक नगर नगर सुसमाचार सुनाता गया।।

40. But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through all the cities he preached the good-news until he came to Caesarea.
